Content S.1 E.2 After the discovery of the strange girl the Wheelers have to keep going with their lifes even when everything’s gets weird.
A/N Sooooo… how has it been? Me? Great! Only took me about a year to write the second chapter but I finally got it!
Masterlist || Part 1.
Rain and thunder wielded outside, not having calmed down since the five have left the forest. They have managed to bring the girl to the Wheeler house, in the basement. Reader had given her his jacket to warm up. Currently she was breathing heavily. „Is there a number we can call, for your parents?" Reader questioned, kneeling before the couch. He was comfortable distant away to not scare the child.
„Where's your hair? Do you have cancer?" Dustin noted, not noticing the glare the young adult sent him. „Did you run away?" Lucas asked next. „Are you in some kind of trouble?" Reader's brother speculated. Just as the older Wheeler was about to shut them down, Lucas saw something. „Is that blood?" The boy went to reach for it, but his hand was swatted away by Reader, „Stop it you guys. You're freaking her out!" he told them.
„She's freaking me out!" Sinclair fired back. Dustin came up with another solution. „I bet she's deaf." Suddenly he clapped his hands together, making the girl flinch back. „Not deaf."
„All right, that enough!" The older Wheeler announced, turning his upper body to them. „She's just scared and cold. Mike, bring me some of your clothes. There, in the basket." He pointed to it. The boy did as he was told and brought it, handing it to the girl. „Here."
She took them. Then she stood up and went to take off her shirt but was stopped by them. They all shouted 'No.' and the younger boys panicked. Reader stood up and approached her, coaxing her away. „See over there? That's the bathroom, there you can change, okay?" She looked a bit confused but took the clothes and went to the room. The young adult followed her, and attempted to close the door. Though, her hand stopped him. „You don't want it closed?"
„No." Her answer was clear. Behind him Mike appeared, “Oh, so you can speak." Reader sighed as he pushed the boy back by his head. With as much softness he could gather, he turned back to the girl.
„How about we just keep the door..." He slowly inched it to close but stopped when there was still a bit open. „Just like this. Is that better?" She agreed. The young man nodded and smiled at her. „Good, then, I'll just stand here, with my back to you of course. Take your time." As much as he trusted his brother and his friends, he didn't want to step away from the frightened child, especially with an opened door with her changing.
The three boys meanwhile argued about the mysterious person in the bathroom. Thinking about the possibilities where she could have come from and what happened to her. They came to a conclusion to keep her a secret, as they couldn't tell their mothers. Because they shouldn't have snuck out in first place.
After a while she came out in dry clothes. Reader pulled her to the side as he told the boys to build her something to sleep on. But, to his disappointment, they build a igloo out of blankets and chairs. To their credit, he just said something to sleep for.
Soon after Lucas and Dustin left, having enough of the girl. Now, it was only Mike, the girl and Reader. „Hey, we've never asked for your name." Mike came to conclusion. She pulled up the sleeve of the pullover, showing them the mark on her wrist.
Reader felt a rush of shock run down his back. He felt disturbed as he came eye-to-eye with a tattoo on an underage girl. „Is that real?" His brother immediately asked, leaning in to see better.
Eleven, or rather '011', pulled back her wrist. Mike apologized but still had a smile on. „Sorry, I've just... never seen a kid with a tattoo before." On that Reader could agree. „What does it mean? Eleven?"
She pointed to herself a few times. „That's your name?" The younger boy asked, but it sounded like a statement. She nodded. „Eleven. okay." Mike repeated. Reader though, was worried, as to why a child would be named after a number. He didn't voice his concern.
„Um, well, my name's Mike. Short for Michael. And he is Reader. But maybe we can you ‘El'. Short for Eleven." He sounded slightly hopeful, finding his idea good. To his luck, El agreed by nodding. „Um, well, okay." The young adult deadpanned. His brother stutters so much. „Night, El." The boy got a respond from the girl after he stood up, „Night, Mike." The oldest smiled at the girl. „Tomorrow morning we'll check on you. Till then you must stay here. Okay?"
Eleven nodded „Goodnight, El." He whispered, faintly hearing her whisper it back, „Night, Reader." The young adult covered the entrance of the igloo with the rest of the blanket. Mike and his brother went up the staircase, but not before turning the lights off. That night the young adult couldn’t sleep well. Knowing that a child was missing and an unknown child was down in the basement, with her name being a number.
The next day, at breakfast, Mike was basically slurping down the waffles from his plate. „Slow down, Mike. That's disgusting." Nancy pointed out, disgusted. Mike wasn't about to let it go. „Do a lot of studying last night?" Referring to Steve that the brothers caught sneaking in last night. „Yeah, actually, I did." She answered, confused for a bit. „What was your test on again? Human anatomy?" Then, she realized what he meant. Nancy kicked him under the table, and he did the gesture right back. Which was obviously noticed by their family.
„Hey, what's going on?" Their mother spoke up, not knowing what their problem was. They both replied at the same time, „Nothing." And went back to eating. Reader meanwhile was watching them with a smirk. This time the older brother didn’t go along to check on their guest. He woke up late and still had to get ready. „Michael, where are you? We're going to be late. Let's go." Karen shouted through the house, warning the boy.
As the two older Wheeler siblings arrived at Hawkins high school, they didn't part ways. Reader didn't have the energy to do anything that day, so he stayed with his sister. And well, her friend. „When alpha particles go through gold foil, they become..." Barb asked his sister. „Unoccupied space." Nancy immediately replied. „A molecule that can-" The red haired was cut off as someone took the cards from her.
