my humanity keeps old people carry the grocery bags they no longer can lift. it’s the way that we’ll wait around our friend tying their shoes. the way that people will learn everything they can about their coworkers cultures, practicing their rolled r’s over and over. the way that we naturally mock and mimic animals we find endearing. the way little kids hold each others hands to gain a little bit of courage. it’s the way that no matter the background you come from, music will bring you all together. its the way we have unwavering optimism in light of casual catastrophes: oppression, injustices, social inequality, colonization, and corruption. it is the way we will fight for a better world.
