Just watched Should I Marry a Murderer and AAAAHHHHHH OMG FUCK Scotland Police they ruined both that poor womans life AND in doing so they failed to get the full justice they couldve got for Tony Parsons aaaaaahhhhh i wanted to reach through the screen and THROTTLE the prosecutor.
I want to throttle anyone discussing it in the framework of "why are we pretending she's the primary victim?", "She never said Tony's name once", "she's not even sorry he didn't get justice."
She literally risked her safety trying to get Tony justice. This is a story about how the Scotland Police's misogyny cost Tony Parsons family justice. You can't make a documentary about how the polices systemic failure to protect female witnesses to violent crimes has wide reaching and often unintended consequences to the justice system, without centering a female witness to a violent crime who was systemically failed to be protected by the police.
My biggest flex is that pathetic men despise me on sight.
I'm only halfway through watching "Should I Marry a Murderer?" But it's already shaped up to be the perfect cautionary tale for how being a male centered woman gets you in all kinds of pickles.
I'm at the point where Caroline Muirhead reaches her emotional breaking point so she reaches out to a friend and I was thinking "oh thank god, finally someone who can talk some sense into her." And she called A MAN??
And btw this whole documentary this guy really doesn't seem to like her. But he's at her house and she word vomits the whole sordid tale to him and he just goes "wow that's crazy. I'm off home now."
AND JUST LEAVES HER THERE?
I understand that this is a scary and complex situation, but a woman would never. It's very clear that Caroline doesn't have female friends because she doesn't even seem to think about reaching out to a female confidant here. She doesn't even seem to realise that that is what she needs right now. The closest woman we see to her is her mum and STILL Caroline is more concerned with appeasing her fathers anxiety than feeling safe to lean on her mother for support.
It's really sad.
If Caroline Muirhead is seeing this; girl, none of this was your fault, obviously, and you did tje right thing most of the time even though some of your choices were bizarre. But like, absorb some healthy misandry because this is exactly how men will treat you if you people please to them.
The caption said "safe to say no more trips to the shop for him."
I sometimes wonder if these women are pedophiles because they are suspiciously okay with babying their partners.
When I was twenty two I was pregnant. I'd not even been seeing the guy exclusively for eight weeks when I got the two lines. I was immediately suspicious because I had always insisted on protection, but my bigger concern was that I'd had a pregnancy scare in my last relationship and it went badly. So this time I decided to figure out what I wanted before deciding if I'd tell him. That plan was dashed the next day when he went through my trash and confronted me about the pregnancy test in the bin.
This was cause for concern number two. It was my trash can in my apartment. I really did not appreciate having some guy I'd invited as a guest rooting through my bin and demanding answers to the contents, but he let me know right away he was excited to be a father. I'll be honest, I got a little swept up in it. Especially because part of my trauma in my last pregnancy scare was my ex forcing me under threat of violence to call an abortion clinic before I even knew for sure if I was with child. It was healing, in a weird way, to experience the opposite. Feel supported. Feel like I had someone to do this with. Yeah we hadn't been together long, but babies never come at the perfect time and if we're ready now, why not?
I was twenty two. I liked the fantasy of being a mom. Of having something to point me north in my mess of a life. I thought, fuck it. He seemed nice enough and if he turned out not to be I'd just do it alone. Plus I was confident I was a better person than my own mom, so at the very least my kid would be better off than I was.
So, I planned to give birth. I planned that in nine months I'd be a mother.
Meanwhile, he kicked into daddy drive. Had me move into his house, spent thousands building a nursery. Took me to my first appointments. Bought me and the baby gifts. Reassured me it would all be okay. For six weeks I was in absolute bliss. I thought I was about to get my happy ending. I planned names and schools and outfits and my birth. I bought parenting books online and planned to turn my life over into being a mom.
And then, one random Friday, we got into a fight about dinner. It ended with him in my face and punching the wall inches from my head. I was eight weeks pregnant.
That night I left. I went home. Changed my locks and stayed there. The next day I called to make an appointment. Three days later I had an abortion via medication. From that day to this, I never spoke to him again again.
Over the months he sent his family members to bring me back. "Think of the baby, he needs a daddy", they'd say. "He's beside himself, he's sorry, he'll never do it again", they'd say. Others started reach out to enquire about the pregnancy. If I was having a girl or a boy and when my due date was and where was I planning to deliver. A year later he was sending people to ask if his kid was born yet and after that it was demands from all kinds of places to let him see his son. I ignored them all.
Fuck him.
My body my choice.
i could go into all the ways that i experience misogyny (not transandrophobia, i dont believe in that so don't get my words twisted) as a trans man who has been out for over 6 years but is still yet to transition due to financial and familial barriers. like genuinely the people who have perpetuated the most misogyny against me straight-up don't see me as a fully-formed person and instead see and treat me as this vapid weak bitch who's only good for being a housewife and a mother and an agent of "the divine feminine". and that i should be institutionalised or forced to take estrogen so i can be "fixed".
i could also go into the ways that transfeminism and intersectional feminism have helped me develop a more stable sense of self as a man, provided me with actionable knowledge to stand up for and back up the women in my communities, and how i've accepted that forging my own manhood is far more productive than aspiring to patriarchal manhood so that people are more likely to believe me.
flattening this complexity that many trans men experience (and of course, there are other factors to consider such as racism, but as a white guy it's not my place to lead the conversation) is, frankly, fucking idiotic. and i do think that a lot of trans men (and transmascs) need to get their shit together, get out of their fucked little echo-chambers and purge their transmisogyny brainworms that i've seen for some time now. multiple things can be true at once.
i'm not asking for trans men to be centred in feminist discourse, but instead airing out a few of my thoughts on some of the recent discussion around who gets to be a feminist, and who can contribute to feminist discussion and discussions about the material manifestations of misogyny.
I know I'm just adding to the controversy and we should just leave madeline pendleton in the past.
But like they're the fucking DEFINITION of going so far left you veer into the right.
So, I responded kinda flippantly in the comments of this post that horseshoe theory is far right propaganda. And usually when I say something like that the OP responds "fuck you lib" and blocks me, but this time I was met with interest and when I offered to write a full blog post thesis statement on the topic, I was taken up on it. Which I love because clearly info dumping about politics on main is my special interest.
It did take me a little while to fully write, source and edit especially because my landlord broke into my house last week, so I've been dealing with the fallout of that, but I hope @lucksalbum didn't forget me in the meantime.