„Ehh. I think you've studied enough, Nance." Harrington told her, looking at the cards. „Steve-" He didn't listen to her. „I'm telling you, you know, you got this. Don't worry. Now, on to more important matters. My dad has left town for a conference and my mom's gone with him, cause, you know, she doesn't trust him."
„Good call." One of Steve’s friends, Tommy, replied. Reader merely glanced at him for a second, remembering how he also hooked up with him and his girlfriend, Carol. Luckily, that was once and never again. „So, are you in?" Harrington asked, a tad bit nervous. „In for what?" Nancy was either oblivious, or just dumb. Reader didn't know.
The girlfriend of the friend, Carol, instead told her. „No parents? Big house?" Slowly, Nancy looked at her boyfriend again, unsure. „A party?" „Ding, ding, ding." The female dinged. While Tommy chuckled at her answer.
„It's Tuesday." The Wheeler sister reminded them. But the friend mocked her, „It's Tuesday! Oh my god." Reader’s gaze hardened. He held himself back to make any comment toward the boy. Last time it didn't end good for him after he beat someone up in defense for his sister. No one was allowed to make fun of his sister. Only Mike and he.
The two, Carol and Timmy, laughed, while Steve tried to convince the girl. „Come on. It'll be low key. It'll be just us. What do you say? Are you in or are you out?" Harrington glanced back at Barb and Reader. Nancy was conflicted. „Uhm..." „Oh, god. Look." Carol suddenly mentioned something behind them. „Oh, God, that's depressing." Steve commented.
They saw Jonathan Byers hang up a missing poster on the note board. Reader felt a pang of sadness rush through him. He could only imagine how cruel it must be to lose one's sibling.
„Should we say something?" His sister asked no one in particular. „I don't think he speaks." Carol told them what she thought. Timmy turned to look at his friend. „How much you wanna bet he killed him?" „Shut up." Steve slightly punched him in the arms.
Suddenly Nancy went over to the boy. Reader watched her for a bit before leaving the group to stand behind his sister. "Hey." She started, startling the Byers boy. "Oh, hey." "I just..." She clearly didn't think about what to say. Her brother got slight secondhand embarrassment. To his luck, she did gather the right words. "I wanted to say, you know, uhm... I'm sorry about everything."
Reader gathered the courage to speak up too, "Me too. You know, if you need a hand, you can always count on me..." Boy, did the Wheeler boy cringe at his words. Especially after the way Jonathan glanced toward the group behind them. "Everyone's thinking about you." The older twin didn't know if she was trying to inform him or trying to make herself more friendly. "It sucks." Well, whatever that means. Reader was officially lost.
Jonathan slightly shrugged his shoulders. "Yeah." For a short few seconds, it was silence. "I'm sure he's fine. He's a smart kid." Nancy reassured him, glancing at the poster. Suddenly the bell rang, and the students around them began to move to their classes, which made Nancy seemingly snap out of her mind. "I have to go." She chuckled, "Chemistry test."
"Yeah." Byers himself seemed to be pulled back from his thoughts, almost a bit lost. "Good luck." Nancy wished him with the boy thanking her. Only after a few steps did Reader finally register what she had just said.
"Hold up!" He placed his hands on his sister's shoulders, turned her to him. "We have a chemistry test?" She swatted away his hands, giving him an annoyed look. "Yeah. Hope you're failing this time."
He let out an agonizing groan as they reunited with the group. Through the PA the voice of the principal overturned the chattering of the students. "Attention, faculty and students. At 8:00 p.m. tonight, there will be an on the football field, in support of Will Byers and his family. All are encouraged to attend. Volunteer sign-ups for search parties are still available in the office."
Reader pondered for a while before sighing. "Do you think I could convince Mom to let me volunteer for these searches?" His sister gave him an annoyed look. "Definitely not."
Lukas and Dustin were staying for dinner at the Wheelers house. The woman of the house called for her daughter, who was still upstairs. "Nancy! Dinner!" Reader groaned, his head hurting because of the loud noises. He regretted taking some pills just minutes before.
The atmosphere was uncomfortable, nobody was saying anything. "Something wrong with the meatloaf?" Karen asked the younger boys, who were pushing around their food on their plates. "Oh, no, I had two Bologna sandwiches for lunch." Dustin smiled toward the lady, "I don't know why." Lucas chuckled lightly, "Me, too."
"It's delicious, Mommy." Nancy reassured her mother. Reader couldn't hold back the snort that was caused by the drug in his vein. He immediately sat straight back up as the woman gave him a look. The older woman thanked her daughter.
"So, there's this... special assembly thing tonight... for Will at the school field." The younger twin brought up. "Barb's driving." Karen instantly became suspicious. "Why am I just hearing about this?" Her daughter raised her eyebrows. "I thought you knew."
"Obviously not." Reader whispered, almost choking on his food because he held back his laughter. He was promptly ignored by both women. "I told you, I don't want you out after dark until Will is found." Nancy interrupted her, "I know, I know, but it'd be super weird if I'm not here. I mean everyone's going." Karen sighed, "Just... be back by 10.00." The girl nodded.
"And Reader is going with you." This made both twins perk up. The older one was confused as he was spacing off just a second ago, and Nancy was annoyed. She knew she couldn't refuse, because that could throw off her plan. She simply just nodded again. "If so, why don't you take the boys, too?" Before she could say anything, the younger ones outright refused themselves. Karen looked at them in surprise. "Don't you think you should be there? For Will?"
Out of nowhere Mike choked on his milk as he saw something. Reader did see what his brother saw. The unknown girl walking down the stairs. Abruptly the young adult stood up, making everyone's head snap to him. "The food was great, Mom, but imma head to my room now." He slowly began walking toward the hallway. "Get me when we're going." The boy told his sister.
