Nobody speaks of sin anymore. In fact, sin has almost disappeared from our vocabulary. We speak of sins as problems, issues, a sickness or it is someone else’s fault. But the Bible says very plainly that if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves. (1 John 1:8).

How serious is it? Paul said, “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). We sin because it’s our nature. And we sin by choice.

God is holy and He cannot coexist with sinful man. The cross is the only place that God will meet with mankind. The cross is the only place where both God’s mercy and God’s justice could meet. How can God be a God of love and a God of justice at the same time? How can holy, perfect God meet with sinful, rebellious man? Only at the cross Jesus Christ came, took our punishment, washed us clean with His precious blood and then He declared you and me righteous.

That's Good Friday, Jesus died so I could live.

in case no one’s told you yet, you feel exhausted and hungover and sometimes even sick after panic attacks/meltdowns/flashbacks/dissociative episodes/etc. because of very real chemical processes that are involved in your nervous system activation and de-activation during those times. it’s chemical dump effects, and no, you SHOULDN’T be able to just brush it off and feel and act normal. you’ve got a bunch of physical things that got activated and that all has to wind down. It’s not in your head, it’s very physical, and you need to work WITH your body during the after-periods instead of trying to curb stomp it. be gentle to yourself, okay?

Tired of the narrative that child abusers have to be actively and intentionally malicious to children to be abusive

People who never consider the feelings of their children are abusive

People who decide that what they like the most is what's best for their children are abusive

People who make no effort to better their own insecurities and, instead, speak down on themselves constantly and openly until they have passed their insecurity and sense of worthlessness on to their children are abusive

People who always prioritize their own needs and desires over those of their children are abusive

If you want to always think of yourself and your own needs and your own desires and your own problems and your own feelings, that's great. There's nothing inherently evil about that.

Don't have kids.

Mark 10:17-27

Thoughts:

There are many things that can entrap us in life. It may be materialistic things, possessions, opinions, or self-importance. Focusing on these things can cause the real treasure to be lost. You can have all the money in the world, know all the bible verses, be a good person but if you're not willing to truly follow God, none of that will be worth it. My prayer is to be ready to give up whatever is stopping me from following Him more closely.
