Matt Stone and Trey Parker say they are just getting started.

Their comments are a little disturbing in that they assume that all of the complaints about last season came from Trump supporters. Rather, they alienated a lot of their loyal fanbase. The majority of those eating it up were newcomers who had never watched South Park before it made headlines last season. So many fans were “over it” early on and just wanted to get back to normal.

Many fans voiced their dissatisfaction on social media (including South Park accounts), and they were all branded Trumpsters.

I want to be excited about the new season, but I have to temper my enthusiasm. I know that Trump and JD aren’t going away (although at least Satan is gone), but I just want the show to be set primarily in South Park again and to focus on the boys and the town. 🙏
