problem with tv shows today is i think a lot of them want to be movies. 90 minute episodes with full cgi and a plot so streamlined theres no time for filler is not a tv show to me. tv shows need a low budget so they can afford to send the characters on weird detours to flesh out the universe. its healthy. its good for the ecosystem. you need a show wiki writers and tv tropes cataloguers can sink their teeth into.

I just really love how human this mission feels. Both the crew and the ground making fun jokes and references ("amaze, amaze, amaze!") or things like Glover saying "hello baby!" to his family back on Earth, or how "moon joy" has become the team's favorite phrase, or those craters being named "Integrity" and "Carroll," or the astronauts being encouraged to describe how seeing the moon makes them feel (and doing so to a moving degree), and also describing how much working and talking together improves their capabilities on all fronts, and both sides constantly telling each other how excited they are and that there's "smiles all around" Not that missions like Apollo never had stuff like this, but it's different hearing it all live. Wonderful experience all around.

I love the idea that Lily starts realizing that James is actually really observant about her in ways she never expected. Not big obvious things, but small ones. He knows she prefers quills with slightly softer tips because they glide better on parchment. He notices when she’s been up too late studying because she taps her foot under the table when she’s tired. One day in Potions she mutters that she forgot to bring extra parchment and James just silently slides three sheets onto her desk without even looking at her. When she asks how he knew she needed it, he just shrugs and says, “You always run out during Potions.” And Lily hates how warm that makes her feel.

jily are so gentle none of u understand. like theyll act loud and teasing and playfight in public but in reality theyre so sweet with each other. its all soft caresses and tender kisses. theyre so soft and gentle and warm with each other and neither could imagine acting any other way

lily didn’t hear him at all. doesn’t hear him until she’s being dragged to the nearest tree, blade already at her throat.

a rough arm pins her against the trunk, breath hot against her ear. she twists, but she’s pinned in a way that one wrong move will ensure she slits her own neck on his — wait. what. a sword, really? slit her own throat on his sword. what a twat. who the fuck would choose an actual sword.

"easy," the other tribute hisses. yeah, that’s digs, from district five. asshole second only to mulciber. would definitely pick a sword. "don’t do all the work for me."

lily feels her own dagger’s hilt against her palm, but the angle is all wrong. anything worth wounding is too far, and any move will be too slow. she needs to distract him to buy more time.

she’s just wracking her brain for something when another voice cuts through the air: "well," they say, smooth and lazy. almost amused. "isn’t this cozy."

her stomach drops.

it’s james fucking potter.

digs’ grip on her tightens, his blade making a hairline cut on lily’s neck. she leans away from it as much as she can, the rough bark digging against her scalp. "be a hero elsewhere, seven," he warns james. "this one’s mine."

"you got it all wrong," says james, leaning casually against a tree. "i don’t care for her. i’m just here to watch."
