India declares freedom of sexual orientation a fundamental right

“India’s Supreme Court has issued a historic ruling confirming the right of the country’s LGBT people to express their sexuality without discrimination.

Judges ruled that sexual orientation is covered under clauses in the Indian Constitution that relate to liberty, despite the Government claiming there was no legal right to privacy.

The ruling paves the way for discriminatory practices against LGBT people to be challenged in the courts.”

Hey, ich habe auf deinem Nebenblog LizzardPeen über deine Op gelesen und lasse Anfang August die selbe Kombination in München machen. Nun wollte ich fragen, ob du noch weißt wie es dir so um die 3 Wochen Marke nach der OP ging? Klar ist nicht jede Person gleich, aber eine gute Freundin kommt mich in dem Zeitraum besuchen, und wir wollen ein bisschen voraus planen was möglich sein könnte wegen wandern/ langen Spaziergängen? Konntest du zumindest schon schmerzfrei lange Strecken gehen?

Hey. Ich glaube mir ging es relativ gut bei der 3 Wochen Marke. Bei mir is ja ne Naht aufgegangen und das wr ein wenig schwierig, die ersten 2,5 Wochen Post OP, aber dann ging das eigentlich und hat auch weniger Pflege benötigt. Lange Spaziergänge hab ich ja schon sehr früh gemacht, aber da war ich wohl eine Ausnahme. Wandern würde ich definitiv nicht machen, also meine Definition von Wandern is halt auf einen Berg gehen mit teilweise weniger gut begehbaren Wegen und dafür konnte ich lange noch nicht meine Beine weite genug auseinander machen, aber spazieren geht. Ich war nur sehr schnell müde immer und hab noch viel Zeit zum Ausruhen gebraucht. Also wenn ihr viel Spazieren geht und dann immer mal wieder eine Zeit für chillen und Serien schauen oder sowas einbaut könnte das hinhauen.

Ich kenne aber auch andere Menschen die bei der 3 Wochen Marke qusi nur im Bett waren, weil sie größere Komplikationen hatten als ich, wie zb ne Infektion, das kann man aber leider davor nie so genau sagen.

Ok so today I was on the bus with another trans guy and we were talking about how hard it is to get testosterone. The waiting lists, the price, all the doctors you have to go to, that kind of stuff. Except, we were calling it ’T’, like you do when you’re both closeted and in public.

Then suddenly the elderly lady sitting behind us was like ‘young men, either I’m going crazy or you both have never heard of supermarkets, they have shelves full of tea there! Do you need directions to one?’

To which my buddy starts to explain, because why not. ‘Well you see, we’re both trans, and… ’

The lady didn’t wait for him to finish his sentence. ‘Oh no, I don’t mind that at all! Now do you want to know how to get to a place that sells tea? I’m actually heading there right now!’

We let her take us to the supermarket. We let her show us, excitedly, where the tea was. We both bought loads.

I don’t know what the fuck happened to you guys younger than me in your formative years but literally everyyyything you’re describing is something that was included in the concept of ‘best friends’ as it was repeatedly presented to me as a child and teen.

SOmething happened along the way that got so many people thinking that ‘friend’ is ‘anyone and everyone you repeatedly have ‘friendly’ contact with’ and that’s NOT TRUE.

We need to seriously bring back the word ‘acquaintance’. You need to familiarize yourself with it.

Because all of you complaining about having friend groups full of people who talk shit about you or exclude you? You don’t have friends, those are acquaintances.

Those ‘friends’ who don’t actually know much about you and aren’t that concerned about you? Acquaintances.

Those ‘friends’ you know who wouldn’t go one on one with you shopping, to lunch, to the movies? Acquaintances.

You are acquainted. You know each other. You are friendly towards each other. But that’s it. You’re not friends.

Somewhere along the way the term ‘friend’ became ‘anyone you know and talk to in a positive manner’ and that’s fine but in that case we ALSO need to re-legitimize the term best friend.

Because to a one, every post whining about ‘platonic mates’ and pining for ‘platonic dates’ is literally just someone wishing they had a best friend.
