I don't know if it's been answered before, but why is Failbetter games called Failbetter games?

Also is does it mean like, "Fail at better games" (the "better games" being the wonderful stuff you give us) or "Fail Better" (Lose in a better way) games (as in studio who's name is "fail better").

This is the Beckett quote after which we're named. The broader context of the quote may be somewhat bleaker than its clipped and heavily repeated, memetic form, but I still like it.

For me, the fact that imperfection - failure of a kind - is the natural state of things is a great release from my own tyrannical thoughts about getting things Done Properly. To me, it's the trying again that matters.

It speaks to the kind of business we are. We aim to be sustainable, to keep going even after setbacks, and to learn incrementally. Failin' better after all these years. :)

A light grows in the far south-west. It begins like a distant bonfire, but very rapidly, it becomes brighter, brighter. It looks remarkably like sunrise.