Just as they were about to see the girl behind them, Dustin slammed down on the table twice. "Sorry. Spasm." With that, Reader quickly turned to the confused girl and ushered down towards the basement. He sighed as he closed the door behind him. „That was close." He sighed under his breath, casting a last glance toward the door as they went down the stairs.
For a few moments they just stood there, the silence being awkward. Then Reader made the move to sit down on the floor before the made-up igloo, patting the space beside him for her to sit down. Hesitating for a moment, she reluctantly sat down while keeping some space between them. „Did you know that there are between 100 billion and 400 billion stars in the Milky Way galaxy. Estimated of course."
Eleven stared at his face, wondering what he was talking about. Meanwhile, he was gazing at the ceiling with a small smile. „Actually, we don't even know how many there are because it is hard to count them." He chuckled, glancing toward her, „And that's not because they are so tiny." The girl quickly looked away, slightly embarrassed to be caught starring. „It is because we are inside the galaxy, and its thick interstellar dust and gas block our view of many stars."
“Sorry, when I’m bored, I just have the urge to say something.” He sighed, a small smile gracing his face. What he said was not entirely correct, as the drugs were mostly taking over his mind and he said what came to his head.
The bald girl dared to take a glance at him again. He seemed at peace, just sitting there and starring at nothing.
The silence lingered for a bit before he stood up. „Now then, I have to go before my sister leaves me behind." Stretching his arms he sighed. Just as he went up the stairs, a tiny voice called out, barely loud enough for him to hear. „What is the Milky Way galaxy?" Surprised he turned back, seeing her genuinely confused face.
He thought about it before smiling. „I will tell you about it when I come back, alright?" He waited until she nodded. With a last quick „Bye" from him, he left the basement. When he came up, he saw his brother and his friend packing some food on some plate. "Hey." He caught their attention, "... Imma head out now. Just- just be careful with her. We don't know what she went through, alright?"
Dustin saluted jokingly, "Got it, boss." He grinned. Reader couldn't stop the grin plastering on his face. Shaking his head he ruffled his brother's hair and went out to meet his sister and the awaiting car with Barbs inside.
“Yo, Barb!” He greeted the girl. He made himself comfortable on the back seat of the car. “Hi, Reader. Long time not seen.” She joked. The male only chuckled in response. If someone ever asked him who he prefers of all of Nancy’s friends, it would be Barbs. He enjoyed being around her, she was a great friend. She would always dismiss his flirting having already gotting used to it over the years.
Charlie was about to joke about the plan they were having (, well mostly Nancys plan) when he noticed his sister’s expression. He loves to annoy her, but he knew that there are also boundaries to some things. If he was being honest, he didn’t like that out of all people; Steve Harrington was with his sister. But alas he also liked to see her happy. And he knew that if he was present at that ‘party’, she would be moody for the next few days. So, he made his decision.
Leaning forward he slung his arms around both car seats from behind. “How about this, you drop me off at the gathering at the school and you both can go to Harringtons, yeah?” Nancy wiped her head around in surprise. “Really?” Her voice was high-pitched.
But then she narrowed her eyes. “Wait- why would you do this? Is there anything I need to know?” He gasped and playfully put his hands on his chest. “What do you mean?” The younger twin turned her upper body toward him, her tone serious. “What I mean? You never, and I mean never, turn down an opportunity to piss me off. So, what I am asking you is, why the sudden change of mind?”
Instead of giving her an answer, he just leaned back into his seat again. “You know, Nancy, if you love me that much that you don’t want to be away from your dear brother, just say so.” He sends her a smile, which could pass through as a smirk.
Nancy just shook her head and turned forward again. “You know what- forget it. Let’s just drop him off.” She told her best friend. Barb just nodded, throwing one last glance over her shoulder before the vehicle started to move.
The drive to the school was silence. Once they arrived there, Reader merely muttered a ‘See ya’ and stepped out of the car. He watched as it drove off and looked around the packed parking lot. A lot of people were stammering toward the school building. But the Wheeler merely stood in place, like frozen. Only after no other soul was on the lot did he move. Sitting down on the side curb he pulled out a pack of cigarettes out of his pant pocket.
In the background he could hear someone welcoming everybody to the assembling. Having done this so often already, he took out his firelighter and lit up a cigarette after putting it between his lips. Inhaling and holding his breath the young adult listened to the voice speaking about Will Byers.
A singular tear slipped down his face. The smoke broke through as he released his breath. “Fuck.” He whispered, head hanging down. His shoulders trembled as memories of the missing boy passed through his mind, along with the possibilities of what could have happened to him. He cursed himself for being so sensitive now, but he couldn’t stop the tears streaming down. All his feelings catching up to him, the pill wearing off its effect, overwhelming him.
What he didn’t know was that at that moment another person was going missing, and another was being found.

It feels wrong wanting to write for so many fandoms at once. I just have the urge to write atleast a draft for every single one of my ideas.
But the problem is, that I have too many fandoms I want to write for. And there are still so many open projects I want to finish.
For example, the open projects that have been siting for months in my drafts:
Younger!Daryl Dixon x Plug!older!m!reader
Stranger things x m!reader p.2
Blind target p.4
Hermione ff (her going back to her past self)
Then there are also stories I would like to continue (someday):
Boy/Girl missing in time 2
(Maybe) The missing dragon 2
But, I also have some ideas for many fandoms, like:
Grown ups
Thirteen
Spider-man across the spider verse
Diary of a wimpy kid
Narnia
Cheaper by the dozen
Avatar
Fack ju Göhte
Shameless
Animal Kingdom
Akot7k
Türkisch für Änfänger
Ghosts (American version)
High Potential
Teach you a lesson / Get schooled
Squid game
Jurassic park new adventure
Souls (game)
Monster hunter 2
Link botw
The thing is, that some of those fandoms are so dead that I don’t know if anybody would be interested in reading them, well, the ideas. And some are German series/movies that I would translate into English..
