a little trip || T’Challa & Ororo
ororo-mxnroe:
The library, Ororo found, was quieter than most places on campus. It was serene, what with its rule of silence. However, with this silence came a negative aspect, for when Ororo tripped and fell, she could not call out for help. In fact, the most she could do was wince and grip her twisted ankle.
It was here that she decided to text the group chat in hopes that someone would be nearby and able to rescue her. Ororo and T’Challa had agreed to meet to watch the Fight Club, and as such, she had been texting the other man before she had tripped and fell. Now, as she pulled out her phone to send the group a text she was all too happy to find that T’Challa was free to help her.
And so, Ororo sat there, gripping her twisted ankle as she waited for T’Challa to arrive (hopefully with some ice).

t’challa had just gotten back to his room from a long day, sitting down to file out important documents and the like when he got the text. it had been a surprise, given that they were just talking on the phone about the movie Fight Club. however, the situation seemed incredibly urgent. so much so, t’challa didn’t bother with a car.
he grabbed some ice, and he then he was off. seeing the king of Wakanda fly past you in a sprint at night would definitely be considered shocking, and he got enough looks to know that this was exactly the case. however, he was more focused on finding the library. he eventually arrived, slowing down to a halt.
“ororo! i’ve got the ice.” t’challa assured her, disappointed that he didn’t bring any medicinal remedies from Wakanda with him. “we’ll call this even after you saved me when we were children, yeah?” he smiled, an attempt to comfort her.
jxstaguy:
“You’re the royal guy, right?” One minute he’s a small-time vigilante in Hell’s Kitchen and the next minute he’s being challenged to a fight by the ruler of a small nation. What is his life, even? “Sure, if it’s not going to damage your reputation too much when I beat you.”
“that.. is what the people call me. but please, feel free to call me t’challa.” he assured, adjusting his stance. t’challa smiled at the man, chuckling. “i just hope that the people of wakanda do not find out about my dreaded defeat in Iowa.” he joked, nodding. “on your call.”
likeadiamondfrost:
“I like that challenge, very much.“ Her gaze moved over his form a smirk tilting the corner of her lips up. “In all the years we’ve known each other, you should know by now I’m more of a mental fighter rather than physical.” She looked at her manicure before him; brow raised, “Loud? Hmm, I’ll have to remember that. Though that seems like a bit of frivolous advice unless I’m always going to come up against you..”
“oh, i do know. however, it is always beneficial to learn your combative advantage on both fronts. perhaps one day a foe will figure out how to tune out your mind?” t’challa replied with a small smile, shrugging. “it is always good to consider.” he added. “believe me, there are far more superior fighters than i. the phrase, ‘it is better to be seen not heard.’ is more useful than people realize.”
b-morse:
“— Don’t worry, I’ll go easy on you.” She teases, getting into her beginning fight stance, ready to move at the signal.
“believe me, that will not work in your favor.” he grinned, balancing himself. a stable fighting position usually worked out in the end. “on your call, as a courtesy.” he teased, nodding.
sightlessruth:
“Excuse me, hello. From my perspective these aren’t, I mean I’m not, any different here from anywhere else,” Ruth said. She waved a hand in front of her own blind eyes for emphasis. “For asking I’m stepping here but I don’t know if this is any better either.”
“oh, my apologies. forgive me, i’m so used to people hiding in hopes to snap a picture. paranoia does not suit me well.” t’challa responded, nodding. “oh, did you need anything?”
canitbub:
“Was jus’ waited for a minute to see if ya were almost done.” Logan admitted as he round the line of gym bleachers. “Yer pretty light on yer feet.”
“oh, well.. i usually don’t finish up for about another hour, but you may join me.. or i could move to the courtyard. ” t’challa shrugged. “thank you, i try my best.” he noted that the man carried himself like a soldier, confident yet adaptable.
mystique-andproud:
“Are you sure about that?” She stepped out in here true blue glory. Having observed his fight for some time now. “You’re good.” not great, she thought to herself.
“i am quite certain.” t’challa replied, still following through with his training as they spoke. “thank you very much, feel free to jump in if you’d like.” he offered.

♘ — How do you handle stress?
“I like to think I handle stress very well. it’s no secret that I work better under pressure, and as a king, that couldn’t be more of an advantage. the last thing I will do is panic, for stress comes with the job. I’ve known this since I was a child.”
♞ — Are you creative? In what ways?
“as a king, it’s almost essential. the city plans of entire central part of Wakanda, the capital, were all published by me. however, I feel that I’m most creative with technology. things such as designing jets, armor, and machines. that is where I feel most at home.”

T’Challa still remembers the first Father’s Day, the first day to appreciate fatherhood without a father.

ororo-mxnroe:
Ororo stepped out from where she was hiding, her steps light as she moved across the mat and to where T’Challa was standing. “You always could sense others better than most, my friend,” she said, softly.
“ororo! i had no idea you were here, too.” t’challa replied with a grin. “it’s been quite some time, much has changed.” he replied, his grin turning into a small smile. “we should catch up. spar?” t’challa offered.
b-morse:
“— Had to make sure that was actually you. Want a partner?”
“well, yes. who else could it be?” t’challa smiled, then nodded. “i’ve never been one to turn down a request to spar.”
