Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it.
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (via wordsnquotes)
You may need to find your own way to learn, and don't fuss over how long it takes.
A bird will never walk as fast as a person. It was made to fly.

baby: *cries* me: *joins in*
This is literally what it’s like to have a baby.
“Treat everyone with politeness, even those who are rude to you. Not because they are nice, but because you are”.
today my anthro professor said something kindof really beautiful: “you all have a little bit of ‘I want to save the world’ in you, that’s why you’re here, in college. I want you to know that it’s okay if you only save one person, and it’s okay if that person is you”
You have to go do the things you can’t imagine doing. And I don’t mean fake it. You want to hide. You want to self-isolate. You want to die. That’s alright. Let others know even if it’s just strangers. Please do not hide. Other people make up the mirrors that reflect back to us who we are. We can not on our own see ourselves. We need their reflections to guide us. We need someone to see a real person standing in front of them, especially when we don’t exist.

Writing is like driving at night in the fog. You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way. E.L. Doctorow, Writers At Work: The Paris Review Interviews (2nd Series)
Love this line.
But it was still summer. I didn’t want to sleep. I never wanted to sleep these days. Then I didn’t want to wake up. I didn’t want the leaves turning, the nights turning dark early.