I don’t even know when I would be able to write them. Tomorrow is my first day of work and I don’t even know how long I will be working…
So, yeah, this is just me venting and dropping off what I wanted to plan for the summer break.
Yes, there will be. Or rather, I do plan on writing another chapter.
I have been rather busy these past few weeks, spending my time organising some part of the school prom (that was yesterday) and focusing on my grades to switch schools.
But, since next week the summer break is starting I will try to focus more on writing. However, I can’t promise anything since I will start my first part time job.
The plan is, that I will write all drafts of ideas that I have and post them, and the seconds parts to some other drafts, such as Missing in Time, Blind Target 4 and maybe Missing Dragon (but I can’t promise Missing Dragon since I can’t watch it anywhere)
I physically can't read any book but I can gulp down a 500k ao3 ff in a day ( I literally gave my math exams after only reading ao3 fanfics the night before 😔🥀)
Todoroki!reader getting thrown into the famous Pitt after losing a fight against Afo. The thing was, nobody knew where it led to.
Exhausted, they accepted their faith, falling with no end in sight. Only after countless minutes did the darkness vanish and a city appeared. But just as quickly, they were back in the darkness and seemed to fall into what looked like a border. In the distance, they saw a huge figure hunched over.
The next time they woke up, they instantly began violently coughing. Blood splattered from them as they looked around panicking, only to see trash all around them. Countless mountains of trash were around them, as much as the eye could catch.
Just out of their view, something moving caught their attention. Something alike to an animal began to run toward them as they tried to stand up. At the motion, others began to arise, also making their way toward them.
As they tried using their quirk, they realized they couldn’t. All their energy was drained and with their injuries they could barely hold themself on their feet.
Just as those things were about to reach them, those abnormal creatures were slammed away by some force. Their eyes fell shut by exhaustion before they could see who saved them, blood still dripping from their mouth. At last, with a thud they fell to the floor.
As they once again woke up, they realised they had a mask on. Panic filling them again as the memories came back, they tried to take off the mask, but a hand stopped them. Following the limb they widened their eyes. Before them stood a woman they recognized. Nana Shimura, a famous Japanese hero that went missing one day.
As they went to sit up, they groaned in pain. Their injuries were bandaged but not healed yet, and the adrenaline had vanished. The older woman ushered them to lay back down. Only then did they realize that she also had a mask on, even though they were in a room.
Nana made sure that they were calm before she started to explain everything. She explained what had happened and where they were. Apparently, people lived here, having for some time now. She herself wasn’t sure for how long humans have lived down there, but for at least around one hundred years.
The air on this ground wasn't good at all, especially for them two, since they were used to clean air. Through that, those trash-monsters came to live, with the trash that is being tossed from the people above.
There is a cleaner organisation that get rid of the beasts that attack the people with their Jinkis, or vital instruments. Those were objects that are important to one person and is good taken care off. And after some time, they can grow alive with the bond to their user.
After the explanation, Nana asked what they were doing down here. They hesitated for a moment, a lump forming in their throat, but forced the words out at last. Recalling how they were fighting against All for one after encountering him during a mission. How they were face-to-face in that fight.
They could still remember their father’s voice, Endeavor, in their earpiece, screaming at them to get away. But the man was able to land a fatal punch toward their abdomen, crunching their organs and bones. Through that punch they lost their focus, their quirk stopped working.
Black spots danced in their sight as One for all hand wrapped around their throat, flying them so fast through the air till they were over the great abyss. The last thing they were able to register before falling was the man’s voice.
“Have fun. Greet Nana from me.”
The air was tense after they finished telling. Casting a glance toward the woman they found her starring at her intertwined fingers, her face being blank- unreadable. Adverting their gaze, they instead inspected their hair.
Their hair, their weapon. They inherited their grandmothers quirk, almost. Instead of having lava hair, it would turn into fire. It was powerful, as everyone deemed it. But, at the same time they couldn’t stand it. Not only would it always ruin their clothes, burning it, their father made them train to no end.
They were glad that the fire couldn’t hurt them. As Enji Todoroki made them grow their hair out. He was very proud of their quirk; they were able to set things on fire, fly around or also levitate, and form things out of fire. That was something their father made them train every day.
Forcing them to imagine various people and form them into fire silhouettes and lastly making them fight each other. With each year they were able to grow their imagination and stamina to hold their creations.
But now, their hair was normal. Their energy hadn’t returned yet to activate their quirk, instead focusing on healing their body. Drifting through their mind, they remembered how their siblings were now alone. Especially their newly added member, Shoto. Just barely three years old while they were already at U.A.- a first year.
The noise of a chair being pushed back pulled them out of their memories. Nana had stood up, her face unfocused. “Stay here, I will get the nurse.” She breathed out before going away. After the door closed, did they look around the room. Several other beds stood side to side along the wall, all empty. A few pictures adored the walls.
Looking outside, they were slightly disturbed by the orange sky. Though, it made sense why it had this colour, based on what the woman told them.
Just then the door opened again, and not two but three people entered- Nana was amongst them. Beside her was a young girl, white toned with blond, almost grey, hair. She had a big, long skirt on, a hat on top her head. What was noticeable though, was the power cord around her neck.
