Being a Professor Sycamore familial yumeshipper in a world of romantic ones is so funny to me because I can picture these people in a happy, loving relationship with Augustine, and I’m just the heavily jealous, feral looking teenage son stood in the corner seething with rage over any chance of my dad not giving me attention 💔
You’re all lovely I just find it so awkward because, like, I don’t really want another parent, I already see Sophie as my mum even though she and Augustine aren’t together anymore 😭 especially distrusting after Lysandre ewwww I hate him.
I’m making Professor Sycamore’s lab in Pokopia!! (anime accurate)
Okay so obviously it’s nowhere near done yet, collecting the resources for it has been a NIGHTMARE. I’m never touching the rough walls or yellow paint ever again after this I swear.
This isn’t gonna be entirely accurate because there’s some areas of the lab we’ve just never seen before (or I can’t get a good enough angle in the shots from the anime), and some of the wall colourings are just kinda impossible to do with how I’ve built the lab. It’s more a simplified version that you’d expect to actually find in the game as a pre-built structure, as well as me having a bit of creative freedom to express the lab how I’ve always pictured it.
The observatory’s easily my favourite area. It took me a whole day to decorate it and getting all the glass panes and skylights took about 3 days of on and off grinding for glass and iron ingots. I also kept running out of stone for the tiles, and I still need to figure out how to do a flat, glass roof, which I honestly don’t think is possible unfortunately.
There’s a LOT of habitats and houses in here. The Pokémon here vary wildly, as I kinda wanted the idea behind this build to be that after the lab was abandoned, the Pokémon did it up and slowly started coming from all over to move into this sanctuary.
Had to add a hot spring, the Pokémon here LOVE it. Umbreon, Dusclops and Smearguru are regulars, and Volcanion lives here too!
There’s also a shameless OC insert into one of the rooms lmao, hey it’s my build I can do what I want. This is my OC Millie’s room, Ampharos lives here because it’s her partner, he misses her.
Like I say this isn’t anywhere near done yet!! I have the kitchen, living room, storage room, Alain’s bedroom and Professor Sycamore’s (and Lysandre’s mweheheh) bedroom, as well as finishing up the walls by replacing the temporary dirt and grass with painted rough walls. I also need to grind a bit more clay from the Pikachu island to finish up the roof.
I knew from before I even had the game that I wanted to do this build and boy am I glad I got straight into it, I’m so happy with it. Just patiently waiting for the other two Kalos starters as well as the Garchomp line to be added to the game to really make it accurate :3

When you’re a familial yumeshipper and your dad’s one of the most important characters in the game but he doesn’t show up in the sequel bc he’s in mourning over his actually not dead situationship and he hands the lab over to that fuckass blue haired scientist you hate who also hates you back so you just curl up into a ball and die.
They just hate gay ppl that much that they couldn’t handle reuniting them sigh.
The blonde girl in the Wrongside Outimals commercial is most definitely Marie Payne
Okay so a lot of people have already universally agreed on this, but I think it’s HIGHLY likely that the blonde girl in the Wrongside Outimals commercial is Marie Payne / Mommy Long Legs. There’s the obvious of her hair being styled basically identically to Mommy’s, with both of them having the ponytail facing the same way secured with a scrunchy, but this girl seems to be in the range of 10-13 years old, and we know Marie is around that age thanks to her rough height in the New Year’s art, as well as their skin tones being basically the same.
Additionally, according to the Poppy Playtime fanon wiki, we know that the Wrongside Outimals were made anytime between 1990/91 to 1995. The commercial is very 90s style, too. We know Marie was turned into Mommy Long Legs in 1991, due to CatNap being made in November of 1990, and there being almost a 40 experiment gap between the two of them, which would be impossible to achieve in the one and a half months left of 1990, especially given how rickety the experiments still were at that time. Also we know the Smiling and Nightmare Critters were made back to back thanks to Rabie Baby’s experiment number being revealed, but that’s a theory for a different time.
