Yeah I watched the gay Minecraft arg.
Personally SFAWTDE/DAWTDE, don’t torch me.
I saw it as more of a friendship/bromance, as in Avery and Drelord haven’t seen much of each other to really make a romantic connection to me, don’t get me wrong it’s still pretty fruity but I was more fond of the idea that these two were bros.
BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN I HATE THE SHIP I ACTUALLY AM VERY FOND OF THE IDEA OF THE SHIP AND I ACTUALLY LEGITIMATELY LIKE IT but lowkey the characters and the portrayal of their bond is more bromance to me. I’m here for both basically, them being bros and them being bros plus handholding. Okay? Okay.
But I have an idea. Stay with me here.
Dark ending with yearning and a splash of mystery? OKAY. STICK WITH ME.
I saw so much fanart and such that tackled the idea that Avery becomes the vessel for the King in Yellow and is all evil yet he still yearns for Drelord and Drelord yearns for him and I am a sucker for yearning and sadness SO-
Avery is taken mind body and soul, he is now a vessel for the King in Yellow. To be clear, the king in yellow sometimes takes over his body to do eldritch horror shit but he does leave, when he does Avery has fun control over his body and has his own free will, he is still Avery just…unhinged. And loyal to the King in Yellow.
He acts like a prophet. He leaves Minecraft and goes into the real world spreading his influence and getting people apart of his cult so they can become ready for the arrival of the King.
He is spreading his influence like a disease and soon…they all will bow down to the king.
But…Even though he has now a loyal cult, even though he has all of knowledge at the tips of fingers…he still wants him.
So he sits down, logs into Minecraft and searches for the man that was left behind.
This version of Minecraft is broken, no longer normal Minecraft but a totally different game where there’s new areas to explore. Avery has to track him down every time.
It gets annoying but it’s worth it to see him. Then he does. The lord that knows all. The lord that keeps escaping his grasp. Drelord.
He stands alone overlooking the void.
“Drelord? Derek?”
He sees him flinch. He can’t help but enjoy the reaction.
“Come on, Derek…look at me.”
Drelord doesn’t and still looks at the void.
“This is sad you know…this whole staying in Minecraft…letting your body rot away…not letting me help you.”
No words are muttered by the lord.
“Can’t you just accept you failed? And that’s okay! I’m better now! The world is going to be better now! Just…let me help you Derek…”
He came closer to Derek. He was standing side by side with him. He wanted to actually see the man but he would have to settle for this for now…
“This whole cat and mouse thing Derek…it’s tiring…sending people after you…you constantly getting away from my grasp. The only way I can have you near me is in this forsaken game…”
He hesitated.
“At least it brought me to you.”
He wanted Derek to look at him. He desperately just wanted him to say…SOMETHING.
“Come now Derek…you think you could’ve won against a GOD? That was foolish…yet so brave of you to try…to try and save me.”
He came closer. He wanted to actually touch him. To hug him. To hold him hand…
To kill him.
“You know you can’t hide from me forever…you know whoever is helping you hide from me will betray you eventually…then you will have to be with me because I’m the only one to help you.”
“Because…You and I are in the same boat.”
There was silence. Then he moved.
Drelord looked away from the void to look at him.
Avery felt a part of him jump out of his skin. He finally FINALLY looked at him.
“You will never have me.”
He then jumped into the void.
Letting it consume him whole as he died.
His death message on Avery’s screen lingered there for a while until it disappeared.
Avery looked on.
“I knew that would happened…I just hoped…”
He paused. Then he smiled.
“Oh right…I forgot.”
Drelord felt the tiredness hit him.
He wanted to sleep but how could he. He can’t. He can’t he can’t he can’t he can’t he can’t he can’t. He just can’t.
He needed to stay alive, to stay away to find something, anything to stop him.
But as he respawned he was somewhere new.
Each time he died in Minecraft he was somewhere new. Which helped with the whole…mind breaking knowledge thing, that he was constantly seeing new things and his mind wasn’t constantly snapping…he was able to try and do some stuff…emphasis on try.
But as he looked around it look familiar.
A spruce forest? Snow riddled the ground and the sky above was snowing. Odd…it looked…normal.
Nothing like the library labyrinth nor the void less world he was lost in constantly…this place was…
“Derek?”
…Shit.
He turned around and saw him.
He stood behind him. He thought he would leave after that. He always left after he rejected him.
“I know what you’re thinking. And I know.”
He said as he walked up to a tree.
“But let’s just…pretend. For just awhile. Let’s pretend…”
He punched the tree and got a log and quickly made a crafting table.
Drelord looked on. Not moving an inch.
“Come on. Let’s go somewhere less cruddy.”
Avery beckoned for him to follow.
Drelord…He didn’t know what to say or do.
He was finally stumped on what to say or do.
He looked at the crafting table and took it. Taking the lead.
Avery followed behind as they disappeared into the woods.
