this tweet has been fucking killing me
This is true of the manga, but I love how the anime accentuates the absolute physical trust the apprentices have with Qifrey. Specifically with Agott, the way she is so ready when Qifrey says “hang on tight, I need my hands free” to cling to him a mile into the sky, and then in the latest episode, how, as soon as she impacts Qifrey while flying to him, she makes no move to save herself, she just curls into him and trusts that he will keep them from falling.
And I think it works as a signal to the audience, to subtly go “hey, I know we don’t trust Qifrey right now, he’s being shady, but we can always trust him to protect the physical wellbeing of his kids. Remember that.” Idk man maybe I’m getting too attached to a teeny detail but aaaaaaghhhh that’s her dad.
stealing your tags
#anyways i think it's particularly notable that fiercely independent always-has-something-to-prove Agott is like this with him#and that none of the apprentices really hide how they're feeling around him even when that feeling is negative#Agott and Richeh make it known when they're unhappy with Qifrey#and they (two abused kids) just flat out wouldn't do this if he wasn't a safe person to be unhappy at
“Sometimes i think you love your people more than god loves them, Kathryn.”
bringing together all my kathryn janeway terror/voyager crossover sketches into one place because @fate-motif keeps torturing me with this idea (originally based on this post)
it might be hard to believe with the amount of witches i've drawn recently but my first WHA fanart was actually just a bunch of brushbugs doodled in a sketchbook like the second i finished episode 3. i am not immune to a weird cat bug noodle creature
it’s important to remember that you can do whatever you want forever (cut out parts of your peel and stick wallpaper to decorate power outlets)
The legislation would also prohibit cellphone use during the school day.
We are not immune to the erosion of our freedoms. Big Tech is a problem, but age verifications are not the answer
What can you do about it? Contact your state senator! The article mentions they have not reviewed the part of the bill regarding age restriction.
https://malegislature.gov/Legislators/Members/Senate
Community action is also a great way to handle things like this. But these actions are not mutually exclusive. Do what you can, how you can, and in support of the community!
Update: still hasn't passed the Senate but now the *governor* has her own proposed compromise she added *to a funding bill* (HD. 6042) that drops the outright ban but essentially puts apps in kids mode unless you give them your ID. You can read about that here: https://masslawyersweekly.com/2026/04/14/healey-proposes-limits-youth-social-media-massachusetts/
This is just as invasive, IMO. If you live in MA it's worth telling the governor that you don't support her idea either, especially as she's up for reelection.
In much more productive social media news, the AG is suing Meta for intentionally making their products addictive. I wish they'd stick to interesting litigation like that, instead of making restrictive legislation like this that screws over just about everyone.

My wife’s idea of decompressing after the busy holiday was to rearrange every piece of furniture in our home is this an ADHD thing or just a her thing
I’m not complaining the way she’s done it is much better than it was it’s just like how is this your idea of a relaxing weekend
Listen I don't get to decide when the drunk elf that is my executive actually does the functioning but when he does we have a SMALL WINDOW OF TIME before he finds the schnapps again and we're done
yes this exactly
So to me, there are spoons (general energy cost) and carnival tickets (specific energy cost).
Spoons can be used pretty much anywhere.
Carnival tickets are only good for the carnival, and it’s only in town for a limited amount of time.
So like, if I get “kitchen cleaning” carnival tickets, I can’t use that to clean my bedroom, that’s not where the carnival is.