The Mommy Long Legs toy commercial dates to February of 1991, and given the fact that we now know that, despite having a commercial made, the Wrongside Outimals never hit the market, so Playtime probably has a track record of making the commercials before their respective toys are even tested out. The commercials are probably made FOR the testing audiences, hence why the MLL one has a date on it: it’s its own standalone tape created for test audiences. All of this is to say that Marie’s experiment date is probably around February of 1991, at the earliest. Whilst yes, the toy was made AFTER the Bigger Body due to Mommy’s success in the Game Station with the orphans, the whole project had to be planned out in advance, and we know MLL canonically went through many different designs until they landed on one that wasn’t too scary for kids.
Also we know CatNap was settled in Playcare by February of 1991 so Marie’s nightmare incident was probably around that time.
Another thing I wanted to point out is the reason the Outimals were made in the first place, and I believe that to be to try and replace the Smiling and Nightmare Critters in a way. Playtime releases the SC in 1989, the CatNap incident happens, the line starts failing. Playtime panics and launches the NC in a last ditch attempt to save the line, probably in 1990, but it doesn’t work. But Playtime believes in this collectable plush concept and so attempts the Wrongside Outimals in early 1991: a line of multiple different characters with their own names and personalities that kids are encouraged to collect all of. Like the SC and NC (we literally see in the NC commercial the tagline “collect them all”).
Marie likely filmed this commercial, then had her nightmare incident not long after. I’ve had the theory for a while that Playtime used its orphans in its commercials because it was easier than scouting out child actors, and the orphans were probably told it would increase their adoption chances. Yuck.
Anyways let me know what you think!! I wanted to do a bit more of a deep dive into evidence that this is Marie, I LOVE theory crafting so much.

Pokémon XYZ / Z-A AU where Grisham, Griselle and a couple other Team Flare kids attempt to escape Lysandre Labs but fail :(
I don’t have any more art for this AU right now because I came up with it like… two nights ago? But I wanted to yap about it because I genuinely adore the concept.
Grisham and Griselle are twins and they’ve spent their whole lives in Team Flare (the group’s been running ~20 years and they’re around 14-15). The bubble of indoctrination of Team Flare supposedly doing what was best for humanity finally starts to pop for them, and they VERY secretly recruit some other kids to figure out the truth of what Team Flare truly intends to do to the world.
Millie Beaufort is the daughter of a high ranking extraction specialist (Emanuel Beaufort) and a biologist who works directly under Xerosic and heads the Zygarde project (Clarissa Beaufort). She is 13 and never really agreed with Team Flare’s plans, even the “good” ones.
Corbeau has just been taken in by Lysandre, so he sees Team Flare for what it truly is due to having been there only a few months by this point.
That’s all they can really recruit because the other kids are so indoctrinated that any wrong slip of the mouth and our heroes will be in BIG trouble. As will their parents.
The only Pokémon these guys really have are Grisham and Griselle’s two Litleo, Corbeau’s Venipede, and Millie is still without a Pokémon due to her being one of the weakest in the youth program and “not deserving one” in Lysandre’s eyes. So not really anything that can take down Team Flare’s hoards of Houndoom and other extremely powerful and dangerous Pokémon.
As you can probably expect by this information and the title, the escape doesn’t go very well. Hooray.
Overall I wanted this AU to kinda be a glimpse into a version of the Flare kids’ backstories to show the systemic abuse that ran within Team Flare over those two decades. The kids who were weak links being punished for it, how the true intentions of Team Flare were manipulated so the kids went along with them, etc.. Grisham is clearly extremely ashamed of his past so he was probably very into what Team Flare was doing at some point, and I wanted to portray him and his sister realising “oh shit this isn’t good in the slightest”.
I wanna get this on AO3 if possible, or here maybe!! Idk, I’ve never really written on here before. We’ll see. Just wanted to dump the basics of my idea down. Millie’s got her whole main AU I still need to write and make art for too.
