Childhood <3
This one has to have been done, right?
(Eridian Welcoming Committee concept and template by @justcakethanks )
one thing about msr close talking is that they don’t have to do that. it wasn’t necessary. they could literally just talk louder but instead they’re whispering two inches from each other faces and maybe its because the government is listening but more realistically it’s because they want to share the same skin

Something neuroscience-y that helps with prose: attention is selective. A character will not notice everything in a room. They will notice what matters to their goal, fear, desire, training, wound, or obsession. A jealous character notices hands. a hungry character notices food. A soldier notices exits. A lonely character notices pairs. Description becomes character when attention has a bias.
How Characters Carry Their Childhood!!
˙⋆✮ Still flinching at raised voices even when there's no threat behind them
˙⋆✮ Hoarding food or supplies in small ways without realizing why
˙⋆✮ The inability to accept praise without immediately deflecting or diminishing it
˙⋆✮ Becoming a different person entirely around family versus everyone else
˙⋆✮ Apologizing for things that were never their fault to begin with
˙⋆✮ Treating every disagreement like it might be the end of everything
˙⋆✮ The specific way they learned to make themselves smaller in a room
˙⋆✮ Being deeply uncomfortable when someone is genuinely kind with no catch
˙⋆✮ Watching other families interact and feeling something unnamed and heavy
˙⋆✮ Hyper-independence that looks like strength but is really just old fear
˙⋆✮ Needing to know the plan because uncertainty was never safe growing up
˙⋆✮ The way they parent themselves now using words no one ever said to them then
˙⋆✮ Finding comfort in routines because chaos was what home felt like
˙⋆✮ Trusting actions completely and words almost not at all
˙⋆✮ The anger that surfaces when someone else is treated the way they once were
˙⋆✮ Learning to read a room before entering it as a survival skill turned habit
˙⋆✮ The relationship they have with food, money, or safety that reveals everything
˙⋆✮ Becoming fiercely protective of others in the exact way no one was for them
˙⋆✮ The dream they still have sometimes that takes place in that old house
˙⋆✮ Loving loudly and completely because they decided they would be different
#i love how terrifying her face is in the second gif#like she’s all flirty#very similar to how she talked to sam that morning#but her demeanor is completely fucking different#like with sam and steve she’s natasha#she’d eat them alive but in the good way#which baddies she’s the black widow#where she will flirt and then murder them#and idk just the fliry greeting and the terrifying grin was such a good connection to her codename#i just#i love this movie so much#natasha (via buckysexual)

revenge for @mooingwithmidnight !
“Hetty’s death was self-sacrificial, she killed herself for her son!”
Guys!!! Everyone look at my dream snake… he’s arriving in 1-2 weeks im so excited istg
she was a history major
everyone be niceys to him or she’ll blow this whole antarctica up
"Stratt didn't care about Grace, she only kept him around because he was the tertiary science officer!"
Something about Hetty’s suicide that’s beautifully handled is that while being stuck in purgatory clearly feels like a punishment to her (trying to kiss Thor, trying to flee to Paris, etc.) narratively, it’s not.
It can be a really easy trap to fall into- Beetlejuice is a great example, where the souls who committed suicide are stuck as civil servants forever- compared to the other ghosts who are free.
But Hetty isn’t here because of how she died. It’s not a divine punishment for killing herself, it’s just what happened. It just is, and I think that’s beautiful.
Say It, Sister!
like as far as headcanons go I can't get over how perfectly the "stratt digging her nails into the palm of her hands" tic works on a symbolic level. of course she stains her hands with blood. of course it's her own.
