Some things will always be more important than the truth.

Why does Kazuha just sniffs things sometimes
I love that Heizou is just some guy compared to Kazuha and Gorou
When I was designing these dresses, I found both options interesting. So I kept them as alternatives.

FROZEN // FROZEN 2: Still not over the fact they put so many parallels with Kristoff and Hans in the 1st movie to show how Anna and Elsa have grown
Elsa was a helpless figure, now she is watching a helpless figure.
Anna was the one they were running to save, now she's running to save others.
That's the growth you want to show, am I right?
Not only that: Hans risked his life following Elsa in the snowstorm, yet he knew how to stop her, (saying that Anna died because of her). Elsa, on the other end, risked her life diving deeper into Ahtohallan, without knowing what truth she would find, but doing it anyway.
Regarding Kristoff and Anna, they are not only running to reach someone/something: that specific shot is the exact same, with Kristoff risking to be crushed by that ship, as Anna risks to be crushed by an Earth Giant fist.
Hans' words "You can't run from this!" may be like an echo to the Ahtohallan scene too: you can't run from the truth.
Well, if we think about it, Elsa uselessly tried to stop Runeard memory from killing the Northuldra leader. In some ways, Hans words are true, and are also in relation with All is Found:
But can you brave what you most fear?
There is also a deeper irony between the two scenes, considering that Runeard was one of Arendelle previous rulers before Elsa, and Hans was litteraly trying to kill her to become king, and both scenes were on the fjord.
Everything reconnects with the first movie, that's why, personally, these narrative choices are far too specific and self-referencing not to consider some possibilities for the future.
Elsa is now that heroic figure Hans was trying to be by killing her, but as the protector of the North, while Anna did anything in her power to save others putting herself in danger, just like Kristoff did trying to save her life (Anna even rides Sven after K saves her), and proving to be a even better leader for Arendelle.
I understand you don't like the idea, but I sincerly believe this more suited to expand the duality between humans and magic thanks to Anna & Elsa new roles after what has been enstablished with this movie and how deep the events of the past can influence the present.
Sincerly, to me, the directors created the perfect basis for a new installmeant with how their family heritage and its echos resonate with the events of the first Frozen:
To me, this is how you prove that there is a fine line between considering the events of the first movie as truely done, and instead opening to the possibility that, just as those events were an echo of the past, than there could be more about the new present Anna & Elsa are living.
After all, as the directors said themselves:
"Frozen and Frozen 2 form one complete story."
That's why I have the feeling there could be much more to work on, considering also certain questions and doubts of the audience about the first movie.
Okay, I understood your point of view; but do you want Hans to be redeemed?
Yeah, but to do so, other things need to be there, and sincerly I want to see him finally interact with Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, most importantly, confronting the mountain man, considering how their lives went in so opposite directions with the events of the first movie.
I thought you wanted him to remain just villain.
No no, it's the opposite. Having this hope for Hans in the future is the reason why I think creating this whole backstory about Arendelle and its implications on Anna & Elsa is even more significant than just considering the single adventure itself: when I look back at how it resonates and echos with what happened in F1 (as the directors intended) it makes clear to me that these truths Elsa & Anna discover can be repurposed for the future in the same way F1 is costantly referenced and put into parallel with the protagonists growth.
Frozen breaks the tropes, that is the's reason why I think giving some spotlight to Kristoff & Hans in a third installmeant would make sense for Anna & Elsa: what happens when the Love Interest the Leader is meant to marry and the Villain the Protector expects to eradicate forever are the ones this time that can bring a new prespective on things?
To clearify: I'm putting it down in a generic way, obviously, but I think, with the right direction, things can get quite interesting.
*stubbornly* Maybe, I see your reasons; but still the Enchanted Forest must to be involved too, first and foremost. It's a part of Elsa as a person.
Yes, of course. One of my ideas for example is that Hans runs away from the Southern Isles and reaches the Enchanted Forest itself, but he is hunted down by his brothers, and this allerts the Spirits = involving Elsa. Psychologicaly speaking, this fits with what Elsa discovered about King Runeard, thinking that the Southern Isles are there to invade the forest and put the Northuldra in danger ... most importantly if Hans was there, hidden somewhere, and Elsa has to face him (defeating the threat).
Or, maybe, rewakaning the Enchanted Forest and freeing it from the Mist awoke some ancient magical creature and/or power that lives in the Southern Isles ...
Or, again, King Runeard had some alliance with the Isles before he died and Agnarr became Arendelle's King ...
I have the head canon that the Southern Isles are a kingdom that routes its culture and beliefes in Legends (the third form of narration after Fairytale and Myth) about its heroes and kings fighting magical creatures, and that is why Hans reaction to Elsa's magic is different from everybody else (most importantly the Duke of Weselton) and he knows how to handle the situation
Surely, with how the Enchanted Forest changed the protagonists, made them face such a dangerous and dark situation, and broke the status quo, well, that premise is perfect for handling Hans now, it fits his situation now that he has lost everything.
"The Enchanted Forest changed the protagonists"
Hmm, really. The place of transformation–I've never though about it in regarding to Hans. And what if Elsa needed to save Hans, her enemy as Iduna did decades ago? It would be an impressive parallel.
Elsa saving Hans would be so beautiful T_T
And yes, Anna and Elsa grown so much from the first movie, and it’s sooo amazing! :)

Hans 20 Years Later? by nasubionna Ok, super secret drawing for you is finally done, Gingerhaole! I really hope I didn’t miss the boat on this one, since I’ve had it in my head since you mentioned this idea for Hans’s possible redemption to me ages ago, and since then you’ve mentioned that you’re kind of over seeing Hans on your dash. So I hope this isn’t too disappointing. :/ Anyway, Lily is a much better person than I am. She likes to hope for Hans’s redemption, and she had the idea that perhaps he could be put to work in the stables back in his own country, and perhaps through years of humble servitude he might finally learn some compassion and empathy. It’s a nice idea, and one can hope that maybe he can turn his life around… but I don’t think it will come easily or quickly. This is probably the kindest portrait I will ever do of Hans, so I hope the Hans fans out there enjoy! :) Copic marker on Paper.
