alyn murdering the high septon in cold blood is awful for his future as lord of the tides. if this show had any coherency, alyn should now become a social pariah for the highborn and the smallfolk alike.

Yep, this move doesn’t bode well for him. At no point in HOTD has Alyn ever cared about the glory of Old Valyria. So why should Rhaenyra’s words about the higher Valyrian gods be enough for him to murder the equivalent of the Westerosi Pope? Alyn is supposed to be a dutiful person, but this is still a strange direction for his characterization.

That murder scene is yet another diversion from book canon.

At the Starry Sept, [Alyn] received the blessing of the High Septon, who traced a seven-pointed star upon his brow in holy oil.

Ryan Condal saw this character always going out of his way to seek the High Septon’s blessing in the book and decided he was going to make him murder the High Septon instead.

Funny how Roderick mocks Gwayne's size when just days earlier he himself chickened out of a 2v1 against Criston, who is ABSOLUTELY the same build and height as Gwayne.

Easy to be brave (with an army at your back) until you run into Cole.

And this is despite Cole's army being so exhausted from hunger and lack of sleep that men were just dropping dead, and EVEN THEN Cole, without armor, remained a fucking threat, killing 12 men like it was nothing.

It just feels weird and kinda racist that Rhaena’s book plot was taken away and now she’s being hit by a white woman when in the book she has a pink dragon, was feminine, and had a good relationship with Jeyne Arryn. WOW, a poc character who was in power, treated well, and learned the ways of a court is treated horribly in the show. It just confuses me, why make the Velaryons black if they weren’t going to be done right, like god forbid a black character has a good storyline.

i don't understand why people think it's a gotcha moment that daemon killed aemond above the god's eye. like yeah i could also kill my enemy if i went into the fight knowing i was gonna kill myself to bring the guy down while he was fighting fair. he went into this knowing he couldn't kill aemond in an actual fight and purposefully didn't buckle himself. he had caraxes, a younger, smaller and more agile dragon that should be better for fighting in close proximity than vhagar is, and he still chooses to jump to his death to get aemond. people be commenting his gifs under aemond edits meanwhile daemon had to basically kill himself to get aemond. it's really not the feat yall think it is. i don't think you 'win' the battle if you also had to die. just sayin
