Kindness literally costs nothing, and yet people are hell bent on being mean spirited and ungrateful. It’s so sad that a bunch of inaccurate accusations and horrible comments made someone as wonderful and supportive as @pottinglilies-deactivated202202 feel unwelcome here. There’s enough shit out there in the real world without people on the internet making you feel like crap about your passion/hobby too.
Wrongly accusing people of plagiarism when you don’t know the facts is just fucking sad.
My heart is breaking here today.
I don’t care who you are, if you send death threats to people you are a literal piece of shit.
I just want to add that this shouldn’t be a reflection on mightbewriting!
No one should receive death threats, it’s not okay, and mbw specifically requested that friends/fans of her work not ‘dogpile’ on the author, regardless of what may have happened; that the space remain positive!
For people to send death threats is disgusting.
Hi there OP, I agree. Kindness is free, and it’s a main tenet of my online presence. I understand feeling frustration and grief for a confusing situation involving a friend. Unfortunately that friend, however wonderful and supportive they may have been to you, was also engaged in activities that were hurtful and malicious to others. Those two realities aren’t mutually exclusive. So while I’m sorry for the shock you’re probably feeling right now, I think immediately shouting about inaccurate plagiarism accusations only adds harm to and already unpleasant situation. The accusations aren’t inaccurate. If anything, they were understated. I would encourage you to dig into a comparison of Already, Again and my own work, Wait and Hope. I’m confident the results speak for themselves. Furthermore, you may find a comparison of between the stacks and chapter five of Lovebitca8’s The Right Thing To Do illuminating. Patterns of repeated behavior aren’t accidental. Again, I want to emphasize what I’ve said from the beginning, which is that dogpiling and abuse are never okay.
If we’re talking about facts, I just want to add a few. Death threats over an online community are never okay. Neither is theft of another creator’s words. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
Reblogging again for this context ^^^^