The other person stood tall. His dark skin glistening under the light. His dreads pulled back in a ponytail. He didn’t have anything obvious on him that liked like a Jinki.
The older woman stepped forward pointing to each. “This is Eishia Stilza, our medic, and Arkha Colvus, the boss of the cleaner organisation.” Her words were slightly muffled by the mask. “Ms. Stilza will help your recovery as best as she can.”
Said girl nodded, her head lowered. She was too shy to look at them. As Nana saw that, she just chuckled. “Mr. Corvus and I will help you get settled down here. Corvus will help you with the things down here, and I will help you blend in with your quirk.”
She sends them a worried glance, particularly toward their hair. “We must come up with something good, since it isn’t every day down here to come across someone that has a quirk. Ideal would be hiding or cancelling it. Though… I have no one how.”
Mr. Corvus intertwined, an easy smile on his face. “Let’s think about this later. How about we get you all healthy again. Because, as long as you stay inside the building, nothing problematic should happen, if your quirk activates.”
Nana sighed and nodded. With her hand she motioned for Eishia to go to them. She plucked one end of the power cord into a power outlet, and the other end the took into her hands and approached them. Cautionary they followed her every move.
They didn’t move when she touched them with her instrument. Not even a second later they felt a rush of warmth rush through them. Like falling asleep next to a fire. It felt nice. All their pain washed away just like that. No sting where once an opened wound was.
Eishia sighed in relieve, even the two adults smiled at the result. However, the smell of smoke broke the atmosphere. They all directed their eyes toward the one on the bed, as they looked behind them. Because now that their injures are healed, the energy was used to activate their quirk again. Thus, the bedding and the clothes they were given began to burn.
They panicked looking toward the adults in help. And quickly the two came to help. Nana picked them up from the bed, being careful to avoid their hair while Corvus threw the on-flamed bedding on the floor to avoid it spreading.
“I’m sorry.” They muttered, starring at the floor. A chuckle made them look up. The man smiled at them reassuring. “Don’t apologize for something you can’t control, young one.” Something about his expression made them nod. He looked so… nice.
i actually really enjoy writing non-descriptive reader inserts. like i don’t add heights, or hair textures, or features beyond scars the reader gets in the course of the fic. when i write smut i don’t really describe genitals. i enjoy making universal fics
but i have noticed a lot of other people’s universal fics are catered to white or fair skinned people.
im going to use myself as an example but i don’t want anyone thinking im specifically talking about catering to me
i don’t turn red. there’s no pink flooding my cheeks. my embarrassment is conveyed through actions. when i write flustered characters i say that, that they’re flustered or embarrassed. there’s nothing wrong with saying that.
my hair does not gently fall in my face. it grows upward and out. the only time it hangs down is when it’s styled a certain way. now you could say that’s a feature almost exclusively for black people and everyone else has hair that falls into their face, but now you’re excluding a race of people in your “universal fics”
it does not feel nice to be left out like that.
it’s also really hard to run your fingers through my hair, and it doesn’t get greasy when unwashed.
every race pales. but a lot of people write pale to mean turning really white and not losing some of the complexion in your skin. as a matter of fact i’ve seen authors write paleness as an alabaster complexion. not universal
my lips aren’t thin. they can be thinned as in this face: 😐. but describing the reader’s lips as thin is not universal.
my lips are also two toned, so they’re not cherry red, or a supple pink. not universal.
every race can be sunburnt. skin peeling is in fact a pretty common description. looking like a lobster is not
these are just small things you can keep an eye on so that people feel represented or at least not alienated when reading your stories.

You were three years older than Sirius. And thus, you had more responsibilities on your shoulders, having to take care of your chaotic brothers and ensuring that the family name wouldn’t get dragged into dirt.
The relief was massive when you got into Slytherin, knowing you didn‘t disappoint anyone from your family. So, you did what was expected, studying till no tomorrow, passing every class with flying colors. Acted like a noble member of the great black family.
Those three years went great, the professors were proud and nothing was wrong, until your younger brother enrolled in your fourth year. It was a scandal- he got into Gryffindor. To say that your parents were happy would have been the biggest lie.
Though, you were glad he did, because it was obvious how happy he seemed with his classmates from his house. Your relationship was… complicated from that point forward. Your parents tried to convince Dumbledore to switch Sirius into Slytherin, but didn‘t success.
So, they didn‘t want you to talk to him anymore. He, was a disappointment for the family, were their words. At the beginning you did try to distance yourself from him but just seeing him finally acting like a child made your heart soft.
With that, you came up with a plan. You began writing him letters. You know you couldn’t really talk to him in person, in fear of your cousin telling on you. At first, he was reluctant, but after some while he did start writing back. And so, it went on the whole year long. Sometimes you would help him in secret, like covering up his pranks from his friend group or helping him with his homework.
During the summer break, at home, it was hard, for all three of you. For Sirius it was the beginning of madness, your parents resented him for getting into Gryffindor. And sweet Regulus, they put the pressure on him to not turn out to be like his rebellious brother. What no one expected was for the dark lord to summon you.
That day you left with a mark on your arm. It was cruel of him, of your parents, and everyone. Through all this, you couldn’t stop asking yourself why your parents didn’t stop this, or why the Lord had chosen you. And if that wasn’t enough, you resented your parents for what they did next.
They proposed a marriage to an older boy from another noble family – Lucius Malfoy. At this point forward, your future was sealed. You had seen him many time in the castle, noticing his behavior, how he acted like he was above everyone.
The only good thing, in your opinion, was the letter from Hogwarts that announced that you were selected to be the prefect of Slytherin that following year. That meant you could hopefully lead your youngest brother safely through his first year.
