i think the moon would like you
why? did she say something to you? tell me word for word
she said you are trying your best and sheâs proud of you no matter what.
I wanted to share the Four books that have had the deepest impact on my practice:
In Praise of Olympus
Devotion Prayers to the Gods of the Greeks
Hellenic Polytheism: Household Worship
Greek Religion: Archaic and Classical
These four are what builded me as a baby HP and while none are end all be all texts they did lead me to other books that have had a definitive impact on how I personally worship the Gods, so I do hope they are helpful to someone.
The first two I have in kindle format because I found them when I could not practice openly and now I use them as on the go prayer books since they can be accessed from my phone or kindle without letting on that I'm praying. The latter two can be purchased in kindle form but especially my Greek Religions book I have highlighted, sticky noted, and written all over that book there would be no way I could use the last two in any other format than physical.
You can find the last two on Thriftbooks occasionally for those who do not want to support Amazon. You would have to use the ISBN numbers of the first two to find them anywhere other than Amazon as I have not searched for them.
Aphrodite; Prayer to protect your heart
Blessed Aphrodite,
Goddess of Love, born of seafoam and starlight,
I come to you with an open heart,
Wounded by longing, yet still beating with hope.
Let not false love find purchase in my spirit,
Nor cold hands hold what is meant to burn with warmth.
Teach me to love without losing myself,
To give with wisdom, to receive without fear.
Guard my heart from those who would break it in carelessness,
And guide me to those who cherish with truth and tenderness.
In moments of loneliness, be my comfort.
In the storm of emotion, be my calm.
Aphrodite, divine protector of the heart,
Hear my prayer and hold me close.
May your beauty surround me, and your strength dwell within me.

I think it says a lot about our gods that there always seems to be some depiction of them trending in pop culture. Percy Jackson, Lore Olympus, the Hades game, and now Epic. We also had Madeline Millerâs books and now all the mythology retellings. Disneyâs Hercules which will never not be iconic. The shows Xena and Hercules which pretty much raised me.
The gods may not be relevant the way they were in Ancient Greece but they are still very much relevant and everywhere.
The goddess Artemis, holding a torch in her left hand, pours a libation with her right. Attic white-ground lekythos in the manner of the Bowdoin Painter, found at Eretria on the island of Euboea; ca. 460-450 BCE (Classical period). Dimensions: 27.5 cm (10.8 in.) high, 9.3 cm (3.5 in.) in diameter. Now in the Louvre, Paris, France.
Catastrophe can lead to everything you've ever wanted.
Revelation during the dark night of the soul brings you to the community who understands you.
