AT&T is setting up the new distracted driving 3D VR simulator at AT&T Headquarters in downtown Dallas.
We asked three filmmakers to “create something from nothing.” From Washing Machine to Fire Pit and much more (with a little DIY inspiration), and four other wacky and inspiring videos, too. Watch these 5 videos for a delightfully creative treat.
How good are you at identifying techy sounds? Take the Tech Sounds Quiz and see if you can identify tech sounds—many of which are quickly vanishing from our modern soundscape.
Can you name these sounds?
#FoodieFriday - P.Terry’s Burger Stand
P. Terry’s is a delicious burger joint exclusive to Austin. The first location, pictured above, opened in July of 2005 on Barton Springs and South Lamar. Since then, nine locations have opened throughout Austin.
#TBT – AT&T “You Will” ads from 1993
The video above shows a series of AT&T ads from 1993 with some amazingly accurate predictions, considering the technology currently available to us.
From e-books, to connected cars and homes, to video chatting and more – AT&T was spot-on with its “You Will” ads.
It’s fascinating to see how far we’ve come – and what we have to look forward to!
Austin is the live music capital of the world. Bands from all over perform here daily. However, keeping up with them and deciding which show to see can get challenging, especially if you’re constantly on-the-go.
Bluetooth-enabled headphones, like the Beats Powerbeats2, are great for getting concert quality sound in the comfort of your home. Best of all—they sync with all of my devices, so I never miss a beat!
Which headphones do you use to keep up with Austin’s music scene?
Staying Fit - The Boardwalk Trail at Lady Bird Lake
The Boardwalk Trail around Lady Bird Lake runs for 10.1 miles. It’s great for Austin bikers and runners, like myself, to enjoy a nice view while getting some exercise in.
My FitBit Charge makes tracking jogs simple. It records my daily step-count, calculates my calorie intake and even tracks my sleep.

Happy Monday – Have you had your coffee fix yet?
Jo’s Hot Coffee on South Congress is a popular spot for tourists and Austinites, alike.
In 2010 local musician Amy Cook took a can of red spray paint to write a love letter to her partner, Liz Lamber, an owner of Jo’s.
Cook’s “i love you so much” message remains as a popular backdrop for friends, family and—in the case above—recently engaged couples. As a part-time photographer, this wall is a favorite spot for engagement photoshoots!
Being around Town Lake is a great way to spend Sundays. Whether you’re rowing a canoe or hanging in Zilker Park, the Braven BRV-1 waterproof speaker is the perfect gadget to take a-long
#FoodieFriday – Hillside Farmacy
The old Hillside drugstore building from the 1950s was restored into Hillside Farmacy – a unique restaurant and specialty grocery store.
The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is great! Definitely a “must-go” if you’re around East Austin.
Fashion meets function for the Austin business professional
The ability to access schedules and receive notifications instantaneously is key for the modern day business professional. Smart watches make this easy, but the LG Watch Urbane makes it effortless.
This circle-faced smart watch is a modern harmony of technology, elegance and convenience. With this watch you can track physical activity, access music with Bluetooth-ready headphones and much more.
Happy Monday!
So projectors aren’t just for business presentations or projecting movies on walls anymore. Combined with the right apps, they can be a cat-lover’s best friend.
I recently discovered the app CAT ALONE, connected it with AT&T’s ZTE Spro 2 smart projector and captured this fun footage of my cat’s reaction. Not sure if it was more entertaining for me or my cat…but a good time was had by all.

New virtual reality app hopes to prevent distracted driving
Texting and driving is extremely dangerous, not to mention illegal in many locations. But now drivers are doing much more than just texting. Selfies, Snapchat and email is distracting drivers.
A new app from AT&T’s It Can Wait campaign lets people experience just how dangerous distracted driving can be – and the end isn’t pretty.
#FoodieFriday – Austin Food Trucks!
We sure love our food trucks! Austin’s food truck following is growing tremendously – so much so that AustinTexas.org estimates nearly 2,000 food vendors by this fall. Yum!
I took this picture of a food court trailer park I like going to. What's your favorite food truck or food court trailer parks in Austin? Any “must-try” recommendations?
