NO!
I’m only two books into T. Kingfisher’s Saint of Steel series and I think the Temple of the White Rat might be my favorite fictional religious order ever.
Their mandate seems to be just “do good,” lowercase g.
Feed the hungry. Tend the sick. House the homeless.
Temple lawyers to help with civil and criminal problems.
I hope that she shows them working with moderately-severely disabled because that is so rare to see in books. I am writing a fantasy novel that focuses on that population myself, but I have a headcanon that the Temple of the White Rat would have residential homes for the moderately-severely disabled.
I would bet money that the Temple does have such homes, based on the way their healers interact with other characters. The Rat is practical above all, and residential care seems like the most practical way to care for that population at scale. They probably don't have those facilities EVERYWHERE, but I'll bet they do have them. Not sure how much call there'd be for the broken paladins to interact with them, tho—
Oh
Hahaha
Okay, I have a little headcanon now, and it's all yours.
In Paladin's Grace, Stephen mentions that many of the paladins of the Saint of Steel died when the god did, and others fell into some kind of magical coma from which only he and the other six awakened. The phrasing suggests there are (or were) paladins who didn't die but also didn't wake up, and Stephen describes his service to the Rat as a way to repay the temple for the care those brothers and sisters receive.
Although "moderately to severely disabled" is a broad term covering many different medical situations, it seems likely that "magical coma caused by god-death" would fall into the category. The Rat was able to move those paladins to a stable care situation without too much fuss, which implies it preexisted their need.
So yes. It's likely the Rat has such facilities, and if a paladin goes to visit an unawakened sibling, we might get to see them.
Ooo, I didn’t catch that when I was reading! (The implication that some lived, but never woke up.) Headcanon accepted!

General idea - The importance of teaching your children emotional regulation.
It’s quite short and I’d can’t stress how much teachers / parents NEED to watch this.

I respect an "I can fix him" villainfucker 50x more than a "he didn't do anything wrong, he's just misunderstood!" villainfucker. like yeah they both get the cute domestic happily ever after, but man the first guy has depth they have nuance and most importantly they are actually aware they're a villainfucker
but the guy i respect MOST is the unapologetic villainfucker. "yeah he did that shit and it was sexy" fuckers. "was the wanton murder fun babe it looked fun" fuckers. these guys know where it's at
boobs is better than titties as a word because boobs is bouba while titties is kiki

@official-boob-posts
some people are really out there with Kiki titties though
“They’re just looking for attention.”
Oh, a human being is seeking a social response? Human being, the social animal wired to make and track social connection? A human desires the vital blood that permitted their species to survive for millennia? The human being who was born completely helpless and primed in every way by nature to seek attention and help from their community?
Wow that’s crazy. How embarrassing. Humiliating even. Should we isolate them from community? Should we call Wire Mother?
“this is how you age when you’re unproblematic” NO! stop assigning moral weight to attractiveness! I am not hot because I’m a good person! I am hot because all of my friends are gorgeous! I’m absorbing their beauty! Like a vampire! Because I’m evil!
I really like this video
