One thing you have to know about me is that I will regularly go weeks responding to anything you say sporadically and with few words. It is not personal. I just don't have anything to say. Cool. Word. Woah. These are some of the many different words I know.

@ghastlyvampire just looked at apollo. burying my head in my hands. hera looks normally colored thank GOD but it’s sus as fuck that everyone darker than her just. grey.
did a couple quick athena recolors! in order: original sprite, my recolor to keep the values close to the original, and then what i thought looked baller as fuck. might do these for the rest mentioned above too
adding hestia too :) i kept her vitiligo spots the same color bc i think they’re supposed to look grey for an ash/coal spots kinda thing but also i kinda wanna do a version where the vitiligo is more, like. accurate. anyway, in order: original sprite, closest value, mid value, baller as hell
original + an edit, genuinely the contrast of the BRIGHT RED blood and all the stark white looks so much better on a darker hue
and apollo as well, just to finish em all off :) i actually did two for apollo bc like. on the one hand, apollo as sun god made me go AH. WARM UNDERTONES. but the gold on him is pretty cold so i made a cooler toned one too, in order it’s og sprite then warm then cool
also like. thing i've noticed while doing these edits. darker skinned gods don't get features that generally come along with being a poc.
everyone except athena (who has protective braids) has either straight hair (hestia, ares) or 2c-3a type curls at most (apollo). hair colors across the board are uncommon to unnatural to find on a poc (ares and hestia with white, apollo with blond, athena with blue-purple). eye colors are either unnatural (ares and hestia with red), or colors that don't generally occur in poc (apollo with that tawny brown-gold, athena with the light blue-grey). no one has lighter palms or fingernails. or two toned lips, actually, with the exception of hestia, who's wearing lipstick on her lower lip.
no design is allowed to get too close to what people actually look like. isn't that interesting.
