I used to have it as part of Idris' lore that they basically had their throat fireproofed with the Shapeling Arts so they could sing the Correspondence. The new University text implies that there's a bit of a knack to not setting yourself on fire, so now my new question is how many times they'd char their tongue before getting such a wild idea.

Why are they so insistent upon getting the language of fire in their mouth? The wind sang it to them and ever since then, they've wanted to hear it again.

I can imagine them fucking themself up then figuring, well, if they're going to have to get it fixed they might as well have some improvements made while they're there. Not that it was purely beneficial: They wouldn't have any sense of temperature in that part of their body anymore, nor would their voice sound quite the same. With practice they could adjust the way they spoke to sound more like how they used to, but you can only do so much to cover an alteration like that.

I used to use Google docs, but the white mode only was really annoying me (tires my eyes), so I swapped to Ellipsus (which I genuinely love and recommend), but it was bothering me a bit that I need wifi in order to use it, so now I switched to LibreOffice Writer, which I do like.

It very much has a Microsoft Word feel, but is open source and you need no accounts to use it. It's local on your device, so no AI can scan it, and no wifi is needed.

I still wish it had the Google Docs cards, because, bitch, that thing is so good for easy organizing.
