U should tell ur mom that she should never feel embarassed or ashamed for being a fan of Sherlock and to exploit it publicly, as fangirling applies to both genders and regardless of age. I'm over 30 and I'm a casual fan of Sherlock and proud of it.

I don’t think my mom’s necessarily ashamed of it; she’s just the kind of person who likes to admire things quietly, or out loud when she’s around people she knows well. She also points out stuff/makes reference to shows we’ve watched completely out of the blue (like “that outfit looks like something John would wear” or “hey those cars look like the Dharma vans from LOST”) and that’s how I know she’s hooked!

Okay so-- my mom (who is a pretty big BBC Sherlock fan even though she tries to stay low-key about it) is in China right now for work purposes and she happened upon a BBC Sherlock cafe and I just??

The place is called 221b Bakers St. and even though it features memorabilia from a whole range of Sherlock Holmes related things, it seems to be primarily BBC Sherlock themed.
The menu! (I can’t translate the Chinese, unfortunately. :( ) Haha, “The recommendations by Mrs. Hudson” i am so done
All of the little things that were displayed were for sale, like pillows, books, necklaces, etc. etc.
They had a wall of photos of different Sherlock adaptations!
Including our boys from BBC!
My mom already had breakfast that day so she just ordered a cappuccino (which came with a cookie). But they had a lot of specialty/character themed items, such as Sherlock and Moriarty “rolls”. They even had multiple-tiered English afternoon tea trays.
There were quite a lot of rooms, each of them having a slightly different theme; this one had a TAB sort of feel; reminds of the dining room in Victorian!John’s home.

The ceiling featured a map of London!! Super cool!
They had a glass case with Sherlock’s iconic long coat and deerstalker! He even had a little key to 221b dangling from the collar. Adorable!

Finally, one of my favourite photos! The wall features a collage from various episodes.. The Hounds of Baskerville, The Blind Banker and The Abominable Bride, etc. Also... H shaped chairs (...for “Holmes”?)
I had heard of Sherlock cafes before (I believe there’s one in Shanghai and Seoul?) but apparently this one opened pretty recently. Close to home (for my mom) too!
And I don’t know about the legalities of this place (I’m assuming Mofftiss know about it because the Shanghai one is pretty well-known and this one seems to be from the same chain), but either way you have to admit it’s pretty cool!
