Story Time: I've come a long way from depending on drugs as my sole vice and have rediscovered myself and my friends/some family as a new way to cope. I've picked up guitar and have fallen in love with it. I can drink without getting inebriated and say no to drugs offered. I've learned to deal with my anxiety and depression without the need for prescribed drugs as well unless I'm in extreme situations. I've found solace in my hobbies, in my passions and my goals that I once thought were unobtainable. I've cut out many toxic friends and have made new ones that grow WITH me or are already above me and drive me to do better, while keeping the ones that are trying to do the same as I. It's taken a lot of time, patience, struggling, hurt, loneliness, traveling with NO money, literally years of failing and getting back up. I have been in a suicidal depression for MONTHS and have finally come out of it. And while I know I may falter, because it has happened several times before and may happen again, I know I can beat it. And who knows, maybe one day it'll get the best of me, I feel I've been so deep in that hole so many times. But I just want to say thank you to all who have been loving and patient with me. So many times you all have said you see potential in me, and now, at 27, I finally am starting to see it. Thank you a million times over. You and music and art saved my life and you didn't even know it. Now I feel I can grow as I was meant to. Now I feel I can handle the responsibility and pressure that comes with it. Now I feel like like I deserve it. If you feel/felt like me, please please PLEASE feel free to text me and come over. We can do nothing. We can do everything. We are all gods and don't know it. I was in line at Aldi and this girl with two toddlers in front of me had her card declined and she looked so fucking sad and said “let me call my husband real quick” and it was only 18 dollars, so I just paid for it, and she was very sweet and then as she walked off, the lady behind me said `”You know that was probably a scam, right?” and like, even if it was, like what a sad fucking scam, right? 18 dollars at the Aldi. If you’re “scamming” me for some Tyson chicken and apple juice and cauliflower, then just take my fucking money. 

“A scam” people are fucking wild.

This happened to me, too. A woman had used WIC for the majority of her stuff (which I say from personal experience is such a long and embarrassing process) and to buy the remainder of her groceries, which included diapers and wipes, she used a card, and it got declined. I bought the other $30 of her groceries because hey, I’ve been there, and now I’m not. She was extremely emotional and began to cry and even hugged me. My mom called me on the drive home and could tell I had been crying myself, asked what was wrong, and when I told her what happened, she berated me for being “duped.” I couldn’t believe she could be so disappointed in one of her children for doing something- nice? Is that the hill you want to die on? Getting mad about people needing groceries?

I once paid for a woman’s bill at the vet…it wasn’t a big one, but she was trying to pay for some medication for her dog, and her card was declined. And her lip started trembling, and she says “I don’t get paid until Tuesday, would he be ok until then?” 

So I just told them to add the $20 something onto my bill, and I thought she was going to break down crying right there.

And I don’t care if it was a scam or not. Just do nice things for people sometimes.

Okay, so honestly… I wasn’t going to watch this video because I felt like I wouldn’t relate to any of the 6 types. But, I did watch it, and all 6 types resonated with me. Honestly, hearing someone else verbalize the things that happen between my mother and I, makes it feel real. Like I’m not just making it up in my head, which most of the time it feels like I am. I really needed that.

For those of you not up to date on the Kavanaugh madness. THIS is why GOP is trying to rush the vote on Kavanaugh: On next month’s SCOTUS docket is Gamble vs US. No 17-646. This is what the rush is about.

Yes, they want him to overturn Roe, yes they want him to drag us all back, but they need him seated for October to rule on that specific case. At stake is the “separate sovereigns” exception to double jeopardy. If Kavanaugh (and the other 4 conservative judges) vote to overrule it, people given presidential pardons for federal crimes cannot be tried for that crime at the state level.

Then the president can pardon anyone and they have nothing to fear from state’s attorneys. No matter what side of the aisle you stand, this is a dangerous dismantling of the separation of power and checks and balances that protect democracy.

We’re all looking at the shiny coin and not seeing the bigger picture.
