I really do not know why. I’m in shock. Since this is my MCR blog, reblogging it here.

Some people have found this blog. Remembering when Gerard and I became Twitter mutuals, and then Frank followed OdetoFrnk on the bCalm (and later) his personal account. To date, I’m still the only non-journalist fan they both followed. These days, OdetoFrnk is still lingering on IG (used to be 20k followers) and I’m on Bluesky as Nightingveil.

Collyridianism was an Early Christian heretical movement in pre-Islamic Arabia[1] whose adherents apparently worshipped the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus, as a goddess. The main source of information about them comes from their strongest opponent, Epiphanius of Salamis, who wrote about them in his Panarion of about 375 AD. According to Epiphanius,[2] certain women in then-largely-pagan Arabia syncretized indigenous beliefs with the worship of Mary, and offered little cakes or bread-rolls (Greek κολλυρις – a word occurring in the Septuagint) to her. Have been pondering some opinions I’ve seen about Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, especially S3. Thought this might be of interest.

Uhura. Our Communications Officer. Her father says she is “unburdened by conversational boundaries.” Her name is Swahili, but she speaks the 22 languages of her native Kenya. She brings the crew together. Keep that in mind watching the video.

Uhura is the true lens of the Enterprise, and her journey is crucial for the crew. Her boundaries must adapt to “the constant threat of dying” Sam mentions in Symphony, when Uhura is in her element. In What is Starfleet? a camera pulls that away. It’s interrupting the connection. It’s jarring and highlighting how a camera is not human and not capable of interpreting the expereiences of living beings.

Strange New Worlds, because a lot of people were focusing on Spock and Kirk’s origins. SNW wasn’t about them. It focused on performances by women and about women-Black, Latina, biracial, women in “men’s space(s)”. Also, look up Strange Empire.

People hated on A Space Adventure Hour episode too, because the holodeck wasn’t advanced enough. That was the point. That was a La’an version of the lens. It draws Spock in, but Scotty uses a camera reel to communicate and save them both. They wanted us to be prepared for a camera change and film theory.

Just like Symphony was the happy Uhura lens and mirrors the unhappy What Is? Starfleet La’an had a lens with Kirk in Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Symphony and one with Spock now She’s our Security Chief, keeping Kirk and Spock secure.

I can't remember which episode it was, but at one point Jim tries to tell Spock about how little boys dip girl's pigtails in inkwells et cetera.

Sir they did not have inkwells when you were a kid. You never did any such thing. You got that from a book.

Jim thinks he was "trouble" as a kid because he doesn't remember Sam's rebellious stage and he definitely remembers making his parents sigh at him at least thrice.

It's canonical that teen Spock used to randomly disappear into the desert for days. Sarek punished him and it had no effect whatsoever.

Spock is the one who gave his parents gray hairs! All Jim's parents had to worry about whether skipping a grade would put him in danger of getting bullied (they chose wrong).
