One of my issues with the abusive Aang takes in Zutara fandom (behind the ooc Aang bashing) is how generic that take is. I have seen multiple fandoms, usually fandoms geared towards younger audiences, where shippers of popular fanon ships turn whichever half of the canon ship they don't ship into an abuser so they person they do ship with the other half can swoop in and save them.

I have seen this with both Inuyasha and Harry Potter. With Inuyasha, replace Katara with Kagome, Aang with Inuyasha, and Zuko with Sesshomaru. With Harry potter you could do either Hermione for Katara, Ron for Aang, and the choice of Harry, Draco, or Snape for Zuko; or yopu could do Ginny for Katara, Harry for Aang, and Draco for Zuko. The settings are different but the story plot beats are exactly the same.

Having Aang and Katara either never get together or a mutual breakup that is either no one's fault or both of their faults would lead to fanon and fanfiction that is more likely to be based on Zuko and Katara and not interchangeable characters.

Sorry to completely fucking derrail the point of your ask, but I'm not gonna lie, as someone who was once obsessed with Inuyasha as a kid (and can't remember nearly anything about it beyond "I like the main characters and the opening is awesome") the thought of Inuyasha and Kagome being shipped with anyone but each other (or at least Inuyashe being with Kikyo 'cause I very much Have A Type) immediately makes my brain go "DO NOT SPEAK THAT EVIL INTO THE WORLD." These motherfuckers didn't spend the entire anime SCREAMING each other's name into the wind only to not end up together.

Seriously, Kubo should've just maintained the sibling-like dynamic that they had cultivated from Hueco Mundo onwards. Especially since he later admitted in 2024 that they're divorced(when he stated that none of the current Captains are married in a Q&A), so their coupling was freaking pointless.

Hello again, I’m back with a somewhat similar ask to last time.

That question being what other SQUARE ENIX franchises would you like to see cross over with KH that haven’t yet and what new (as in to the series) ff characters would you like to see?

Good question! I'm mainly familiar with Final Fantasy and TWEWY so I'm going to answer based on that.

I would definitely like to see the FFXIII, FFXV, and FFXVI casts show up, since we haven't had any of the characters from those games appear in Kingdom Hearts yet. Of those three, FFXIII and FFXV are probably the most likely, since Nomura was involved with the character designs for those games, and iirc he has expressed a preference in the past for including characters he has designed (though as I say this, Yozora’s existence makes the prospect of Noctis and co. showing up more unlikely imo). The NEO TWEWY characters would be fun to see as well.

As for properties we haven't seen yet, Nier Automata could be interesting. I think the questions it raises, about what makes a human and what counts as sentience, could tie in really well with KH’s exploration of what makes a heart a heart—the androids could be shown growing their own hearts (and I mean in the abstract since of course, not a literal physical heart), therefore they are their own people by KH standards.

What characters or Square Enix properties would you like to see?

I heard that Aya Brea from Parasite Eve was supposed to be in KH1, but the staff for the game wanted Aerith, and Nomura eventually capitulated to their demands.

But I do think Aya could be interesting.

Complicated by the fact that, Parasite Eve was technically a licensed game, and while I think Square and Nomura do technically own Aya herself and her likeness and design. I don't know if the state of the Parasite Eve series and the failure of the 3rd Birthday affects anything.

For me personally I would agree with XIII and XV’s casts, other FF characters I would say would be Kefka, Cecil Harvey, and rounding out the casts from the games already featured, garland/chaos would also be interesting to see as well the big question would of course being FF1/dissidia garland or jack from FF origin?

As for other games there is parasite eve as prev brought up, and Nier which would both be interesting to see but another one I would like to bring up personally though I’m not sure if nomura would be game or even aloud to do it would be something from the big kahuna from the Enix side of SE finally Dragon Quest, I’m personally only really familiar with XI at the moment but I flipping loved XI and it’s entire cast so any of them popping up would be very cool and I know there are a lot of other great and beloved characters from the other games that I haven’t gotten to yet though I will get to them eventually. Also some other series I would like to see OCTOPATH and bravely get in as well

I've honestly wanted to see more FFIX characters like Zidane and Garnet make an appearance in Kingdom Hearts since that game's aesthetic and underlying themes seem practically tailor-made for the series. I also wouldn't mind seeing titles like Vagrant Story incorporated as well.

What's obnoxious about the crowd of Anti-GoChi naysayers is that they always default to the "He only married her because of a promise!" without paying any attention to his responses to her beforehand. We see that in their fight that Goku is visibly intrigued by her and when Yamcha gives him the simplified gist of what marriage entailed, rather than be perturbed at the idea, he's actually excited at the prospect of being with this strange, spirited girl and just wanted to know her name.

He deliberately grabbed her and took her with him when he left everyone else behind.

That doesn't reek of "oh shucks, if I gotta" to me.

