A spinoff from the new MR card that will be released soon (though I planned for this to be written in October, not in August ;;)
T/W: Coercion, Supernatural stuff, mentions of de*th, Trains
Summary: After a long hard month of endless work, you finally made your way back home on a train. The train however, did not stop at your station, leaving you stuck with an unknown man.
"Next station: Longview Shore. This train will end its service at Longview Shore."
The PA system blared over the loud sounds of the train traveling fast on the tracks, repeating its service end again. You let out a sigh as you held your bag, getting ready to get off. Work has been hetic, and for once, you've been rewarded with a day off given by your boss.
You stood up even before the train slowed to a halt, walking to the front of the door as you waited for the door to open. A pleasant "Longview Shore" echoed as the train's doors opened, letting you out onto the last station. You stepped out, and immediately halted.
Longview Shore Station never looked like this. You're sure that most stations are decorated the same, but, isn't the layout different?
The train door closed shut as you read the words on top of the doorframe opposite you. "Stellis Front".
You had gotten off the wrong station.
Sighing, you sat down on one of the seats as you waited for the next train, looking up to see the estimated time of arrival; 5 minutes. Wasn't bad considering how late it is into the night.
You looked down on your sore feet, taking your heels off slightly to ease the tension. A figure appeared before you, and when you looked up, your eyes met a pair of golden yellow eyes staring right back at you.
"Sorry, how do you get to Longview Shore?" He asked, before giving a small smile. "I thought this station was Longview Shore."
"No way, I also thought this station was Longview Shore." You replied, surprise evident in your voice. "Its the next stop on the train here, just sit a while and you'll be there."
He thanked you as he sat down next to you, and suddenly you're aware of all the other seats around the station. And yet, he chose to sit close to you.
Perhaps he just wanted company, its getting late afterall.
"Do you live at Longview Shore too?" he asked, interrupting the silence in the air. You blinked at him, wondering why he would even ask this question.
"Yeah... I guess..." You replied back slowly, wondering if it was a good idea to keep talking to him. Maybe its just a casual question, maybe he thought you were one of his neighbours. Maybe.
One of the lights suddenly dimmed, and you turned around to look at the missing spot of light shining on the train station grounds. You breathed a sigh of relief, it was just a faulty light bulb, the train station isn't going to close anytime soon.
"Sorry, I should have at least introduced myself." The man continued, and you snapped your head back to him. "My name is Vyn Richter, a pleasure to be of acquaintance."
"Its a pleasure too" You politely replied back, and you thought you could see a hint of glee in his eyes, though it quickly disappeared. Those very golden eyes has been watching you since the start, hasn't it?
Suddenly feeling very conscious of how he's staring at you for some time, you looked away quickly. The train should be arriving at any moment now, perhaps.
A butterfly landed on your shoulder, and you looked down to admire its bright blue colored wings, fluttering lightly as it rested. To your horror, the brillant shade of blue rapidly faded, revealing a pair of brown wings instead. The butterfly, now void of color, quickly flapped away from you, as you sat there in disbelief.
How could colors fade away so easily?
You shook your head to clear your thoughts away, perhaps it is just a trick of the eye, perhaps you're just tired. The exhaustion slowly building up seems like the only plausible explaination.
The train has not arrived, and you turned your head to check the estimated arrival time on the tv, just slightly locking gaze with a pair of red eyes. 5 minutes still. Has time not passed? You sighed as you reverted back to your position, failing to notice that Vyn is now not looking at you, though it mattered little anyways.
"You have an incredible complexion." Vyn suddenly spoke, and you nearly jumped in fright. Clearly the eerie surroundings was causing you to freak out easily.
"Uh, thank you." You accepted, trying to calm your racing heart as you kept telling yourself; this is a perfectly normal train station.
And yet so it seems.
"You're quite the beauty yourself." He mused, and suddenly you were aware of how red his eyes has gotten, all traces of gold gone, and before you could react, he grabbed your arm tightly.
"I've come to desire you a lot." Vyn said monotonously, and you shuddered as you tried to free yourself. When is the train coming?