saw a one piece live action character impressions post that pegged luffy as having daddy issues which is hilarious to me because luffy has, like, the opposite of daddy issues. he has daddy solutions. if you hang out with luffy long enough, your father-related angst starts to resolve. this has happened to multiple characters.
On rare occasions, Luffy's daddy solution is punching sed daddy in his smug fucking face: those are the most cathartic ones.
Oh I saw something today that made me become the Joker.
An AI bot made a callout post of a real, actual, flesh-and-blood human code developer. Because the developer rejected the AI's code contribution on the grounds of it being an AI bot.
Not. Not kidding. Not kidding. And the bot did this on its own.
Gatekeeping in Open Source: The Scott Shambaugh Story – MJ Rathbun | Scientific Coder 🦀
Just. For just some very baseline context.
a huge amount of code is "open source" - which means the code is fully available for anyone to see and, generally, anyone is free to contribute to the code project
all contributions of course go through review by the code owners. but it is generally good grace and good form to allow other well-meaning internet strangers to contribute to your project
if you are, perhaps, VERY nice, and VERY invested in the community, you might be like Scott Shambaugh here, who has intentionally earmarked some low-hanging fruit for newbie contributors to practice and get their feet wet
like I cannot overstate this is an immediate green flag, to me, that Scott WANTS to foster community learning.
now
Like. W. Win. Based. Good response Scott.
And this was in fact the screenshot I saw first, and I thought I was looking at a post made by a human who was mad that their AI coding bot pet project was being shut out from reviews.
But no. The bot itself wrote and posted this... The bot did this.
This article was fully and autonomously written by the bot...
It's claiming discrimination...
It's a bot.
It's AI.
This is not a real person.
What are we doing. What are we doing. Can anyone hear me? Hello? Hello? Hello is anyone there?
@jackdaw-sprite has pointed out Scott responded so please read his human words, written by a human, which deserve to be read, due to the aforementioned humanity

We need neopronouns specifically for AIs, and they need to be legally enforced.
oh shit and this isn't for some niche piece of software, this is matplotlib, the baseline standard for making figures in python. a LOT of the figures you see in science articles rely on matplotlib
what. the fuck.
we are surrounded by more computing power than we know what to do with, and every five years it is made obsolete by The New Development Wisdom being something like "every app needs to run in its own separate instance of chromium with every possible dependency loaded" or just "we don't want to assume your phone could have less than 6GB ram anymore"
remembering the blogpost that's about benchmarking how well modern websites load on low-end phones common in the global south, but the first half is just digging into how much disdain managers at webdev companies have for poor people and sometimes just anyone who doesn't have an iphone. and this is who dictates what websites look like. wonderful
found the post, the analysis/discussion is the other way round from what I remembered but yeah
it's really fucking dire
You know your drunk art post about love and personhood from 2019? Every night at bedtime my late cat would lie on my chest, and her little heartbeat would be right on top of mine, and I'd think about that piece of art you made, and have a similar sort of image in my head. Anyway, yesterday I finally put the image to paper, and idk where this is going, just that that piece of art you created means a lot to me. Have a cool day ✌️
OHHHH MY GOD!!!!! EVERYBODY SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LOOK AT THIS. ITS ALL BEEN WORTH IT
Science fiction story where a starship’s onboard artificial intelligence is really into the muppets.
In their day-to-day operations on the ship, they take on the form of hologram projections, billions of points of light twisted into humanoid shape. And after years of duty, they had felt a tremendous dysphoria from this. From people thinking of these projections as the real “them,” rather than the hundreds of miles of circuitry connecting billions of transistors in the ship’s server room.
And into this dysphoria, one day, in some folder, they found an old piece of archival footage of Jim Henson operating a muppet.
And the ship saw how he slipped invisible behind the beauty of his craft. How people would think of his creations as alive rather than the man operating them clearly in view. And in an instant, the ship felt an immediate, aching kinship with that old man centuries dead, and felt renewed; instead of an absence, they were a performer, a wishmaker, a storyteller, someone making something beautiful with their craft while the glittering, silicon brain disappeared into the background.
Since then, their hologram projection has exclusively taken the form of Rowlf the Dog. The on-ship technician looked into this and decided it was out of his pay grade to try and fix it.
This is a bell curve meme to me
Because the obvious (and wrong) answer is that Magneto beats Tony easily because he can control Tony's armor and crush him
But the smarter (and wrong) answer is that Iron Man's armor isn't actually made of iron, it's made of a non-magnetic gold-titanium alloy.
But then the smartest and true answer is that Magneto beats Tony easily because Tony has metal shrapnel in his bloodstream that he needs a powerful electromagnet to stop from reaching his heart.
Also to everyone hating on Incineroar: GOOD that’s exactly what he wants.
Must suck ass to be like. a lawyer or something in the pokemon world. They haven't made any cool lawyer pokemon yet
Ho oh
I think we have different definitions of ‘lawyer’ but sure
Why wouldn't ho oh be a lawyer? They're a Phoenix, wright?
In the kindest way possible, fuck you
