Tumblr has a new setting to turn off
General settings > privacy > better recommendations (uses your search history to show you more posts)
OP posted this May 19th 2018 so it really is some new nonsense staff has come up with!
Hereās a direct link for people on desktop! https://www.tumblr.com/settings/privacy

In a monumental decision that will resonate through election season, the U.S. Senate on Wednesday voted 52-47 to reinstate the net neutrality protections the Federal Communications Commission decided to repeal last December.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!Ā YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES.
Oh thank god
Now everyone prep for the inevitable re-try in a few months or a year
Know this, the House will not vote on this. The only way the House will vote is if the Republicans and Paul Ryan no longer hold majority in the House. They ONLY WAY THAT HAPPENS is if they are voted out in November. The earliest we can repeal the FCC ruling is in January 2019. Get registered. Go vote.
^^^ This. Read the fine print. This is a victory but the war is far from over. REGISTER TO VOTE. get your friends registered. Vote in November. Itās the only way.
Keep up the fight!

Raven the Pirate Princess is Sinking
I despise doing posts where I ask for help, but here we are.
About two years ago I started a new creator owned project.Ā It began as a spin-off of Princeless, but the reality is this - Raven The Pirate Princess is its own thing altogether.Ā I knew this from the first issue and if youāve been reading, so have you.
Sure, the first few issues of Raven: Pirate Princess had that heroic lady feminist banter for which Princeless has become known both among its fans and detractors.Ā I mean, Raven had this scene:
and issue 1 had this scene:
But perhaps much more importantly, the first issue of Raven had this:
but that wasnāt where that ended.Ā This is a book about a community of diverse queer women actively claiming their place in the world and taking whatās theirs.Ā Itās about Raven, who is desperately in love with her childhood best friend Ximena
Itās about Ximena, a girl who was held captive for years by a pirate king who pretended to be her liberator.Ā Who fell in love with the pirateās daughter, only to be left behind by that father when she outlived her value.
About Sunshine, the thief that chose the wrong target and ended up falling in love with a woman already hopelessly in love with somebody else.
Itās about Katie, the bisexual second in command whoās motivated by honorā¦and occasionally beating the snot out of a dude or two
Oh and in case I forgot to mention, Katie is also incredibly muscular:
And Jayla, the asexual science genius whoās tired of being treated like a little sister
and Cid, the deaf engineer who quietly keeps the ship running
and of course, these two:
The socially awkward poet and the angry sword fighter who couldnāt stand her who have somehow become these two:
But hereās the thing: this comic is failing.Ā It has a very dedicated and exuberant but at this point SMALL fanbase.Ā Today I had a hard conversation with Action Lab about the reality of the numbers on this book versus what it costs to produce this book and, suffice it to say, Action Lab isnāt ready to cancel the book, but they arenāt ready to greenlight year 3 either.Ā After Year 2 #13, Raven is set to go on the shelf until numbers can support continuing it.
This is where I need your help
If you care about this book full of queer pirate ladies and you want it to continue, we need to find a way to spread the word about it.Ā We donāt need to sell single issues (it would be nice) but ultimately we need the trades sales that back up the continuation of this big YA Pirate/Revenge/Adventure/Romance thing.
Digital copies can be bought instantly right on Comixology:Ā https://www.comixology.com/Princeless-Raven-The-Pirate-Princess/comics-series/46971
You can buy the physical volumes on amazon here:Ā https://www.amazon.com/gp/bookseries/B01BF7U91Q
In fact, if youāve already purchased volumes 1-4, volume 5 is available for preorder there right now!Ā
Maybe youāve bought all the issues already.Ā Thank you!Ā If you still want to support Raven, you can review the books on Amazon or other retailers, you can share, reblog or retweet this post.Ā You can tell a friend about the book!Ā
If you have a comics review site or, say, a blog where you talk about LGBT media, contact me for review links or interviews.Ā Please, help us save our ship.
Readers out there, invest in some good stuff! This book has every reason to be loved.Ā
(My dear Sunshine~ itās been awhile I donāt draw her, maybe I can make some time this Easterās weekend.)
I know a lot of lesbians that used to identify as bi who worried that coming out as a lesbian would contribute to invalidating bisexuality in some way, by making it seem like a āstepping stoneā to coming out as gay. Iāve also known bi women who identified as lesbians and changed their labels later, and worried that they were contributing to some kind of idea about how men can ~turn lesbians. I just wanted to say that itās no individual lesbian or bi womenās responsibility to fix straight peopleās perceptions of us. Like, itās not your duty to serve as a political symbol! Itās your duty to find happiness even if that means changing ur label at some points.

Breaking news:Ā The D.C. Appeals Court just killed Net Neutrality. This could be the end of the Internet as we know it. But it doesnāt have to be.Ā Tell the FCC to restore Net Neutrality:Ā http://bit.ly/1iOOjoe
they want to make the internet like tv. with channels and paying to get to specific websites and things. net neutrality = not doing that
This impacts every internet user. Please signal boost the hell out of this and sign the petition if you are American
I do not reblog things like this very often, but this affects me both personally and my business as a freelance artist.
In the economy here; cash is already strapped as it is. You bet your ass companies would suck the ever living life out of misc. art sites.
I donāt want it to ever come down to me choosing between groceries or purchasing a new tier package via comcast to be able to access tumblr or DeviantArt (let alone not guaranteeing Iāll even be seen by my customer base since they may not want to pay out their asses either). It doesnāt seem important to most, but I do 90% of my business online entirely.
Please sign up, fight for this and share it with your followers/friends/family and urge them to give them hell as well.
Not writing related, but this is incredibly important. While we pay for service via ISPs, the internet has been a relatively free space where everyone, no matter their income level, is able to connect, access a wealth of information, and express themselves. The Internet has become a major part of our culture as human beings and the notion that ISPs might be able toĀ limit what sites I can access unless I pay them moreĀ is utterly sickening. A lot of us are cash strapped as is, and Iād rather not be limited even more by someone elseās greed. Net Neutrality is essential and I hope you guys will understand why it needs to remain.
-Morgan
P.S. Signal boost this if youāre able.

As I understand this ruling, it means that businesses now have to pay extra to ISPs to have access to their websites through that ISP provided at a reasonable speed. If you donāt pay, usersā access to your website will be slowed to a crawl - so independent people and small businesses can forget about getting onto that high speed access tier.Ā
This means that the American internet is going to be firmly under the control of those who have the most money. Youāll only get to see the content of those who can pay the ISPs to provide access at a reasonable speed. This means that you can expect to see skewed representation of just about everything, with those bigger businesses who can afford to pay ISPs a premium for access deciding what you can and cannot read, view and consume on the internet.
This is not something that we have in the UK. Our ISPs compete with each other to provide higher speeds, better services and lower prices, but because thereās a monopoly in the US of a few ISPs who provide services, they can afford to do this to you. You canāt go anywhere else, after all.
Everyone in the US needs to sign that petition, call their representatives, write angry letters and do whatever you can to tell your government that this ruling is Not Okay.
Maybe you guys are sick of this post but Itās really important to freelance artists and pretty much everyone who uses the internet, so here it is again. Ā \o0o/