"Desire how so?" You weakly replied, begging that the train would come soon to save you. Panic started to seep in at a rapid pace as his grip tightened.
"I've been watching you for some time now, you could say, I am enamoured... Just how are you able to walk so gracefully, how you like your tea served warm. Is it hard to say, that I like you so?" His voice steady, devoid of emotions as he recounted the little details about you.
"You've been watching me?" You asked, pulling back your arm away from his grasp somewhat successfully; though your arm is freed, his hands found its way to your chin, holding you... tenderly?
"I thought I would never find love, never find the true one for me, all these decades, centuries, I've waited, at long last..." Vyn(?) mumbled, his touch on you was soft, and yet, you felt a chill down your spine with every touch of his.
"Maybe you haven't found the right one for you, I am definitely not." You replied, and his eyes flared.
"You are the right one." Vyn(?) seethed, all traces of the gentle young man from before now gone. "Once I got you, the Moon Goddess will allow the Moon to shine brighter tonight."
"What Moon Goddess?" You sputtered, the gears in your brain turning at Vyn(?)'s comment; is he trying to get a sacrifice?
"Don't worry, the Moon Goddess will understand. She knows all." He replied. "She has been waiting for your arrival, for our ceremony to begin."
My Arrival?
Suddenly the sounds of the train tracks running grew louder, and a ray of light seeped into the train station. The train was finally here. You quickly grabbed your bag and tried to make a run for it, but Vyn(?) was faster.
"I don't intend on letting you go soon." Vyn(?) said, blocking the entrance of the train doors, just as the train doors opened, allowing the view of the station to the passengers on board.
"I don't wish to be whatever this is." You replied, standing boldly in front of him. You don't want to know what would happen if you stayed, your goal now was to get onboard the train.
You quickly pushed his arms away and hopped on the train, Vyn(?) turned around to catch up to you, just as the train doors closed.
Panting as you catch your breath, you could faintly see Vyn(?) on the outside, glaring at you with those same red eyes, and you could just slightly make out the words his lips formed.
"I've got you."
Wobbling towards a seat on the train, you plopped down and shuddered at the thought of almost dying as a sacrifice. You've heard of all those cult stuff Kiki talked about before, never would you have guessed that you almost became an offering.
"Hey, are you okay?" A man next to you asked, his hand on your shoulders as you calmed yourself down.
"Yes I'm alright." You replied, turning your head to look at his golden eyes. "I'm okay."
He breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good to hear. You looked troubled." You could almost laugh, were it not for the fact that you almost died.
"I do feel troubled." You said, "But its okay now."
"I see. I wouldn't want a beautiful person to fret so much" He released his hand on your shoulders, the warmth suddenly replaced by the cool air of the train. You tensed up at the sudden comment by him, but he quickly looked away.
"Your husband must be worried." He said, after a while.
My... husband?
"Sorry? I dont have a husband?" You replied, confused as you once again met his golden eyes.
"Don't you have one? What's that golden ring here?" He pointed to your left hand, and when you held it up, you let out a scream, shocked, as the golden ring shone brightly under the train lights.
Where did the ring come from?
The train passed through a tunnel, before emerging out again into the open fields. Eventually, it stopped in front of a small station. It looked abandoned at one glance, and yet, a passenger wants to get off.
A man stepped out, carrying a woman in his arms. His movements slow but deliberate, afraid to wake his companion up.
Sitting her against the wall of the empty station, the train doors closed and went off again. The man sat next to the woman, tenderly reaching out to hold her left hand.
Slowly bringing her hand to his lips, he kissed the ring finger banded with the golden ring, interlocking his hand with hers.
"I've got you here with me, at last..."

Only ghost files on it atm but Mystery Files and Puppet History are next. Watcher has back pedalled on deleteing all their free content to lock it behind a pay wall but y'know what? maybe I just dont want to give them ad revenue anymore, which is evil but screw them. Also they may still back pedal on their back pedalling, which is to many pedals anyways.
