Hi @neil-gaiman it's unlikely you will see and read this, but I wanted to try anyway. Bear with me, this might be a bit long but it's extremely important for me.

In 2021, Andrea, one of my best friends passed away. Some time before she did, she bought me this beautiful hard cover edition of Death's comics you wrote.

I'm not much into comics, I admit,but she bought it for me because she loved them and thought I would as well

I slowly started to read them, and got a bit lost as I'd never read Sandman before either. But what I read, I enjoyed. I liked how different Death was described in it.

After she passed away I couldn't make myself continue reading it for a long time. And then, last year, the Sandman tv series was launched

So I decided to watch it, maybe learn more about the universe and go back to finish the comics after.

But when I saw Death... All I could think about was Andrea. Death's character was beautiful. The way you envisioned death and translated into your work really moved me. And it helped me a great deal with dealing with my friend's passing. And I want to thank you for that.

Last year on Brazil's comic con (CCXP) I got the chance to briefly see the amazing Kirby Howell-Baptiste who kindly signed my book for me from the stage.That meant a great deal to me.I hope to, one day,also get a chance to meet you and have this same book signed by you. Thank you

It's funny that you can always tell when it's a straight cis man writing a fanfic. And almost all of them are horrible and completely focused on either sex and humiliating women or on a male power fantasy lol

Choosing to believe that the reason Eliot has so many "I dated someone who" stories is because his original character description said he had a high body count and the writers have been fighting over what that means ever since

One of my favourite Leverage tropes is when some goons are threatening a member of the team and Eliot just comes out of nowhere from off screen or around a corner, sometimes even when he wasn't anywhere nearby in the previous scene, as if he was summoned like a pokemon coming out of a pokeball. Eliot I choose you.

not to leveragepost in 2025 but I simply must talk about the scene where hardison plays sheherazade, because I learned an arrangement of that third movement recently and I am still so impressed

for context: I started playing violin when I was five years old. Am I great? Nah. Am I able to tell when an actor is phoning it in on violin playing? Absolutely.

aldis hodge actually played that piece. They definitely found a recording to play over him because that's what you do for TV but I rewatched that scene when I was learning that solo and got tips from his fingering. he has vibrato technique. he doesn't just pick a violin up once in a while, he's legitimately a skilled violinist who also does everything else he does

Leverage: Redemption 3x10- "The Side Job"

"I see my own feelings through the feelings of others because I don't feel in ways that they do" is some brilliantly respectful fucking writing for an autistic character. She feels very deeply, but she can't explain it, not even to herself. And when she tries to, everyone else scoops in with their guesses and she just gets more confused, but ends up agreeing with whatever they're saying because in the moment she feels like they must be right. Because they know her and they're better at the feelings stuff. Truly, all Parker wants is to be understood. But not only by others - by herself as well. Feelings and intentions are confusing to everyone, but more so to the people whose brains work so very differently from what is considered "the norm" in most any modern society.

In short, I love this episode. It showed me that this new Parker is still my Parker. My first ever favourite and one of the first I've related to without realising it. She's weird and she's honest, and she's bad at socialising, and people confuse her, (especially when they hurt others). And she's also brilliant, funny and loving and incredibly protective, in ways that only a Parker can be. I'm so glad Beth understands her as she does. I love her.
