I still think the funniest phenomenon in American politics is conservatives doing everything in their power to create the kind of society where your employer can fire you over social media posts and face no repercussions and then crying and pissing and shitting their pants when they get fired from their jobs over social media posts.

It gets funnier when you realize that they consider governmentally enforced worker protections communism but they also consider getting fired from their jobs for the things they post off the clock on social media due to a lack of governmentally enforced worker protections communism.

That's not the point. All I'm saying if, if conservatives hadn't spent decades pushing at-will employment so hard they wouldn't have to be worrying about getting fired over social media posts regardles of what liberals do.

That’s because at the end of the day what conservatives want is for their specific group to be in control of situations and wield power in whatever form it takes. They want the government to let them (and only them) do whatever they want, while brutally and ruthlessly cracking down on every other group that isn’t them, for literally any reason. They want to lash out and punish what they don’t like while experiencing zero repercussions for whatever they say or do.

And this hypocrisy isn’t even subconscious either. Like your default assumption would be “wow they’re so un-self-aware that they can’t tell how hypocritical they are!” but you’d be wrong. They know that what they’re doing is unfair, and they don’t care, because they think they’re right. While centrists are so fixated in fairness and compromise and balance, conservatives have zero issues with broken or unjust systems so long as they get to benefit from them, because every conservative believes that their every action is morally right and therefore exempt of judgment.
