As a principled feminist I'm often tempted to say shit like "are men capable of higher thought" but then I have to remember not to perpetuate gender essentialism and change it to "why do men choose not to think about anything"

Over the past couple of weeks, maybe two months, I feel like I've been losing brain capacity. There are two obvious candidates for cause: my dramatically increasing consumption of cannabis, and my dramatically worsening disordered eating.

To a certain extent it doesn't matter. What matters is I am making mistakes, missing things, forgetting things, losing foresight, failing to reach conclusions.

This is the thing in the universe that terrifies me the most, that I could lose the only thing that I have ever liked about myself, the only thing that has ever given me worth.

And here's the thing. It's not irreversible. It's almost certainly the not eating. I know that. I'm working on it. [ed: why do you think I'm smoking so much weed?]

But it took me weeks to notice, to nail it down. I could slip into this unknowingly. I could, in fact, lose the only thing about me that's me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We need a "This is absolutely NOT mature content" feedback button on posts. You can report a post as missing a community label. We should also be able to report posts as having a comminity label when they dont fucking need one.

well you know what they say. when you've invested billions of dollars into hammers every problem looks like a nail and you keep handing these hammers to your users and they go "i don't really think i needed this hammer" and "but i don't have any nails that need hammering in right now" and "this is not a nail this is a glass vase that will break if i hit it with a hammer" and "didn't you used to have, like, other tools avaliable that might be better suited to this job" and you tell them to suck it up because you've replaced all your screwdrivers and wrenches and box cutters and crates and ladders and paint with hammers because your shareholders need to see an increase in value from your hammer investments