And at the start of Regulu’s school year, your parents’ wishes came true, he got into Slytherin. The school year went peacefully, that was until an accident happened. That day was like any other. It was the beginning of April, and quite warm. Warm enough for students to be outside, but not to be swimming.
You were lying on the floor on a blanket, learning for your O.W.L.s. Beside you sat Regulus, reading something about Potions. Not far away sat other students also reading or learning. Some others were farther away, laughing and running around.
But, screaming stopped the cheerful air. Children were running past you toward the castle. Your brother stood up, looking for the cause of the panic, just like you did. And you didn’t have to search for too long, because a large animal was running toward the school, from the forbidden forest.
Out of instinct you pushed your brother behind you, urgently trying to get him to run toward the school. He hesitated as he watched you run toward the creature, getting other students to safety. Older students were also trying to hold it off as long until some Professor comes.
During the rush you got a glance from your other brother, also running away, with his friends. Relief washed over you just for a moment, to know that he is safe. That was a mistake, letting you guards down just for a moment. Because the next thing you knew, the thing was running directly at you.
Your wand was raised, but no spell came. In a state of shock, you couldn’t say anything, only watch with round eyes as it came near with every second. Just as it reached you, it vanished. Mid-second it was gone. The screaming also stopped, but that was only because no one was around but you.
Your eyes widened, gapping at the empty landscape around you. You were positive that you were still at Hogwarts – the castle being evidence enough. Still, this was not normal. Did you perhaps die, just not remembering how it ended? How you died?
Your mind spiraled, countless theories coming up. That was till a voice echoed across the land, stern and full of authority. Turning around you saw a man walking toward you. He had robes on and looked like a professor. But the thing is that you have never seen him before at Hogwarts.
“What are you doing here? You do know that you aren’t allowed to be outside.” He seemed oblivious to your round eyes, instead ushering you along the way to the castle. Sometimes he would steal glances toward the sky, as if searching for something.
Only when you entered the castle did he properly look at your uniform. “A Slytherin, huh? As expected,” He grunted. You know that you should be irritated by his comment, but now you have other matters to attend to. “I should just bring you to your head professor. No, even better, Professor Dumbledore.”
Without even being able to say anything in defense, you were led through the similar halls. Sometimes passing other students that you didn’t recognize. Even other professors that roamed through the castle, you didn’t see any familiar face.
Going up the stairs leading to the headmaster’s room, the feeling of being in the wrong place worsened. And you stopped in your steps as you came face to face with Professor Dumbledore. But it wasn’t the one you knew. This one was younger, at least a few decades.
Even when you covered your surprise as quickly as you could, it seemed like the older man took notice. With a smile he dismissed the man that was holding you, telling him that he would take care of the problem. The man seemed unsure, not even having the chance to explain the situation, but followed along the please.
“Now, I don’t think that I have seen you before, dear…?” He leaned forward, his fingers interlinked as he watched you like a hawk. His eyes were watching every move, twinkling with something like recognition. There was something unsettling about him – this young Dumbledore.
You only stated your first name, not trusting him enough to tell him your family name. Not while you were in those weird circumstances. The professor hummed once, nodding and leaning back. “It does seem weird that I haven’t seen you before, because you are wearing a Slytherin uniform. Plus, you do seem like someone that has been here for longer. Apologize for this old man for speaking so much, but I got to ask, what are you doing here?”
By the end his tone was ice cold as his gaze also became stone-hard. The room also suddenly felt colder. You couldn’t look away from him, his eyes pulling you toward him, as if looking into your mind. Mouth open, not a single word left your mouth. Even with everything running through your mind that has happened in the past hour, you couldn’t get it out of you.
You weren’t even sure if you could trust him.
“I- I am sorry if this sound weird, but- what year do we have?” Dumbledore’s face morphed into one of surprise, almost taking a back. He thought for a few seconds before answering, “This is really a weird question, young girl. But, we currently have the year 1938.”
Summary — Sirius and Regulus older brother goes missing one day during his fifth school year. No one knows where he is, or do they?
Pairing — Harry Potter verse x m!Black!reader
A/N — I don’t know why, but I like the trope of time traveling. This is a short one, bcs I will focus on each year in each chapter, so this is like the prologue.

They proposed marriage to your youngest cousin, Narcissa. It was already hard enough that all your ancestors had some kind of incest going on for years, but now, you had to participate in it. You weren’t close to her, and she was a year older than you.
The only good thing, in your opinion, was the letter from Hogwarts that announced that you were selected to be the prefect of Slytherin that following year. That meant you could hopefully lead your youngest brother safely through his first year.

It was nothing special, nothing big, but still, it was everything at the same time for you two.
You two just simply wanted to get away from the city, from the people, from Merle. So, you decided to drive away. Not for a trip, but for a simple date you could call it.
It was on the whim, just packed your things and got into Daryl’s truck. The drive went on for two hours, only stopping when you reached the ocean coast. Well, you did stop once to get some pizza on the way there.
Arriving at your destination, you first admired the view. It was a contrast to the loud city with buildings always looming over you. Instead of the loud wails of sirens, all there was were the waves in the water.
Daryl came up behind you, wrapping his arms around you, his face tucked in between your neck. "Maybe one day, we could move up here -- to the beach... y'know?" He murmered, his sight also on the water.
You hummed, thinking about it, It would actually be great. The only contrast would be that it is hard to live out in the middle of nowhere. You also knew how much Daryl actually loved his brother, even if he wouldnt admit it.
"What about hunting?" You turned to him, his arms now behind you. "Because if we did move out here, you couldnt go out hunting anymore. Only fishing." A smirk appeared on your face as you studied him.
