Not voting = A vote for trump. There is no way around that. Your inaction is an action in itself. I implore you to reconsider excersizing your democratic right (while it still exists)

A vote for Trump is a vote for Trump. Periodt.

But I can play that game too: nominating Biden is a vote for Trump.

If my “democratic right” is a choice between two Republican rapists, who both want to cut Social Security, who both oppose a woman’s right to choose, and who are both racists, then my “rights” are pretty shitty, don’t you think?

I never ever said that I wasn’t voting at all. I’ll try to help progressives win the House and Senate. I’m just not voting for Biden.

Look, I’m an adult. I think I got this.

If YOU wanna vote for Biden, then please, go right ahead and do you. Go nuts. Have a ball. Knock yourself out. I am not telling anyone else how to vote.

But EYE am not voting for Joe Biden or Donald Trump.

They’re both Republicans.

I think this is a really fair perspective. I can’t believe this is where we are out of the field of a bajillion Democratic candidates that began in the field. The literal ONLY reason I am going to cast a vote for Joe Biden is because I cannot stomach the idea of the federal courts (including the supreme court) being ruined for the next few decades, which WILL happen if Trump wins. The amount if seats that are up are too vast, and the power to appoint is solely the president’s. Ruth Bader Ginsburg has done so much for all of us. I can’t let that orange plutocrat ruin her legacy.

Joe Biden is a lifelong anti-abortionist who supported the Hyde Amendment until late 2019, and he actively helped Republicans get Clarence Thomas nominated to SCOTUS. Biden even worked to have the contraception mandate removed from Obamacare while he was Obama’s VP. And Biden has been a perennial corporate do boy for big banks. And he openly worked with prominent racists to oppose school desegregation, he eulogized Strom Thurmond, he repeatedly supported George Bush’s wars, he has repeatedly said he wants to cut Social Security and raise the retirement age, he blocked a law that would have made it illegal for big pharma to price gouge, he has repeatedly pledged to veto Medicare For All, he wrote the racist mass incarceration “crime bill” and the precursor to the Patriot Act, he helped make student loan debt permanent, and he told a roomful of wealthy donors that “nothing would change” under a Biden presidency.

Not to mention, Biden has been credibly accused of rape.

Given all those factors and many more, I fail to see why anyone thinks that a Biden SCOTUS nominee would in any way be a suitable replacement for RGB? Not to be insulting, but it seems like wishful thinking not based in reality to suggest that a Biden nominee wouldn’t represent everything (anti-choice, anti-labor, pro big business) that Biden himself has championed for his entire political career.

The veneer of “normalcy” that surrounds Biden is a manufactured mirage. Joe Biden is a Republican who just happens to wear the letter “D” behind his name. Biden is deeply and fiscally conservative. Biden is a Reagan “Democrat” who likes “compromising” with Republicans. And make no mistake: Biden will appoint anti-choice, business friendly conservatives to the U.S. Supreme Court and to federal courts.

People who say Biden is just as bad as Trump literally make me want to pull my hair out. If NOTHING else, at least Biden will be held accountable for his actions and policies by lawmakers and the democratic party. And the democratic party isn't and won't become the Biden party. Trump is literally never held accountable by his cult of supporters or the GOP and 99.99% of the GOP follow Trump blindly.

Thank you. It is genuinely, truly delusional at this point to equate Biden with Trump. Almost no progressive voters WANT to vote for Biden, but if you have a brain you can see that we NEED to. We just need to.

The only reason Nancy Pelosi got off her ass and began an impeachment trial was because Trump went after Biden’s family corruption in Ukraine. Not kids in cages not benefitting financially in office not anything else. Just because she was offended that he correctly called it corruption and tried to benefit from it. In what fucking world will the Democratic Party hold JOE FUCKING BIDEN accountable?!?

Holding him accountable is not nominating him after his abysmal track record. Holding him accountable is interrogating him about his treatment of Anita Hill, his vote for the Crime Bill, his associations with big pharma, his attempts to cut social security. Asking him during the primary about the sexual assault allegations levied against him.
