AGENCY POSITION: Superior Agent
From the moment she was old enough, Morgan has been prepared for the life of a hunter. Her family had always had that plan for her, like their parents before them and their grandparents before that. It was the Chase family way; they would tell her when they found her instead with a nose in a book instead of training as she was supposed to be doing. Whilst she could understand having a purpose, it frustrated her to have a future planned out for her and she was not shy in telling those around her how she truly felt about having just one choice in her life.
Despite this constant conflict usually initiated by her, Morgan’s family life was as happy as it could be. Her parents were madly in love, a rarity to be seen it seems these days, and she was settled comfortably between two sisters with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. The Chase sisters were unstoppable forces of nature, with a reputation that preceded them throughout their small Georgian town. The girls were all trained to be lethal weapons, cunning and smart and prepared for any situation that came their way.
It was in her early teens when Morgan learned to love and appreciate the art form, and when she experienced her biggest heartbreak. Just days before her 15th birthday, her mother and sister were home for a visit from New York where they had settled whilst the oldest Chase child could attend the academy, visiting on weekends. A random attack by vampires on their property left their mother dead and their sister fighting for life, despite their efforts almost all the vampires escaped. Her sister succumbed to her injuries in the night.
What they had not counted on was her sister accidentally ingesting vampire blood during the battle, and the next night they were stunned to find their lost sister on the doorstep, begging to be let in. Their instincts said to kill her, and for a moment Morgan thought her father might, knowing that his two youngest children should not have to go through that. But at that crucial moment, he failed, and their sister escaped into the evening.
Since then, Morgan has harboured a hatred of vampires that runs deeper than familial bonds, stronger than any emotion she could feel. She threw herself into her training, taking her older sister’s place at the Academy in New York, one thought on her mind: avenging her mother and sister. When she turned eighteen and received her marks, she began her rookie service, yet there was still a small part of her that wanted to think beyond hunting, to a time when she was no longer able to move as she could. She made a deal with her father that she would study, maintaining her work with the Agency as well as studying as she majored in women’s and gender history, her masters specialising in the Tudor period. She teaches both at Columbia University, having been teaching for the past two years.
However, she still spends her nights working as a senior agent hunting down anyone involved with her sister’s death, and her sister herself. What she will do when she finds her, she has no idea and there’s a small part of her that hopes she doesn’t find her.
