Um, less–Or actually, more relaxed? I mean, having an infant is definitely driving me fucking wild, but…I feel calmer recently. Just more chill, less sensitive. Jordan’s noticed. He hasn’t said anything and won’t, but I’ve noticed him noticing.

God, I’d love some of that. I’d say my primary feeling is exhaustion, but I’m definitely less phased by things with this one. But having two to take care of is....a lot.

With Vincent, it was a little different, because I was alone for most of the beginning, so there was even more exhaustion and fear that I wasn’t doing things right, but with both of them, when things were calm, they were perfect. Nothing could bother me those moments when they’d be napping against me.

Okay, next steps: Epidural. There’s no point in you continuing to be in discomfort, especially if this is the direction we’re headed. I’m also going to order some medications to help stabilize everything. The nurse will explain them all to you and you and your husband can sign off on them.

Morgan, I think the main thing I want to stress is that you’re going to be okay. If you can keep your body as relaxed as you can manage, I can get you and your son through this fine. I just need you to trust that I know what I’m doing.

I’d say it wasn’t in the birth plan, but I know by now this’ll happen how it needs to happen. You have my consent for surgery if it gets to that point.

Your blood pressure is up, which could be for a few reasons. But I need you to try and relax your body as much as possible. I know that sounds hard, being in labor, but if you can drop it back down, then we’re in safer waters. If you stay here or go higher, then… We might need to prep for surgery considering he’s still breeched.

Get me an epidural and maybe I’ll stress less.

Well, being candid, he’s not wanting to move on his own. He started, got about halfway, and then he managed to position himself on his side. It’s not exactly uncommon, but if he doesn’t make his way back round in the next hour or two, we’ll need to become a bit more hands on with it.

It’s not ideal, Morgan, but like I said, it happens more often than you think. Kids have a mind of their own, even before they make it all the way out. The key here is to see if he’ll right himself and to monitor you.

Fuck. And here I was hoping he wouldn’t be any more trouble than the one I’ve got at home.
