Assassin Merlin + Arthur Knows
Merlin is an assassin sent to kill Crown Prince Arthur, in order to leave Uther with no heirs to his throne.
Infiltrating the palace, meeting Arthur, and somehow finding himself as Arthur's manservant, his mission is seemingly going smoothly.
But as he spends more time with Arthur, why is it becoming harder and harder to complete his goal.

Arthur meets this Merlin guy, now appointed his manservant, and although they don't start off on the best terms, they slowly become friends.
Soon Merlin is one of his closest companions, but not so hidden whispers down the corridors lead to him discovering Merlin's identity. He honestly should arrest Merlin there and then, but why is he hesitating.
Maybe it's because when he's with Merlin, he really feels he cares, even if it's a lie. And if he's to die, he might as well die feeling like someone loves him for once.
My favourite trope is Eddie questioning his sexuality just decides to solo it in a gay bar and he's like "I'm straight" and the bartender just goes "sure thing hun" while pouring him a drink that they know he's going to need.
Like Him
It was painful, putting himself in the mind of a dead man. A dead man that his boyfriend had loved, still loves very much.
And now here he was, standing on a stage to do the very same thing in front of a crowd. Here he was, turning himself into someone people seemed to like better, cared for just that extra bit. Replacing himself bit by bit, until he was no more.
And in these lights, his eyes were a little different, his hair a little lighter.
Who was Mafuyu looking at now, at this moment, he wondered.
We all know Jason was jealous of Percy, and in some way Percy was jealous of Jason. Jason finds out one day and is just utterly confused.
What could Percy be jealous about? He has a mother who loves him, his godly parent actually cares for him. He is a celebrated hero, with even the gods fearing him. He was offered immortality and on his own terms REFUSED. His siblings who share the same godly parent actually LIKE him. When he went missing, people actually cared enough to look for him.
So what in Jason's life would make Percy jealous?

Yes, Percy Jackson has trauma, struggled and all that. I am an avid fan of the series and universe, of COURSE we know he struggled. We see it MORE than almost anyone because most of the series is in Percy's view. Percy is, capital A, Angst central and has gone through so much because people just like to torture him for fun.
In this post, an idea for a fanfiction from the view of Jason Grace (aka a Jason Grace centric fanfiction), it simply stated that Jason Grace, like many other characters in the books, viewed Percy as perfect. Percy was this all powerful hero to not just the demigods, but even the gods feared and respected him. In some ways, it would make sense for Percy to not want to let others know he was struggling, only letting his closest friends into these deep parts. So of course Jason would not see this deep intense suffering, but just one powerful hero, like everyone else saw.
So in this, Jason Grace is just being an angsty boy that also has trauma and self esteem issues. If anything, a fanfiction like this would LEAD to Jason understanding that Percy was not perfect, Percy struggled, and is still struggling.

After the spell breaks and Piper and Jason break up, Jason is now paranoid everytime someone says they love him (even in a platonic sense) because what if this is another trick?
He doesn't think he can handle it if he believes again for it to not be true.
Jason Grace is extremely traumatised but doesn't know that he is because he's never learnt any different.
People go, "oh my gosh, you must be so traumatised" and Jason just says "huh? I just thought everyone feels this way".
Juno/Hera gives into her motherly urges
AU of Hera/Juno actually caring for Jason.
Like, most of the gods aren't really involved in the demigods lives, but then they meet Jason and then they see Juno just in the corner going "Sweetie, you seem tired, here have a sandwich and go to sleep. I'll wake you up later."
And everyone is just looking in confusion because are you sure that's Juno?

Juno couldn't have demigod children. Everyone knew that. So who was this child wandering into the camp, carrying her mark.

Also known as Juno deciding to be good for once. It's known she cared for Jason, he was her champion, and it is clear that Jupiter didn't care for Jason.
As faithful as she was to her husband, there were some things that they didn't agree on. Since he didn't care, surely this small act wouldn't hurt.

He is his father's favorite, even though he has never met him. Apollo visited him in his dreams and sent him gifts
He is also the most powerful heir to most of his powers.

I also love the idea of Zeus and Hera KNOWING he's Jason, but not being able to do anything because technically, TECHNICALLY, it's not him anymore. He may carry the same soul, but that is not Jason Grace, son of Jupiter and Champion of Juno.
THAT is the son of Apollo.
Also the Seven not knowing it's Jason, but seeing similarities. And people are like "Nico, are you obsessed with another blonde haired son of Apollo" but no, Nico is forever faithful to Will, but this boy is just TOO familiar.
Gwaine always made it clear who he was loyal to. And he wasn't surprised by Lancelot. But the rest? Well, he shouldn't have been surprised. He always liked to believe that despite everything, he was their friend.
It seems like only he thought that.

A fight between Arthur and Merlin leaves the rest of them choosing sides. And it leaves Arthur wondering why no one ever seems to choose him.
All "Arthur hurts Merlin" this and "Merlin needs to be protected" that.
Merlin is an all powerful warlock WHO everyone seems to side with.
Where is my "Arthur Pendragon gets hurt because his best friend lied to him for years and he wants to be angry but he can't because he knows why, but does his friend really think so little of him?"
9-1-1 Fanfiction... Suggestion and Tips
I am a strong Buddie shipper, there is no denying it.
But I think this doesn't need to come with the bashing of other characters that Buck and Eddie have romantic relationships with *cough* Ana Flores, Tommy *cough*
I agree some do deserve some bashing — ABBY — but I kid you not, before I actually watched seasons 3 onwards, I thought Ana was some evil girlfriend pushing herself into the relationship.
But no, after watching these seasons, I found out Ana Flores was a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL and understanding girlfriend. Oh no, you say, Eddie PANICKED being with her.
Yes, but that was no fault of Ana's it seems. If anything, that was ALL Eddie Diaz. I mean, yes maybe Ana was putting herself into imagining a future with Eddie and Chris but if you're DATING someone... It's not exactly surprising to think that. It's understandable that Ana was like that. If anything, Eddie was the one that probably got into a relationship without being ready and didn't communicate that with Ana.
And then when she found out how Eddie was reacting, Ana UNDERSTANDABLY told Eddie that this was not a relationship she wanted and left. SHE TOLD EDDIE HE WAS AN AMAZING FATHER, even as she was breaking up with him. And she's the bad one??
And Tommy. Of course we don't know everything about Tommy yet but please, yes Tommy probably isn't perfect but all the people hating on him is not it.
I write this spiel in order to find fanfiction that portrays Ana or Tommy (or both) well, because I am tired of reading fanfiction where Ana is some overbearing girlfriend that bullies Chris and hates Buck with a passion. And also of Tommy being some evil monster using Buck.

More Eddie Diaz and dispatch friends fanfiction. The frenemies situation with Josh, the mentor mentee relationship with May (both being mentor and mentee) and the coffee hangouts with Linda.
It's sad we don't see their friendships much anymore, because yes it may not have created the bonds like the 118, but I think Eddie needs more friends.