He groaned, as he realized that you were right. His head dropped on your shoulder as his own shoulders dropped. "Didnt even think about it."
"Obviously." You smiled, landing a quick kiss on his neck. In response he shuddered in delight, slightly raising his head to look at you. „But, it wouldnt be such a bad idea.“ You hummed.
Laughing now, he raised you into the air and stammered backwards to the truck. Your stomach seemed to flip as you yourself laughed, smacking him on the head. „Let me down, you-“ Just before you could finish your sentence, he trew you onto the truck’s bed.
Luckily, it was adorned with some blanket that Daryl laid out there earlier, so the fall didn‘t hurt much.
With an 'uff' you landed there. The truck dipped for a moment as the man folled you, hovering above you. A smirk adorned his face, one itself growing on your face, mirroring his.
"What was this about?" You huffed, one hand slowly trailing up to his face. His eyes folled your movement before leaning into your palm with his cheek.
His gaze drifted back to your face. "What ya' mean?" He chuckled. Without warning he dropped his body, cruching you under him.
A mix of a groan and a breathless laugh escaped you. The air litteraly left your lungs for a moment. Immediately your arms tried to push him off.
"Get off me! I cant breath!"
Instead of following your request, Daryl snuggled up to you, his face hidden in the crock of your neck. A shudder overcame you as you felt him nibbling on your skin.
Knowing you wont get any answer, you gave up. Directing your eyes toward the sky, you watched the clouds passing. Though, your mind was only filled with him.
How lucky you are to be with him. With the man that was currently crushing you under him. Your Daryl Dixon.

Rain was pouring onto Y/n as they sat up on their dragon, Eclipse. His dark, slim figure flew over the battlefield, over the men stabbing each other with their swords. It was hard to tell who is from which side, with all the blood covering them. They were sent to help the people on their sister’s side, eliminating the people of the green side.
The only thing they could do was fly to the other side and burn the enemy’s reinforcement, which still stood there, waiting for a signal to storm forward. Some began trying to flee as they saw the creature coming near. Y/n let out a loud, ‘Dracarys‘ when they were close enough.
Eclipse opened his mouth, fire flying out. Men screamed as they were surrounded by the flames, melting their armour onto their skin. Just as they were about to shout another command, out of the corner of their sight, they saw a scorpion being positioned. Directly in their direction.
Immediately Y/n directed their dragon to fly up. They hoped that the men would not be able to see the, anymore if they both vanished in between the clouds. Reaching the thick clouds, they let out a shacking breath. They didn’t know how long they could stay there, the possibility of their dragon and the, dying by a bolt was terrifying.
After a few second Y/n began feeling weird. Dizziness suddenly started consuming their senses. Though, their eyes popped wide as even Eclipse began swaying. „sȳzorys, Eclipse!“ (calm, eclipse!), they shouted, hoping it would reach him.
Their panic grew as they little by little flew lower, Eclipse slowly losing strength. Words in high Valyrian bubbled out of their mouth as they tried to get him to regain his senses. The words stopped as they left the cover of the clouds. Even the creature seemed to regain his senses as he stayed in the air.
The field filled with men just moments prior was empty. Not a single human stood on the complete, now untouched, land. Y/n’s eyes swept over the ground while their brain tried to come up with a solution. Though, not a single idea came up. This wasn’t possible.
Y/n armoured hand came up to their face. With a big swing they slapped themself. Opening their eyes again and looking around they came to realization that this wasn’t a dream. The ting of pain spread in their cheek. So much that they felt a bit of blood spill from a cut on their lip.
Letting out another anxious breath, they commanded their dragon to begin flying. Y/n didn’t say where, but it seemed like Eclipse knew where the both of them should go. Their sight remained on the floor as they flew, noticing how terrified people reacted every time they saw the dragon in the air.
Soon, a coast came in sight, with it, the endless sight of water. Eclipse kept flying, and they let him. Y/n did have an idea now where he might be leading them. And they were correct when an island came in sight with a castle. It was Dragonstone. Hope bloomed at the thought of seeing their sister, of telling her what had happened. Of seeing their nephews again and their great-cousin Rhaenys.
After landing, they were practically running to and in the castle. Passing every corridor, they became slower with every corner they passed. Everything looked so… left behind. Even though there were no signs of any dusts or any spider webs, not a single soul was in sight.
With time, hope began to fade away. And as the doors to the council room were in front of them, they hesitated. Even as their hand lingered in mid-air, hesitation stopped them.
What if they weren’t in there? What would they do? What happened?
What if the people that they needed right now weren’t in there?
Closing their eyes and breathing in, they pushed the doors open. And what welcomed Y/n wasn’t what they had hoped for, it was silence. Nothing but silence — it was so loud. As they looked around, they couldn’t bring themselves to move. It was like their body turned to stone. Only after what felled like hours did they take a step forward.
„Rhaenyra?“ Not louder than a whisper was Y/n’s voice. Nothing. Only silence responded. Once again, they tried to call out for their sister, and once again they were met with nothing. Desperate, Y/n turned around and fled the room, running down the familiar halls, calling out name after name. Their sister, uncle, nephews, great cousin, anyone.
Checking every room they came across, tears threatened to fall. The build-up confusion and frustration of finding no one boiling over - being too much. And then, they did. Without stopping they fell down their face, drawing a path of wetness. Y/n succumbed to the floor, knees giving up. Trying to wipe away the tears, breathing became harder. It felt like their lungs were collapsing with how much they sobbed.
