Minegods is a Minecraft AU, the main difference of which is that most species have some type of god figure representing them.

These gods ascend after death. Waking up in their respective godhood council. They cannot be killed by mortals. Only their own kind.

There are 3 Councils.

The Monster Council

The Animal Council

And The Extinct Council (Also called The Third Council)

The Monster Council is our main focus. The gods currently alive include:

I probably forgot some rip. There are some that don't have names yet (The Creaking God, Slime God etc) but I didn't know how to include them-

Some random important things to note for this AU:

It takes place in a modded, sort of vanilla+ universe. It also has more crafting recipes, food, mobs, biomes etc.

Very rarely, non Bi-ped mobs (Animals like pigs and rabbits, Ghasts, Slimes, Sniffers etc) can be born Bi-ped! In some species it happens so commonly they're referred to as their own species. Like Anthro pigs being called Pigmen!

(Have fun hearing some math losers,) The world of Minegods moves in Minecraft time. In our time it would've started in the classic versions, Specifically 0.0.22a_05. a bit before Creepers and Pigs were added. June 29 2009. In the real world a Minecraft Day lasts 20 minutes. 10 minutes a day and 10 minutes a night. And there are 72 20 minutes segments per 24 hours. And, as of Jan 25th, 6054 days have passed since June 29th 2009. Meaning the minegods universe has existed for 435744 days, or almost 1194 years. They do refer to the year as 1194 and their new years would take place in June. (I'll probably still make new years posts on new years that take place in June tho fight me)

All Species are Sentient. From Zombies to Golems! Zombies, Skeletons and other undead mobs can suffer from rotting brains which can cause them to have less general intelligence and cognitive abilities than living mobs. But can still communicate, walk and function!

No 1 Species is inherently evil. Every Species has to live and eat which can lead to certain species disliking each other.

Jean is the Ender Dragon. She doesn't leave the end and is the last of her kind. Her egg is unfertilized, but she has no way of knowing. So she cares for it.

This AU contains incredibly dark topics. Tbh I probably won't get into the HEAVVYYYYY shit until I'm more comfortable but some of the tws for now include:

And also some other stuff because this is still a Minegods Blog.

So, Minegods takes place in a modded version of Minecraft. Most of the additions are sort of Vanilla Plus stuff. Usually not brand new things, unless it's from a new biome, But most of the additions include building on other existing things and readding unused and unimplemented features cause that's a huge part of my Minecraft Special Interest. If you can't tell I'm horrible at Writing Blogs.

Also, the stuff here is written pretty specifically cause I did want it to still be specifically Minegods. Of course if you use these you can change them however you want!

⚜️ Rose Gold

Rose Gold is made by combining 4 Gold ingots and 4 Copper ingots for 3 Rose Gold. Which then has to be smelted to get Rose Gold Ingots! Armor made with Rose Gold has an INCREDIBLY high Enchantment stat, Places in-Between Copper and Gold in terms of Strength and Protection, And is the same as Gold in terms of durability. It's main appeal in-universe is it's pink coloring. Which is often used for Trims. It's used as a trim in very rich bastions in the nether as well!

⚔️ Sword Plating

Sword Plating is essentially a more expensive Trim, but for your Sword! It costs 2 ingots to make. And the plating has to be applied with a smithing table! Basically, It allows you to have any style sword you want with any strength you want! For example, if you had an iron sword with Netherite plating it would do Netherite amounts of damage! It still keeps the original sword's durability though!

Minegods has a LOT of foods. Including Cakes! Carrot Cake, Sweetberry Cake, Glowberry Cake, Chocolate Cake, Pumpkin Cake, Honey Cake and Golden Cake! (made with Golden Apples, Glowberries and Honey!)

🌿 Creeper Variants

Creepers are made of leaves, and as such have different variants! Creepers in Caves are Lush Creepers, They have yellowish leaves and are usually covered in azalea flowers. Pale Garden Creepers have white Leaves, Cherry Blossom Creepers have Pink Leaves, Taiga Creepes have Darker Leaves etc! Very, Very Old Creepers are usually dark in color. (Reference to their Alpha Designs!)

💎 Bluestone

Bluestone was originally a rendering error in a Minecraft Update Announcement. Which led people to believe it would come to the game! In Minegods, Bluestone has a similar rarity to Diamond, But drops multiples like Redstone. It's used to power all the devices that realistically, redstone couldn't. Like Phones.

👑 Kingdoms

Kingdoms exist in both the Nether and Overworld. Nether Kingdoms are commonly in Forest or Waste Biomes. And tend to be very omni-species. Unlike Fortresses and Bastions.

Writing this down both for me and for other Minecraft AU (Or even ARG) creators!

Cool things you can base a fictional cult/religion in Minecraft over:

Jean the Ender Dragon, Her egg, The End Crystals or the end in general.

The Farlands. If they aren't in your universe they absolutely should be /hj

Any of the boss or more powerful mobs. The Warden, Wither, Elder Guardian etc.

