What if Hopper adopted Mike.

Jim Hopper who finds a run away boy in the woods and decides to take him in to fill the whole that Sara left.

The boys name is Mike and he ran away because his parents constantly argued and his dad kept making homophobic comments about him and his best friend Will (who Hopper thinks is more than just a simple best friend)

Hopper decides to raise Mike in his cabin and Mike takes on his last name.

Hopper teaches Mike survival skills and becomes the father figure that Mike never had while in Turk Mike fills the empty space in Hoppers cabin with his high energy. (Karen keeps in touch with Mike her and Hop are basically coparenting him)

Years later Mike finds a girl in the woods and decides to bring her home the girl becomes Mikes sister and helps them find Will who goes missing.