Yup, Goku already decided that he liked her and enjoyed the thought of living with her before even finding out who she was. And that's further corroborated by the image above. Goku never treats his marriage with Chi-Chi as an obligation that he has to uphold - he is genuinely attracted to her and wanted to be with her of his own volition. And Super kicked the shit out of this flimsy argument with Goku openly stating he loves her, even specifically citing that her personality is what drew him to her in the first place.

Yeah, it's official: Toyo never watched/read Dragon Ball outside of GT. There's no other way to explain him being this laughably obtuse about Vegeta's character development in the OG Dragon Ball. It's just like how he also used Granolah to retread Goku's arc on what it means to him to be a "Saiyan from Earth" from the Namek Saga, and treated it as though it's revelatory to his current character; it's just character regression disguised as character progression. This interview exposes that he truly doesn't understand jack about the characters or the original source material that he bases his manga upon.

This right here. The fact that this is kept in, unaltered, despite everything that Toyotaro changed. This arc has Hedo being a genuinely dangerous criminal, and Krillin KNOWING about it, before Red Ribbon even CONTACTED him. The stupid prequel arc had Hedo engaging in more than just morally dubious experiments with corpses. This man tried to kill KIDS. This man was willing to murder, steal, destroy to get what he wanted. This man was not the childish genius initially manipulated by his love for superheroes. This Hedo is a menace. Krillin knows it. Krillin spent literally the entirety of that prequel arc hunting down this man. He saw his crimes firsthand and even had to help stop one of his creations. Why on EARTH would Toyotaro just leave this in like that? It makes ZERO narrative sense at all, it makes Krillin especially, and everyone ELSE for that matter, look like complete and utter idiots. Even 18's response is somehow just reduced to... this.

That is the extent of her anger at this situation, and Krillin's comments that he was manipulated. All this, they don't even have Hedo admit that he did figure out RR was lying but wanted to keep using their funding, they just legit paint him as a victim of manipulation and after ALL this additional info... THIS.

THIS is the man whose writing people are trying to claim surpassed Toriyama's own. I'm... done. I'm just done. If you don't have the media literacy to see the MASSIVE narrative problems with Toyotaro's manga at this point, you're a lost cause.

So, he backtracks on the manga characterization he established for Hedo by superficially adhering to parts of Toriyama's movie script, even though it makes no cohesive sense to do so since it completely contradicts Hedo's previous actions and intentions within the context of the manga's given narrative. This is so pathetically typical of Toyotaro's writing. Whenever he writes himself into a corner, he drops pre-established concepts that he himself devised in the next chapter or arc and prays that the readers are stupid enough not to pay attention. Just like he did with: Zenkai Boosts, Perfected Super Saiyan Blue, Ultra Instinct, Vegeta learning (and forgetting) Spirit Control/Instant Transmission, etc. And yes, if anyone has any delusions that he's a good writer - let alone for Dragonball -, they have the literary comprehension of a hamster. He should go back to writing fan doujinshi or stick to Dragonball Heroes (since its complete lack of reverence for canon is right up his alley).

As a fellow Spider-Man fan, I wanted to know what your stance is about Miles taking over for Peter while he's taking his break and trying to get his civilian life together. Everyone went into an uproar (to put it mildly) when the article dropped and suggested that Miles was permanently taking Pete's position as the main protagonist. Bryan Intihar set everyone straight on Twitter that it wasn't the case. Some fans also seem to be insistent that Pete shouldn't get a break because as Spider-Man since he has a responsibility to the world, suggesting that his own personal responsibilities towards himself and his emotional/mental wellbeing don't matter to them. And it's weird to hear that since these are the same fans that have been complaining to Marvel Comics for decades that Pete deserves a modicum of happiness in his everyday life after all of the shit that he's gone through since OMD (and especially with the Zeb Wells run). I just don't understand what's going on with this community.

Did Bryan clarify that? If he did I must have missed it. That being said, I don't necessarily think it's inherently bad for Peter to take a break to try to recoup from some trauma for a minute, repair some relationships, and try to keep Harry's dream alive for him to potentially come back to. Especially since he's even said Miles can call him for anything he thinks he needs help with. Peter's not completely abdicating his responsibilities at all. On top of that, with the teases at the end, and some of the dangling plot threads left after this game, as well as some of the thematic questions posed, we're not seeing the last of Peter by a long shot. They've got too much on the table for him to not be Spider-Man anymore. The next game may be JUST Miles, perhaps a MM2 scenario, and then another full game where it STARTS with Miles flying solo, but I guarantee Peter is going to be back, and make a splash to boot. Besides, when your game series plays so well off of how they can co-exist and what a great team they make together, I don't see why you'd just toss that out as some suggest. Give the narrative team a little credit here. lol

Sadly, this is what happens when you base your entire opinion of a character solely on memes, old dub-only lines, a parody’s interpretation of said-characters and your own distorted headcanon.
