My kid eternity design I tried to merge all designs of him. Also trying to read all of his comics because I need to efficiently hate on the newer take of him/the title (because they made him a title #OkBro) ((I really really hate when hero’s have that like I get it but at the same time I have insane beef with how people chose to write it))

My greatest struggle (/sarc) is that I do not like Billy joins Batfam fics.

It just feels like a misreading of his character. I can't properly explain it. It's like, this character has gone as far as being his own legal guardian (certainly committing identity fraud in the process) to avoid being adopted. Being taken in by Bats would not be a happy ending for him.

"Oh but it's about Billy finally feeling safe enough to accept support and help" Billy has a family. He has siblings and an uncle and a wizard and a tiger and a 'villain'. He has a support system already. Billy doesn't handle things alone, he just also doesn't abide by a traditional family dynamic that looks familiar as 'support'.

Imagine being being traumatized and used since you were essentially a toddler with no true sense of self identity and then having to uproot your whole life, move to a whole other continent, to live with strangers who clearly don’t like you and expect you to assimilate to their way of life even though they don’t explain it to you and saw that everything that you’ve learned is wrong. And when you put your whole being in learning how to act like them and learning the right way of doing things. you never get the recognition for all the effort you put in and get insulted, the strangers your supposed to see as family often using your insecurities to put you down.

And even after you finish your redemption arc the fandom treats your entire personality as “Tim drake hater”

The only thing I despise the New 52 for is it's writing of Freddy Freeman. Both in the comics and the movies. The movies at least had the decency to get his appearance correct.

Freddy is two parts righteous anger, one part playful banter, and one part depression.

Freddy Freeman will nearly kill a man in an act of vengeance. Freddy Freeman will destroy entire units of armies while smiling. Freddy Freeman has faced the death penalty with a grin. Freddy Freeman has dragged himself across frozen streets while dying of hypothermia in order to get to the Rock of Eternity to save the world. Freddy Freeman has survived being left for dead in sub-zero temperatures in a Nazi camp. Freddy Freeman plays pranks on his siblings and neighbours. Freddy Freeman goes out of his way to do good, even in his mortal form. Freddy Freeman has a talent for working with animals. Freddy Freeman is an orphan who rents a room in boarding house because he can't afford any better. Freddy Freeman is poorer, more vulnerable, more oppressed, and more angry than the other two og Marvels.

To sand away so much of that and turn him into a loveable dork who does have moments of heroic desperation but is almost exclusively comic relief feels... idk, boring? They focused on the least important part of his character, his humour, over everything that made Freddy Freddy. Like even if boring the blatant political implications of what they did, it's just boring storytelling to sand off everyone else's edges so Billy can be the edgiest and saddest in the room. I like loveable forks as much as the next guy, but the Batson twins were always closer to that than Freddy. Hell, Cissie is right there and is lovely as an option for loveable dork.

Lowkey disappointed that they brought back Hoppy in 2022, but none of Freddy's animal companions have come back.

Mary has Hoppy, Billy has Tawny, and Freddy can't have Jeep? Jeep was fun. Gimme Jeep, DC. Please.

Billy Batson, pre reveal and pre reunion, unable to tell anyone who he really is, and thusly, has very lonely birthdays.

At first, the rest of the Justice League think Captain Marvel just likes privacy. That his refusal to share his birthday is because he doesn't want to leak any bit of his identity. But a rumor starts that he doesn't tell anyone because he has trauma related to the date. Whispers around the Watchtower whenever Captain is particular down that maybe that day is his birthday, and they walk on eggshells for a the whole day.

In reality... Billys birthday is February 29th. A leap year date. He doesn't even technically have a birthday most years, so he isnt super offended when no one tells him happy birthday the few times it does come around.

And yet... every non leap year... the night of February 28th, just as March 1st dawns, he blows out a single candle on a cupcake he bought with WHIZ money, all alone. A tiny little flame burnt out by loneliness.

And Freddy is on Mars guys, trust me. Every year, he goes to Mars for the end of February.

Because it's not like Billy knows Freddy before he meets Mary. No. Not at all.