The whole “left and right form a horseshoe and meet at fascism” idea traces back to Nazi Germany, and it didn’t come from some deep political insight, it came from Nazi infighting. Specifically, beef between the Nazi Party and an offshoot called the Black Front. The Black Front was made up of former Nazis who, presumably, saw the Night of the Long Knives coming a mile off and tried to jump ship before they got purged. To kneecap them politically, the Nazi government painted the Black Front as dangerous leftist radicals threatening hardworking Germans. Two out of three of those claims weren’t wrong, but calling them “leftist” was a stretch so big it should’ve torn a ligament.
The Black Front called themselves “anti-capitalist,” but not in a Marxist way, more in a “Jews control the banks” kind of way. They supported ethnic cleansing, upheld the Nazi social order, and still wanted a capitalist economy. They were just as racist, sexist, and ableist as the Nazis. Their whole pitch was basically “vote for us if you think the current guys are too soft on minorities.” This wasn’t left vs right, or even right vs center. It was far-right fascists fighting other far-right fascists who were slightly more unhinged. Any overlap between the Nazis and the Black Front wasn’t proof that left and right are the same, it’s because both were authoritarian fascists trying to cash in on Germany’s collapse.

It wasn’t until later that Jean-Pierre Faye, with his truly impressive lifelong commitment to being on the wrong side of history, decided to formalize Hitler’s ambien fuelled ramblings into what he cutely named Horseshoe Theory in 1972. Faye was originally a fiction writer who pivoted to philosophy, and that background really shows. He’s widely regarded in the philosophy "biz" as, uh… not a reliable source.
His work is largely dismissed as nonsense for two big reasons. First, his “theory” amounts to edgy, high-school-level Hitler apologia, which would already be bad, but he was still doing it as late as 2004. Second, whenever he wades into political history, he treats the past, present, and future as if they all bleed into each other. That might sound poetic, but in practice it’s just a way to use the outcomes of the Nazi party to retroactively justify the words and actions of Hitler.

So, now we know the checkered history of Horseshoe Theory, let's look to the present. Who agrees with Horseshoe Theory today? Overwhelmingly the social right. We have Jonah Goldberg taking a break from defending Israel and criticising "feminist lunacy" in universities to write an entire article explaining why he personally believes in Horseshoe Theory.
https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2023-12-26/horseshoe-theory-of-politics-conservatives-liberals-ideology
We have center right radio presenter and podcaster Maajid Nawaz writing columns in the Daily Beast that horseshoe theory is alive and kicking in the lefts witch hunt of Muslims. The witch hunt in question being Hope Not Hate publishing a list of anti Muslim campaigners and this was Orwellian "left acting as right" because... fascists also make lists? I wish I were joking.
https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-lefts-witch-hunt-against-muslims/
And we have English transphobe J.K Rowling complaining that actually her relentless campaign against transgender people as a class is actually her attempting to free the country "of fascists on both left and right." Invoking horseshoe theory in spirit in a tweet from June 27 2016, her bigoted heyday.
And on the left we see people like senior lecturer of Politics at Kingston University Simon Choat dismissing horseshoe theory as "nonsense". He looks for convergence between left and right in any way that confirms horseshoe theory and finds that it amounts to the left bringing information and education while the right profits off of antisemitic dog whistles and leans on bigoted stereotypes.