They remembered how sad their sister was when their father died. How everything began to collapse and a war began. Since then, they couldn’t sleep in peace, fearful that they might get betrayed by the people that came along to Dragonstone. Just like what happened to their nephew, Jaehaerys. The boy’s dead still plagued them like their shadow. Not to mention their other nephew, Lucerys. Killed by his own family. Both too young to die.
A loud roar tear them from their thoughts. Their eyes swept to a window, seeing the darkened sky outside. Like a spell it caused them to collect their mind again. Only one possible solution came to them in mind. One that made somewhat sense. Either Rhaenyra has successfully overthrown the enemy. Or the green team has defeated the black side. They threaten the thought of Alicent killing their sister, but they couldn’t push the idea away.
They tried to ignore why everything was so strange after feeling dizzy in the sky, dismissing it as not receding that much air that way up in the sky.
Gathering their strength, Y/n pushed themselves to their feet again and ran down the halls, toward their awaiting dragon. They had to see what happened, to what happened to their family. With that goal in mind, Eclipse began to fly away from the island as they reached him. Away from the castle where once was their family, filled with warmth and now was cold.
It did take some time to reach the capital of the kingdom, king’s landing. The castle on the cliff came in sight first, towering over everything. It felt familiar, and yet, like a prison — seeing it. Knowing that they had once lived there — before the dance of dragons started. That they once roamed the halls with their sister, unaware of all the chaos beginning to unfold slowly.
Once being unaware of the pressure of being the King’s child. Unaware of the jealousy from their sister, that she didn’t want to have against them. Unaware of the plan their father had for them, of marrying them of first to one of their siblings. Unaware of Alicent trying to get rid of them.
They were just too unaware — too young and naive. Only when Y/n got older did they slowly learn the plan that the people around them had decided for them. And only then did they refuse what their future had held for them. They refused the marriage to any of their siblings.
They quickly wiped the tears away that threatened to spill again. This wasn’t the time, they told themselves. They had to see what happened. With new determination they reigned Eclipse toward the dragonpit. Y/n looked in surprise toward the folk as they also began to scream once they both flew over them, just like the people on the land.
But the biggest surprise came when they were near the dragonpit. It was destroyed. Wordlessly they stayed in the air, mouth open. Eclipse let out something akin to a whine. Regaining back their senses, they shifted him toward the walls of the city. There they landed him outside, on the ground, a small distant away from the gates.
Getting off from the dragon, they landed with a quiet ‘thud‘. Leaning their forehead against his scalps, they took a deep breath before stepping away from him. Their feet dragged them forward, as one hand settled on their sword. The gates opened as men on horses rode out. Stopping in their track, Y/n watched them with narrowed eyes. Not even one looked familiar.
Even though they were from the Knight guard, based on their armour, they didn’t look like the one Y/n knew. Not a single Knight looked like one of those that stayed in Kingslanding after the war began or one that came along to their sister’s side.
From what Y/n could see, they were all tense, starring not only at them but also Eclipse. Some man rode forward as the rest stayed behind him, aside two others being right behind him on either side of him. The man had brown hair with a beard, some white being here and there.
The two others were two young men. The, probably, older one looked like just the man in front of them, just with a white streak in his hair. The younger one though had light brown almost orange hair. They were probably his sons, based on their appearances. Y/n didn’t want to get ahead of themself, but they did have some traits of their family. Yet, they lacked the eye colour and the famously white hair.
„Who are you?“ The man asked. Y/n could see that he tried to be calm, but his gaze flickered to their dragon, tensing up everytime he did. „And how- how is it possible that you have a dragon…“ Eclipse roared, as if sensing that they were talking about him. Some men stepped back in fear.
Only the younger son looked at it in admiration, his eyes almost bulging out of their sockets. Y/n gazed over all of them, their thoughts running wild, question after question. „Where is Rhaenyra?“ They demanded, ignoring the question from the man.
He hesistated before answering, „I- I am sorry, but there is no Rhaenyra that we know of.“ His horse stirred, making him even more nervous. „My name is Baelor Targaryen, son of Daeron Targaren the second, heir to the throne and first inline. So please tell me, who are you and what is your business.“
Y/n felt unease, not knowing how to handle the situation. They hadn’t heard of a Daeron or Baelor Targaryen. How is this possible, they asked themself. The words lingered on the tip of their tongue, wanting to know the answer. „I am here to see Queen Rhaenyra.“ They answered simple and quick.
Murmuring broke out under the armored men, switching glances between them. Even the two boys looked surprised. Baelor covered his surprise with a neutral face. „Correct me if I am wrong, but, are you looking for Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, first born of King Viserys Targaren the first?“
They nodded, nervously waiting for what comes next. It uneases them with how their sister, was called Princess instead of her right title. And even more with how the man formed his question. It sounded so weird, but they couldn’t grasp on what it is.
„Princess Rhaenyra had died around a hundred years ago.“
The sentence made them stop. It went through their head for about a hundred time till they actually acknowledged what he said. „What?“ Breathlessly they muttered. „That isn’t true.“ They shock their head, looking over every man that stood before them, hoping to now see someone they recognize. At least someone, to tell this that this wasn’t true.
No one. Nothing happened.
Eclipse whined behind them, nudging them with their snout. As if he knew what had happened, as if he felt what was wrong. Y/n rested a hand on his head, steadying themself. Taking a deep breath to ground themself and hold back the tears again.
„Did-“ Baelor took a step near after getting of his horse, „Did you perhaps not know this?“ It was strange for him to meet someone that didn’t know of this. The story of the dance of dragons is widely known across the reign. There was barely anybody that didn’t know story.
„Rhaenyra is my sister.“ They mumbled.
