I don’t get how ppl can STILL infantilize luffy and act like he’s naive/doesn’t know what’s going on around him. the whole point is he understands situations very clearly and chooses not to accept them. he’s one of the most emotionally intelligent (and kind) characters in the entire series and while his default disposition is fun/freedom/whimsy he’s also legitimately terrifying bc nothing will stop him when he sets his mind

usopp is THE stand out character this season im so glad opla has given him more time to shine than the source material i love him<3 he has so many touching scenes, funny moments AND time to show us what he does and what hes actually good at. you can read the manga for a long time before you realise that his skills as a sharpshooter and his aim arent just one of his stories while opla gives you little moments like him playing darts in whisky peak and they show him making his inventions in the backround a whole bunch of times which he then uses later in the episodes. he has really geniune and nice heart-to-hearts with nami in in logue town and vivi in drum island. his breakthrough in little garden with brogys help was so well done and lovely. he gets to be witty and fun. he gets to be afraid while being brave and without being made fun of it. jacob gibson did a wonderful job bringing him to life once again i love his little smirk he does all the time<3

Look at how EXCITED Luffy is about watching Zoro fight, KICKING HIS FEET, he’s fully ready to hop in and take Lucci down with Zoro just for fun but he knows Zoro’s got it covered. He’s not worried, he’s perfectly happy just to enjoy the show, watch his swordsman do what he’s best at. Luffy turns around and is concerned for the rest of the crew’s safety, has to be there for them, but he knows - he knows - he can count on Zoro, to the point he can just have fun with him and sit back, giggle, and watch his swordsman beat the shit out of someone.
