I love that the modern-day tumblr post equivalent of chain emails only requires me to reblog a relatively pleasant image instead of forward an email to a bunch of my friends and family members to quell my raging anxiety.
It’s a win win. I get a bit of hope, you get a cute birb photo

Random Moonlight thought:
I’m curious how the show would have ended up had it remained Twilight like episodes and other things. In the Pilot episode, Josef is set up to be the villain in the shadows, at least that’s what I think was implied by the ending.
At the end of the episode, Mick and Beth are hugging and Coraline is watching on a neighboring building/rooftop. Then Josef comes up and tells Coraline “there will be time enough for all of this”. Kind of implying revenge? I’m assuming because Coraline looks upset and is like staring very intently at the pair.
The interaction makes it seem like they were in cahoots. So I’m curious where they planned to go with all of this, like why was Josef wanting to go after Mick? How would this affect Mick’s already huge distrust in others? Would Mick be forced to kill Josef at some point?
What was Josef’s end goal? Is it just a ploy to trick Coraline? Is he secretly in love with her (he calls her my love and says the reason he keeps living is because of love)? Was Josef ever Mick’s friend (prob not if he was lying to him, right)?
What kind of cases would Mick work on? What kind of stories would Beth cover? How does Mick/Beth play out without Josh in the picture? Would Coraline do that whole Morgan thing (though I suppose it would be a little harder with visible burn scars but she can also use that to her advantage if you think about it)?
Also Beth knows Mick is a vampire from day one, and that he saved her as a child so there’s no tip toeing around that whole situation. So how does that affect for the rest of the story? How does it affect the progression of their relationship?
So many interesting what ifs. The one I’m most curious about is the whole Josef/Coraline team up like what exactly was Josef going after Mick all about? Because I can’t really think of anything that would make sense. Yeah Mick goes after other vampires but they are typically the ones who almost expose vampires to humans, so it’s like they’ll be killed anyway.
It's my birthday today (12/14) I've had so many disappointing adult birthdays but I hope next year is better
I'm probably going to watch the 10th episode of moonlight (2007) today as it aired on my 14th birthday that year
Happy birthday 🎈🎉

Mick St. John (Moonlight)
The finale of Moonlight (2007) Sonata is one of my favorite episodes of the series. I watched it the night it aired it was an event for me, but I want to have a nitpick about something
Freshies are brought up again in this episode (the word is said for the first time in the first episode but neither Josef or Mick go into detail) why does Beth get so pissy that Mick who's in his 80s (he was turned in the 50s) has probably had a few Freshies in his life time? it's either have a freshie (a willing blood donor) do the blood bank route that he's been doing or hurt and kill people
I do believe it's connected to the some Jealousy, the vampire "blood testing" scene with Mick and Joseph both biting Simone and probably even the execution scene towards the end of the episode but like damn can you just be happy he doesn't have Freshies now and doesn't seem to have had them for a while?
I think it’s a jealousy thing too and probably a bit of resentment? Especially considering when you compare it to the scene where Mick feeds off Beth and she looks deeply uncomfortable and in a bit of pain. Understandable considering Mick was dying at that point.
Also Mick’s behavior towards Beth after would make her upset too. Because after he fed off her he’s now actively ignoring her and being awkward and running away from her. Making it seem like feeding off someone is a big deal.
Then she see’s the whole scene with Mick feeding off Simone and she’s moaning and looking turned on and after he’s like “lol it’s not that deep why are you upset?”
So I think it’s just like being annoyed at Mick’s flip flopping views on feeding off humans and overall jealously
I do wonder if the timing of those scenarios might have something to do with it + the way Mick phrased it gave Beth the idea bloodletting was intimate in nature(?)
When Beth offers her blood, Mick specifically phrases it as "Not yours" when rejecting the offer. I feel if his hang-up was more he didn't want to accidentally drain her, he would have phrased it a lot more generically, but the wording made it seem as if he has a problem drinking her blood specifically.
Also, pre-Mortal Cure Mick seems way more pessimistic towards his vampire nature (even outright agreeing when Beth asks him if he hates being a vampire) so that could also factor in to his reluctance. Meanwhile, after being re-turned, I noticed Mick is much more...accepting with his being a vampire(?) He openly jokes about going out for freshies with Josef, even being "disappointed" when they were just there to buy furniture (i.e. "What's Left Behind") and I'm pretty sure if Simone had occurred earlier, he probably wouldn't be as willing to feed on her (aka "test" her blood type).
That might explain why Mick seems to switch up whether it's a big deal or not? Like maybe when he was in his huge Reluctant Vampire phase, he saw freshies as a big deal meanwhile after being re-turned and he's in the slow acceptance stage of his monster grief he starts seeing it in a more casual light. 🤔
That’s true, didn’t really think about that
