The Change was barely perceivable; Like the first subtle shift of Winter into Spring.
But there it was, a warm breath on a frosty pane Thawing her heart whispering that she could go on; that life without --him-- was possible, and could still be filled with joy.

I'm sitting here under this big blue canopy of sky The sun beating down on my back And I can't help but think of you Can't help but miss you. I look at the sky that we share That connects us And wish that it would swallow me up and transport me to where you are. I feel foolish for thinking it. Maybe I've created a version of you in my mind that doesn't actually exist. Maybe we're not the kindred spirits I think hope want need us to be. In any case, that would be more bearable (in the way -20°C is more bearable than -30°C) Than if you looked up at that big blue canopy of sky The sun beating down on your back And didn't think of me at all.
My friend deciding what TV show to watch...
Friend: Musketeers seems like a good option. Leather Aramis is a great option.
Me: Seriously, when is leather Aramis not a good option??
Friend: Never. It's kinda like comfort food.
Me: Without the calories.
Friend: Exactly!!!
Friend: Life is good.

Oh hey, that's a few notes on this photo of mine!
Currently reading 4 different things. My life is a mess. It's no wonder I don't get anything done.
My friend James passed away 5 July, 2014. He was a man with a big heart for Jesus, and a big love for everyone he encountered. I've never known anyone who crashed through life with such energy and joy. He may have been only 29, but he made every single one of his days count. He was a volunteer firefighter and worked as an EMT. James, we miss you like crazy, but your passing has challenged me to try to live with the same big love. I know you're causing a ruckus in heaven right now. X

Cold is the night without you here, Just your absence ringing in my ears.

You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.

For the last two days, I've had to do loads of adult-y stuff. Yesterday I looked at what classes I'm going to register for, and tried to arrange a schedule of said classes so I have no conflicts but still have a life and time for a p/t job.
Today I went to get my driver's licence switched back to a BC one, and now I'm filling out my medical services plan application so that if I maim myself climbing a mountain I won't get charged a big ugly sum of money for hospital care.
At least I'm all moved in to my permanent place.
I think I need to go for a forest stroll.
