Krittika: The Mother who Devours Her Own
I was going to wait for Dhumavati Jayanti to post this, but Iāve found that urgent teachings cannot wait. And so Iām posting this now. To understand the full weight of this piece, first read my writing on Ardra and the horror that is existence on this plane of duality. There will be many widely held concepts that I will overturn in this piece, so strap in for the ride.
Babies come out of the womb crying for a reason.
The birthing process that thrusts a soul into the incessant chaos of the dualistic world is none other than Bharani, and the violent, cruel world in which what is birthed must endlessly fight and work and toil to survive in is none other than Krittika.
To truly understand what this means, one must first have the correct perception of the Universal Mother, better known as Mother Nature. One must see Mother Nature for who she truly is.
Growing up, weāve all heard about Her. She is an all-loving, generous Mother who loves all her children equally and gives of her great bounty to everyone. She is the birther and nurturer of the colorful, vibrant world that we live and āflourishā in. In spiritual terms, she is even more highly praised. She is revered as the Divine Mother, the one who empowers all with her great Shakti, the one who lovingly looks upon her LÄ«la, her divine play, that is the harmonious co-existence of all her children who frolic and rejoice in the wonders of her ever-growing, ever-bewitching Maya. They say that she is the one to whom you can always go in prayer, and that she will always answer. In her loving bosom is the answer to all your questions, the solution to all of your problems. They say that she is everyoneās spiritual home, the one who is the source of nourishment for all beings.
And so if nobody else will tell you the following, I will:
The Mother does not give a blooming, flying fuck about you.
As weāve all seen, people talk of the Mother in such reverent terms. And looking at what she does, it is understandable why she may appear that way to the simple mind. In the rainforests of the world, where she is headquartered, she gives abundantly. She gives fruit, flowers, and foliage⦠all for her offspring to eat and to self-nourish. But at the same time, she doesnāt give a single fuck about what happens to her offspring. Imagine yourself in the Amazon rainforest. You take 10 steps in a random direction, and all of a sudden you are pounced upon by a jaguar, which begins to brutally maul you. You scream and shriek and writhe and convulse as the jaguar rips your intestines and spleen from your abdominal cavity. You plea for help as your life flickers before your eyes, and what does the Mother give you?
Her cold, silent indifference.
As your liver and guts get strewn on the forest floor, the leaves of the canopy blow in the breeze. The monkeys in the distance eat their wild fruit without a care. An anaconda slithers into the foliage, digesting an infant tapir she just swallowed. In spite of your screaming, the Motherās wonderful cosmic play carries on. This is who the Mother is. She will give you nourishment and bounty. Thereās no doubt about that. But then when youāre getting violently dismembered, she will give to you, too. But in that case, what she will give you is her eternal indifference.
To walk the path of the immaterial, liberated feminine, one must first understand that the Mother who is so lovingly spoken about is, in fact, a cruel, heartless bitch. When you look upon Mother Nature not with a sense of wonder, but instead with a sense of horror, is when you know you have spiritually matured out of the confines of the material world, where her evil is romanticized.
And to understand why this bitch Mother is the way she is, we must look at the nakshatra called Krittika.
Krittika is widely known as the ābirth of the masculine principleā, what with it being ruled by Agni Vaishvanara (āthe All-Maleā), it being associated with the patriarchal caste of the Brahmins and the Sun, and so on. But what we must recognize too is that this is where the polarized feminine is birthed. In fact, it is the Mother of the universe herself who births these dualistic binaries and paradigms. This is why Krittika is said to be the birth nakshatra of the Moon. Krittika is where Mother Nature, symbolized by the Moon, establishes her cruel, violent, ācuttingā order.
And on the subject of cruel mothers, Krittika is one of the main nakshatras that expose the abusive nature of the maternal principle. Krittika mothers are frequently abusive, and tend to advance their own agenda either in spite of their children or using their children (as pawns or footsoldiers). They tend towards tyranny and bulldoze over their childrenās wants, needs, and individualities. One perfect example in the media is the matriarch Alma Madrigal in the animated Disney film Encanto, of all movies. Abuela Alma Madrigalās voice actress has Krittika Sun, and through her actions in the film, youāll see how the maternal principle functions in an unflinchingly psychopathic way.
In a wider, universal sense, we can see this too. As I mentioned in my Ardra post, the āagendaā of life as we know it is the propagation of the molecule known as DNA. I will now be more specific and clarify that this senseless propagation of DNA is the personal agenda of Mother Nature. She doesnāt care how you do it, and she doesnāt care how much you suffer for it, as long as it is carried out. She doesnāt care if you murder other beings or if other beings murder youāas long as in the process, DNA is propagated, sheās fine with whatever. Remember the jaguar that was disemboweling you on the rainforest floor? Well, because of your internal organs and the calories they would provide to the jaguar and her cubs, the jaguars are able to propagate their DNA. All good on her end. Your screams and wails didnāt even register to her. Her agenda has been carried out, and your suffering and feelings arenāt even a footnote in the story. This is your Mother.
This psychopathic obsession with pointless reproduction really comes full circle when you look at it in the context of Krittikaās significations and associations. Krittika is associated with the priesthood and by extension, organized religion. And how does mainstream organized religion around the world see women? Nothing less and nothing more than quiet, submissive, baby-making factories. The real Children of the Birthing Moon. The āpatriarchyā installed in Krittika is in fact in service to the Mother, the Moon, who insists that all bend to her will of senseless DNA propagation. And you as a woman, are to fall in line. And once again, she doesnāt care how you do it, or what happens to you, as long as it is done. This is your Mother.
Thatās why I really cannot help but laugh when right-wing religious conservatives around the world try to paint a picture of the world as being some kind of utopia where all of the Motherās children flourish and hold hands and sing kumbaya. This is their Garden of Eden. And anybody who thinks this way is basically stuck in the āGarden of Edenā stage of perception. Most people (and most beings, for that matter), have not even left Eden. And Eden is not the paradise they think it is, because Edenās residents, also known as the Motherās children, are all busy eating each other. Itās essentially cannibalism on a cosmic scale. The Mother births all her children, and she herself is the totality of all her children and all of Creation. And so youāll see that this whole shitshow is basically a sick and pointless ritual of self-cannibalism.
And speaking of cannibalism, Krittika is the main nakshatra associated with the concept. Some of the most notorious cannibals in history are Jeffrey Dahmer (Krittika Sun), Albert Fish (Krittika Sun), Richard Chase, also known as the Vampire of Sacramento (Krittika Sun), Dorangel Vargas, also known as āEl Comegenteā or the āManeaterā in Spanish (Krittika Sun), and Alfred Packer (Krittika Moon). This cannibalistic nature of Krittika is fully embodied by dualistic existence itself, which is self-cannibalizing, as we can see from what happens in the world. The Motherās offspring are all eating each other and she fucking loves it. This is your Mother.
So to reiterate, the essence of my message today is simple:
The āDivine Motherā is a heartless bitch who does not, has never, and will never care about you. All she wants from you is for you to be the fertile, birthing Moon she made you to be. And that is why with her or in her, you will never find peace, and why we as Hags have a duty to work tirelessly against her pointlessly cruel paradigms. She is not, has never been, and never will be the Good that she is romanticized to be. To advance her agenda, she will spill your guts, rip out your throat, tear out your heart, devour your liver, no matter how much, or how loud you scream.
Because, always remember:
