Stray Kids as Tumblr Bloggers

Chan: That one blog who’s been on this site for ages. Can do everything and anything: cranks out HQ gifs, makes stunning gfx, can write a scenario, does not take 3-5 business days to respond to messages, and friendly!! Rumored to have 10K+ followers and probably does.

Woojin: The blog who seems a bit introverted and then you read the tags and holy crap thEY ARE HILARIOUS. Talks to himself and to everyone in them!! Also does not know how to queue for his life and his blog is either dead or flooding your dash. Posts funky covers and occasional updates on his life, but mainly reblogs the heck out of his faves. 

Minho: Savage savage savage. Not afraid to roast you in his reblog, but he makes everyone surprisingly soft and you can’t even get mad. Amazing content, has the ability to make sure everything is well set and ready to go. His theme is probably beautiful as heck. Posts dance videos and follows a bunch of choreography related blogs.

Changbin: Tries to be mysterious, keeps a strict black and white aesthetic with bits of typography. The theme is minimalistic and compact. And then you see his side blog someday and realize he runs one that probably celebrates the unicorn food trend and his daily adventures with his sidekick, Gyu. Disagrees if you try to bring up him being cute, but his sister sends anon messages exposing him. 

Hyunjin: Posted a video of his dancing, probably went viral somewhere somehow. Then he showed his face and the notes went insane. Shit posts whatever he pleases but his follower count is always high. Likes to do friendly bickering with his mutuals. Probably writes and deletes text posts about some clumsy streak he had that week.

Jisung: That blog who does every tag game and answers every ask punctual af. Has a lot of anons he’s close to; you see them play fight over stupid things daily and its your entertainment. Has a lot of entertainment and too much energy especially whEN He TYpES LikE ThIS ON PurPOSE. Gets along with everyone; will fight you if you try to be rude to his friends.

Felix: Has no particular theme. Supports everyone and everything. Probably has the sofest and kindest messages and responses. Will 11/10 support your posts. His blog is swamped with things from puppies to flowers he found on the way home from the supermarket, to a pic of a poem he thought was empowering. A rainbow. 

Seungmin: Seemed quiet and shy originally. The one who goes on anon and sends friendly messages to everyone. But then cranks up the savagery and roasting to a new level. Will get excited randomly and is probably talking to himself in the tags. Has a unique asethetics that no one can place but everyone genuinely enjoys. Toys around with the theme html code every other week

Jeongin: That baby mutual. Gained followers without posting anything. Likes all of your posts. Joins events like “secret santa” or “secret valentine” and then panics because he forgets to send messages once in a while. Dabbles at a lot of different things, and becomes good at a variety of content making.

Fixed a responsive issue with the sidebar on smaller desktop sizes. 

The theme has been simplified to be more of a blank slate. I kept all of the things that I felt was important to cover. This includes global appearance options, responsiveness, CSS grid and flexbox introductions, and theme garden submission requirements. 

It can still function as its own (simple) theme if you don’t want to use it as a base code. If you do want to make your own theme with this, please tag me in your post so I can see what you made!

What are some good themes to use for an rp?

I am old-fashioned. I like main roleplay themes with headers and topbars and lots of room for links and information on the main. I like themes that have wide entries and are easy to navigate. Since I’m very traditional, a lot of my choices are older themes which may need tweaking with the new Tumblr coding restraints.With that in mind, here are my recs:

The other thing you’ll notice about all the themes I choose is that the entry timestamps and tags are really visible. I like information to be displayed clearly and prominently on a page, so accessible entry data is a must for me. 

Speaking as someone who looks over a lot of Harry Potter roleplays to keep the Harry Potter Roleplay Directory updated, I like easy access to Plot, Character, Application, and Navigation pages, and I like to know how often the roleplay updates. It makes no sense to me to hide roleplay information behind fad themes or gimmick visuals. People are coming to your main looking for that information. Why make it hard to find? Be as open and clear as possible. That has always been my perspective on themes, and I think the most successful Harry Potter roleplays work hard to presentinformation as concisely and beautifully as they can without sacrificing clarity.

sorry to bother you, but you know how when you go onto someone's blog, the way their blog title appears in the browser tab moves?? i don't know what that's called and i'm sorry that's not very descriptive. i was just wondering if you know how to make the text do that? i've seen it in hover descriptions too, if that helps?

hello there anon,what you’re talking about is something called ‘marquee’ text ( the text that looks like it’s scrolling along on a ticker tape type of thing! )

adding this to your description (or any text on your blog) is really easy…a couple of examples – i’ve added this to tags in my ‘ezekiel’ theme, and i’ve added it as a subtitle feature in my ‘the game’ theme - e.g. (sorry about the shitty gif O_O - you can see this more easily in the theme previews!)

all you have to do is add this code around the text you’d like to scroll -

YOUR DESCRIPTION TEXT

you can even add this into the basic editor box like so (so no need to mess around in your theme code!!!)- 

to edit this - you can change ‘left’ to ‘right’ to alter the direction the text will scroll and if you change the ‘scrollamount’ to a different number, that will alter the speed of the text scrolling (the lower the number, the slower the scroll, the higher the number, the faster the scroll).

however - unfortunately, this won’t work for the title tab on your browser!  you will need to include a script to replace the ‘tabbed’ version… here are a couple of tutorials and codes to help you!

I’m happy I managed to get this out before the year ends, and this is most possibly my last theme of 2020. I coded this in the image of spring, a homage to the earlier version of this theme titled Spring Moment and to convey that while this will be our new reality in the long run, we will hold onto hope that spring will arrive. There will be a day where this bitter winter ends. And you know, that much I believe.

How to change your ask box color

This idea was first mentioned by seraphymns several years ago, but they have since deleted their blog. Since it was hidden behind a read more, the tutorial is gone. 

I was able to find some pieces of what they did, so I’m going to share some variations and similar methods! Keep in mind this will also mess with the icon image, but I don’t think that takes away from the ask box function.

Black/white:

by using hue-rotate, you can edit the degrees here to create basically whatever color button you want. Here are some examples:

filter: hue-rotate(60deg); - turns it purple

hue-rotate(200deg)  - orange

Other methods:

You can also try mix-blend-mode for similar results. However, you will need to apply this to your container, not the ask box itself. This is trickier on regular themes, but can work well with FAQ pages or other pages where you’re making your own ask box.
