*He runs to her, very worried. What happened?.. Oh wyrm he shouldn't have left! This is his fault..*

(Monomon finds herself in the waters of Blue Lake, too weakened to float out of them. With small and slow movements, she makes her way to the lakeshore, the voice of her pupil suddenly startling her.)

Quirrel?

*He was trembling, as if he just saw her dead, as if he.. remembered.*

“Mama! Please get out of there!.. Please.”

*His voice cracked, he was trembling so much that he looked like he would fall anytime.*

Quirrel, I am fine....

(Her words failing to sound as reassuring as she wanted to. A tentacle wraps around the nearest rock, as she attempts to propel herself from the water onto the ground, breathing erroneously.)

*He tries to help her, seeing how hurt she was and feeling so much worse.*

“Mama.. Let's get out of here, please.. I don't want to see this lake again..”

[monomon--the--teacher]

(With Quirrel's help, Monomon finally gets out of the water. Still too weak to float, she uses all her tentacles to crawl away from the lake, except for one, which has hold of a long nail with a silver ornament, tightly grabbed.)

Quirrel, wait!

(Without another word, she pushes herself towards the charred tent, rummaging through the ashes for something. With a sigh of relief, her tentacles grasp a dreamnail, holding it close to her, along with the nail. Thank the Wyrm, it remains intact...

With a fearful expression, she turns to her beloved child.)

Did you see any mantises on your way here? Or....

(The next words remain unspoken, an uneasy sensation taking control of her.)

“..I didn't.. I was so worried.. Please tell me you are okay.. I won't leave you again, I promise Mama..”

*He begged, hugging her and calming himself a little. He noticed the nail but surprisingly didn't mention it like usual..*

(Monomon sets the two nails aside on the ground so that she can embrace him completely. Her grip is strong, as if she is afraid of losing him as well if she doesn't hold him firmly enough. She can't allow that to happen, not again. Never again.)

My child, you do not need to worry, I am fine. I assure you...

(She attempts to float once more, yet only manages to rise a few inches off the ground before a sharp pain pierces her. She is immensely grateful that her mask can hide her expression...)

We need to go to the Archives.

“..Mama.. Let me help you, please...”

“..I was worried when I saw you there.. it reminded me of when I tried to.. drown myself.”

*He told her, his "break" was a lie, it always had been a lie.*

(Her grip becomes even tighter. With her participating in that dream, she ended up abandoning her child, making him carry a significant responsibility, entirely by himself. How could she do that? Because of her actions, he was contemplating.... No. No, no, no. Had it been biologically feasible, she would have thrown up.

Her voice trembles, along with her entire bell, but she forces herself to maintain a calm demeanor. She caused him enough problems, and she does not wish to add to his concerns.)

I am sorry, Quirrel. For everything. Please, stop worrying about me. I will be fine.

“No, how could I stop doing that? You are my mother, Monom! I don't- care if you are not really my mother.. I love you, Mama, and I care about you.. Let me help, please..”

*Slowly, he brought her to the floor, wanting to rest.*

(Monomon chuckles softly, gently taking Quirrel's hands in a caring manner.)

My child...

(She feels her strength gradually returning to her body. She slowly rises from the floor again, picking the nails with her free tentacles while she maintains her grip on Quirrel's hand.)

Let's go home, shall we?

*He nodded and slowly gripped her hand too, feeling like a little kid, he remembered when Monomon brought him too meetings and he was just staring and asking questions.. that or running around and touching everything.*
