I'm going off to LeakyCon London 2013 tomorrow! I only live about an hour away, so just leaving tomorrow morning. So excited! Still haven't packed. I'm too last minute. Will have loads of time tomorrow!

Just Keep Blogging, Just Keep Blogging...

Ok, so I've had tumblr for...well, a while now. And whilst I do reblog Klaine photos, cat pictures and other adorable and awesomness, I'm thinking of actually doing real blogs! So yeah. I have no idea who is actually reading any of it. But I'm going to just keep blogging, just keep blogging... (Dory from Finding Nemo = <3). I'm not going to blog every day of my life, just the awesome stuff. Otherwise nobody really would read any of it.

ANYWAY.

Today, I've had vaccinations for Hep A & Typhoid from my nurse. I've also had pictures taken for my visa. India is getting closer and closer!  After LeakyCon, I'll post more on India. Because, Leaky is just too awesome for words and I'm so super excited about it now. I just wish I had more money to spend on ALL THE MERCH. Especially CDs. Squeee! I actually can't wait. I'm going to be wearing my Hufflepuff tie like 24/7, but not any other dressing up stuff. May bring my cape (my version of robes), and ofc wand, plus tees (some may be fandom, some not).  Anyone going to the tumblr meetup? I am, hope to see a bunch of you guys there! :) Also, anyone bringing 3DS to Leaky? I am mainly for StreetPass, I doubt I'll have any time to play it. Oh and for the journey to London, but mine isn't that far so I don't mind really. I'm obsessed with Animal Crossing: New Leaf, anyone else? Not just me on my lonesome? Aaaand MissTiquelle is signing off!

Summer!!

So this summer is going to be TOTALLY AWESOME!!! First, did some work for money. Next up, LeakyCon!! Potter ness and everything and I can’t wait!!!! Then I’m off to India for three weeks, on an awesome program to learn about education and business in India. Squee!! Then a wedding, then back to my last year at uni. Scary times… Anyone else got plans for summer

Why Dove's "Real Beauty Sketches" Video Makes Me Uncomfortable... and Kind of Makes Me Angry

So this video started going around my facebook today, with about a dozen of my female friends sharing the link with comments like, and “Everyone needs to see this”, and “All girls should watch this,” and “This made me cry.” And I’m not trying to shame those girls! I definitely understand why they would do so. And I don’t want to be a killjoy. But as I clicked the link and started watching the video, I started to feel a slight sense of discomfort. I couldn’t put my finger on why that was, exactly, but it continued throughout the whole thing. After watching the video several more times, I have some thoughts…

in this episode, misty points out how disgusting she thinks bugs are and ash accepts that she dislikes bugs, but points out that he hates how she’s making caterpie upset by putting caterpie down for something caterpie can’t help being. it really upsets caterpie that caterpie can’t be something she would like, because caterpie just wants to get along with misty, but caterpie can’t change who they are.

really, if we all watched pokémon, we’d be better people because it explains that it’s okay to hate something, you just don’t need to broadcast the fact and make others upset or uncomfortable