The Nether. Like maybe a group sacrifices things into the portal and something on the other side throws things through.

Totems Of Undying. I feel like the fact they look like an Illager isn't talked about enough.

Enchantment Tables & Brewing Stands.

Some of the rarer mobs could also be good, especially for religions/cults of Villagers. Like Creakings, Camel Husks etc.

OR, if it's Nether Mobs, they can worship something from the overworld! Like a cow that wandered through a portal!

Was writing the bottom part when I thought of an honestly REALLY good one. One based around Golden Dandelions and the idea of eternal youth/life.

I was about to post this when I thought of another. Yk the removed Dreams Dimension? A religion/cult in a story or even ARG based around that would be fire

Would like to specify a bit that this was written with the ideas of it being used in my AU, where there are 2 species that are actually prone to religion, Piglins and Villagers. So I was mostly thinking about them and other mobs, not players.

Another good tip is think about what dimension their in. And if they have access to other ones. For example if a group in the nether with no access to the Overworld found a chicken (Which yes do spawn naturally there) which produced food in the form of eggs, they might worship it!

Religion

Religion in Minegods is most common with species who tend to live in groups. So Piglins, Villagers, illagers etc. Though of course other species can develop religious beliefs based on family and location.

No one really knows exactly what happens after death. So religion is a way some species cope with that. Religion based around Jean, The Ender Dragon is common. Most religions around her believe after death, you go to the end.

There are also religions based around The Goddess Of Life. Although I imagine her being actually seen by mortals is incredibly rare. These religions vary a lot more. Since less about The Goddess Of Life is generally known by mortals.

Worshipping specific gods is also common. Usually a species own god (Like Piglins worshipping Brutus) However these religions are usually much smaller. As Gods aren't usually really seen as gods, and more like protective figures for the species.

The Worship of Legends and Myths. Like The Further Beast and Dangling Horse are more rare. But I imagine do exist. I could also see Villagers specifically worshipping Creaking, since their also seen as a folktale by them.

I hope you all found this interesting! I might actually write more about a Jean Oriented Religion since that sounds fun.

actually it's very implied that most ores in minecraft have magical properties. lapis is the most obvious, considering it's used in the enchanting table, and is necessary for enchanting items. but diamonds are too, because you need them to craft an enchanting table in the first place.

and then there's gold — gold is the most enchantable ore in the game. it is a game mechanic that gold tools enchant better than other tools. every enchantable item has an enchantability level — and gold is by far the highest, at 22 for tools and 25 for armor.

there's a lot of interesting stuff about enchantability that implies quite a bit about magic though! maces, leather and wood have an enchantability of 15, which is higher than all the ores, EXCEPT for netherite which also has an enchantability of 15 (which implies that netherite scraps/debris lower the enchantability of the gold in the combination). iron has 14, 9 for armor, copper has 13, 8 for armor, chainmail has 12, diamond has 10 for both — which is the lowest out of all the ores! then turtle shell comes in at 9, stone at 5, and the rest enchantable items (book, trident, crossbow, bow and fishing rod) are all at 1 (which implies a lot of stuff about wood and how less of it + combined with other stuff lowers the enchantability — which is also something implied with gold in netherite).

but! despite that, most ores (exceptions of redstone, coal, and lapis) can be used to power beacons in block form, and activate them in item form. beacons in general are also really interesting because of the requirement of obsidian + nether star to craft them (and the everything that goes into withers).

and of course there's redstone. redstone is its entire own thing that can be used to activate and deactivate things with power lines and various other components. i don't really know much about redstone so i can't really speak about it much, i just know "you activate it and it does things". it's like minecraft electricity/computing/engineering to me. it's also dark magic to me. i don't understand it.

quartz is interesting though, becuse there's not really much magical about it other than the absurds amounts of experience you can get from mining it (saved my mending tools quite a few times...). there's still something about it that really interests me though.

Not sure if I'll add this to Minegods or not. But to add to this:

I was thinking "Well besides the Beacon, how could Iron how magical properties?" And then I remembered. Iron Golems.

Maybe, While Copper Golems are powered by electricity. (Still pretty magic most likely. Since it'd just be the lightning rod on their head) Iron in Minecraft generates its own energy?

I've been trying to think of how Diamonds could have any magical properties. And honestly I think it's similar to iron in that it just kinda radiates energy and that does things?

This is for a few reasons. But the main one is that it's used in a few magical crafting recipes. It's used to make enchantment tables for one. Along with that Jukeboxes. Which I think the fact they amit a redstone signal when they have music playing counts as some type of magical energy. And than along with that 7 diamonds, a Nether rack and 1 netherite smithing template can just clone another one. I feel like there's non-magic explanations for that but still.

And then Netherite literally crawls from the depths of hell.

Really the only ore that has doesn't any real magical properties outside of beacons (That I know of) is Coal.

You could maybe make an argument for fire charges but I'd argue the blaze powder is what makes em magic
