Getting ready, takes exactly the amount of time that I have. Last week I had to leave the house every day by 7:20 am. I was getting ready in about 30 minutes.
This week I don't have to leave the house til noon. Legitimately been getting ready for the day for the last 3 hours.

One of my personal headcanons is that it takes Rumi a VERY long time to fully realize how much she’s been messed up by her childhood.
Like immediately post canon she’s got the ‘hiding myself like this wasn’t ever healthy’ thing down, even if she still has some shame for awhile, but then things like how so many people (including but not limited to Celine) have been seeing her mother in her place, how Celine has either consciously or unconsciously put the blame of Rumi’s mother death onto her, that she’s been training her whole life to kill people that aren’t that different than her, oh and how she’s incapable of relaxing because she’s been made into a warrior/performer from a young age; all that stuff just keeps popping up.
But Rumi, who I can’t imagine ever had close friends growing up, has no idea what is normal childhood wise. I don’t doubt she kept a lot of stuff private but what she trackes as ‘things that happened to me because I’m half-demon’ are actually ‘Things that happened to me because my guardian can’t overcome her own fears and grief’
For a while it’s just Rumi casually says stuff like
Rumi; yeah I never learned how to swim cause I couldn’t wear a bathing suit
Zoey; Celine couldn’t take you to a private pool?
Rumi; too dangerous. I wasn’t super upset about it at the time because she told me that it was selfish of me since all the other kids would be really scared of me.
Zoey;….. how old were you when she told you that?
Rumi; oh, uhhhhh, seven? I think.
Mira;…. Rumi, I might kill Celine.
Thank you for Fortnite and whoever post this 'married Zutara life' first on Twitter. This is so loving (especially the last one) 💕 I'm screaming!!!
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
This is so CUTE!!!!! Fortnite is feeding us the content we want and need.
i am about to inflict an unsolicited little mermaid opinion on you and theres nothing you can do about it:
i hate how the princess and the sea witch are treated in a lot of adaptations. in some sort of drive to find a villain in this story, people make the witch into some sort of evil mastermind trying to get to the sea king via his daughter and the princess some sort of cruel bitch willing to steal someone's partner because she thinks he's pretty, ignoring the anguish of the little mermaid at this action. sometimes shes even in on it with the witch! sometimes she is the witch!
the sea witch isn't evil. she's a neutral character. when she is asked for a spell, she does her best to provide it and asks for payment she considers justified. she tells the little mermaid exactly what to expect, informs her thoroughly of the consequences of her actions and then *lets her choose*. she is the first person in her life to give the little mermaid an actual genuine choice.
she gives the little mermaid legs but when her sisters come begging for a way to save her life, she provides one, even though she could have just let the story play out. she doesn't ask for power or wealth in exchange, just the princesses' hair, which will grow back.
the witch is simply a creature that is neither mermaid nor human, and expecting her to act like either is. incredibly odd to me.
the princess LITERALLY does nothing wrong. she sees a cute man lying on the beach, clearly in some sort of distress, so she goes to make sure he's alright and breathing and makes sure he is taken back home to rest and heal up. She also gets a BIG FAT crush on him from this experience. alas she is a princess and has to marry for the good of her country. so she can't have him. even though he's cute and she likes him.
can you imagine her glee upon discovering that the man she is about to marry is the man she actually wants to marry? she is so fucking lucky. and his friend is so sweet! she doesn't talk and always seems a bit sad but she's so sweet! her fiance is so fond of her that he wants to bring her with them on the ship where they'll be married and who is she to say no to him? if it makes him happy and if it makes his friend smile, what's the harm?
she doesn't know. she can't know. how on earth is she supposed to? she's just. getting married. she's so happy.
she's ripping the little mermaid's heart out, hand in hand with her husband, and is completely unaware of it. the pain she is causing is not knowingly done. how could she know?
trying to insert a villain into this story is to miss the point. it's about agency and depression and loving what you cannot have while craving it so much it makes you sick. its about existing in a world that has no space for someone like you. with your feelings. your thoughts. your body.
its not about who holds the trident or who marries the prince. none of this is a hero's journey.

today I used the phrase "breasting boobily" in casual real life conversation and everyone was shocked asking how I came up with that and I had to explain it. ive been at the devil's sacrament so long that I forgot he wasn't god
“I’ve been at the devil’s sacrament so long I forgot he wasn’t god” is getting added to the tumblr line book
Could you reblog this if you enjoy seeing your writer friends ramble about their wips on your dash?
The wildest thing about Ben 10 is that it took until 2005 for someone to have the idea "what if a kid could turn into a bunch of aliens" like this isn't obviously the coolest and most marketable premise for anything ever. Each design is a new toy. A new powerset. Come on.
But to prove that it wasn't a fluke, they continued to have the best ideas for every aspect of it. How does he transform? A cool watch you can also sell as a toy. That watch's name? Omnitrix. Say it. It's so satisfying. How many aliens? Ten. Nice round number. The kid's name? Ben. The show's name? Ben Ten. His full name is Benjamin Tennyson, a normal, plausible name, but he also turns into 10 aliens.
Bigger brands dream about this synergy. Better writers would kill for this coherence. So holistic. So intuitive. The identity alone!!! The retro alien sound motif? Chilling. The green? Any other color would be wrong. The kirby krackle pattern? It seems so obvious in retrospect. The roadtrip format? Genius. Lesser writers would've done the spider-man high school thing. His arch nemesis being Cthulhu darth vader? Inspired, iconic, intimidating!
The execution has its highs and lows, but the idea??? Game changing. So self-evident that it seems inevitable. If Ben 10 didn't exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
And in every possible iteration he would have a rival named Kevin Eleven.
was watching steven universe episodes with my brother and sometimes in scenes between steven and pearl the show really captures the feeling of being 10 and realizing your mom is insane
Dick: hey, B? Bruce: yeah? Dick: do you think Alfred would tell you if he was getting too old to drive? Bruce: *snorts* I went driving with him the other day Jason: and how did it go? Bruce: *remembering the drifting and spins Alfred did while smirking at Bruce’s terror* I think he’ll be doing burnouts over our graves
Little girl teaching her cats how to draw a flower
(via)
they’re? just? sitting there ???
it makes it 100% better that i can’t understand her, i feel like i’m hearing what cats hear
Heh, she’s speaking Portuguese! Here’s what she’s saying:
*baby voice* “… and if you have any questions, just ask me! And now… yeah. And now you draw the roots. You draw them all twisted up! Got it? A flower? Now draw it. Did you get it, Luis Roberto? Did you get it, Jurandir? Look. Did you get it? That’s how you draw a flower.”
Luis Roberto and Jurandir are people names (Jurandir is especially a name associated with older men) so it’s extra funny that the cats are named that, heh.
studying ancient history will have you thinking stuff like The 18th century was basically yesterday
i'll never live down the time i was talking with a friend and i said "given recent events". my friend said "what recent events?" and i had to reply "the Protestant Reformation"
