I have eds but am also hyperfixated on gaming and will be getting my own setup soon. I also sit funny like crossing my legs. Does anyone have chair reccomendations?

Having EDS/arthritis/POTS, being tall, and leg-crossing gave me trouble with "gaming"/"office"/"orthopedic" chairs.

What I ultimately needed was an all-round comfortable chair "basket" to sit in, with lots of space and solid armrests (armrest gaps suck when cross-legged).

The following sort of chair might have worked, but wasn't available near me. (pictured: a Solfway reclining office chair). At a glance, desk chairs labelled "for heavy people" look more accessible to connective tissue disease and less ergonomically prescriptive - less keen on making you sit "right".

The chair I'm using instead was not designed as a desk chair, but a powered reclining chair. I can't find the exact model, but it looks something like this "Melinda in grau".

Proper leg-rests are a godsend! Office chairs tend to only have shitty halfhearted ones. Easy & frequent adjustments are great too, and lying back while queuing for a match is very restful. It has some problems as a desk chair, but I've worked on those. Desk-adaptation notes for anyone considering the same, below the cut:

- The best table height may be shorter than you think. Playing cross-legged lowers your shoulders, and chairs like these have low armrests. You should never count on your table alone to support your arms/hands. Alternatives to a short table could be a controller or a lower tray for a mouse and keyboard

- Easy exits are more important if you're spending a lot of time in the chair, not less. Chairs that neither roll nor spin make for poor desk chairs, and repeatedly squeezing past the armrests or lifting off them can obviously damage them. My chair is home-modified with added wheels, but not everyone has the tools/ability for that

- When trying these out at a furniture store, they won't be near a table. Test a gaming-like posture anyways