Okay, okay, so I feel like I've proven that horseshoe theory is a far right propaganda. It started with the Nazi's, was formalised by a Hitler sympathetic failed philosopher and has been dragged into the modern day by podcast bros and all out bigots attempting to assure us that they are just like the communists. But is it wrong?
Yes.
First off we have a French election study in 2011 found support for far-left and far-right candidates was explained by different social and political logics. Their supporters didn’t share the same values, backgrounds, or occupy the same ideological space.
https://www.berghahnjournals.com/view/journals/fpcs/29/3/fpcs290307.xml
We have Shannon Brincat, senior lecturer in Politics and International Relations at University of the Sunshine Coast, outright calling horseshoe theory wrong in articles after decades of study.
https://theconversation.com/are-the-far-left-and-far-right-merging-together-thats-what-the-horseshoe-theory-of-politics-says-but-its-wrong-234079
Research by Van Hiel and colleagues showed that far-left respondents had significantly lower endorsement of things like anti-immigration attitudes and traditionalist values compared with far-right respondents, reinforcing that left and right extremists cannot simply be reduced to mirror images of one another.
https://biblio.ugent.be/publication/2109499
The picture becomes clear. In the circles of far right bigots and tepid centrist podcast bro's, horseshoe theory is unequivocal. In university-linked discourse, horseshoe theory is treated as a popular political idea or heuristic rather than a robust theoretical model, and in empirical studies, horseshoe theory crumbles completely.
The literacy rates of most adults being at around a 6th grade level is by design. If you read at a 6th grade level, you don't think you're illiterate. You are just capable enough of understanding basic written words to make yourself a profitable worker. Honestly knowing even more than that would make you a liability.
see carol is right to be freaked out but i also think that deliberately framing her with a huge 'president of the united states of america' flag while she tries to impose her worldview to several people who come from different countries of the global south has to be an intentional choice
She also chooses to drive around in a police car.
hivemind full aware that dyketron 3000 is trying to get their ass while said lesbian is also aware they are manipulating her in the ways they can. all parties still choosing to play with danger not only for their self-interest but for whatever glimpse of human connection the other can offer. the desperation of it all, how much bleeds through and how far one would bend for it, beautiful to me.
I love toxic yuri
if i go to a radfem's profile and it says "demisexual, pansexual" whatever, I'm clicking off immediately. like... how have you still not realized there's three sexualities? hetero, homo and bi?
Radical feminism is the belief that for society to be truly equal it must be completely torn down and rebuilt to that goal. That we cannot have a society that is fair built on a system of patriarchy and opression.
Feminist identified bigots (aka TERFs) have co opted our movement to try to lend credence to their bigoted, anti feminist ideology.
Radical feminists have been reclaiming the term for a while because these cretins do not deserve to claim that what they do is in the name of feminism. They do not wish to completely build an equal society anew, they wish to trample all progress in the name of their conservative agenda.
So probably when you see someone tagging post #radfem whose blog doesn't seem to track with the terfy shit you associate with the movement, it's probably a just a normal radical feminist who is sick of letting these obsessive freaks take over our belief system.
Where in “feminism” ( from the Latin “Fémina”, meaning “woman” and “ism” describing a doctrine or a ideology) do you see the word “equal” or “equality” ??
You know that a little Latin course can go a looong way for your understanding of the words and their meanings? ☺️
This is what happens when you believe that googling entomology of words is a replacement for actually being educated on the topic. I hope you're not too attached to whatever it is you do here, because slop AI will be beating you at this game by the time 2026 is out.

Ladies please DO NOT fall for the period underwear hate propaganda. Period underwear is sm better for the environment and for your body. I know so many girls who when they switched from pads/ tampons (which usually have cancer causing chemicals because they’re made by men) their period pain lessened and became less heavy.
It’s not the case for everyone but as someone who uses it I swear it doesn’t cause a noticeable smell and is just so much more comfortable in general.
TERFs are weirdly obsessed with trans men having incontinence. I've been studying TERFS for like a year, and in the off chance they mention trans men, they always bring up the fact that testosterone MIGHT cause incontinence. Its weird and borderline fetishistic
Oh yea TERFs fetishize trans men to an absurd degree. They’ll say shit that if a man said it, he would rightfully be ostracized. They’ll drone on and on about the fertility of young girls. Lament over the “lost beauty” of trans men once they start growing facial hair or balding. God forbid you get top surgery! They love to use the term “healthy breasts”. The “healthy breasts” of minors is a big concern for TERFS. it’s so fucking creepy.
TERFs aren’t feminists. Not only are they not feminists, they’re sexists and this may be an unpopular statement but I’d consider them sexual predators as well.
"B-bu-but men aren't allowed to express our feelings"
You're not allowed to beat us either but you're still doing that.
the double bombshell of trump covering up the epstein case + roblox being exposed for being run by people who knowingly enable predators on the platform is so fucking scary. how the fuck is pedophilia SO common and SO prolific among people in positions of power. this country is fucked beyond belief i can’t even think abt it too long or i start to get dizzy
Real simple answer: people who have vile desires are people who are drawn to positions of power to enable the evil shit they wanna get away with, and will work towards that.
This you?
