Blog is still under construction, but needs a lot of reworking. I realized while trying to queue bits of longer writing that Tumblr posts just aren't a great format for it, even in shorter segments. My to-do list ever grows.

I also have added more to some projects over the years than I anticipated, started new ones, and have done less on others than expected.

My goal is still posting for easy sharing and feedback on multiple platforms, because I think that's what'll be best for my growth. This includes letting things stand that I know are Not Perfect.

It also involves an extensive amount of indexing (which lets me catch up on different formats of backups), and breaks to keep writing more.

Bigtime fingers crossed for catching up. There's documents I could just link as-is for now, but I still haven't figured out workarounds for some kinds of issues.

(I like gdocs' commenting setup, but it lags like fuck on longer chaptered documents, and acts obnoxious about hyperlinks to other documents within each other.)

it never fails to surprise me how some people will simply take every single thing in a story at face value and assume that what the characters are saying or doing or thinking must always be true even when all of the context clues are screaming the opposite

The end of this month will be quite busy. Otherwise, my new goal for most weeks is to focus on editing on weekdays, and post backlogged drafts or fresh editing work to AO3 on weekends.

I don't think failing to set goals, or failing to continue to try, is the way to find my rhythm. Once more unto the breach.

Wrangling the shit tier illustrations I did for a questionable gaslamp fantasy short story

Wrangling the full major character names I charted out somewhere, and lost, for one nearly-done multi-chaptered draft I'll toss up without edits

Meanwhile I found one of my least useful outlines I've ever made. Outstanding.

Superior writing advice:

Make your characters FREAKS. Make them DERANGED. Make people think ‘surely this one guy towards the back is normal’ only to reveal FUCK NO. The guy in the back exclusively collects clown paintings (paintings done by professional clowns) and has an irrational hatred of second floors.
