Jacob Wysocki is a better person than me because if someone appended "for all of two minutes" to my 7 days of Universal Studios with a Fast Pass, I would have instantly become the Joker and none of the footage for that episode would have been useable.
and a dark wind blows. fuck me.
can’t trust the transfeminism tag because of people being transandrophobic can’t trust the transandrophobia tag because of people being transmisogynistic can we have fucking anything
Posts that be like “If I were a monster that had to eat people, i would just eat horrible people~” are so absurd to me. How often do you see Known Criminals on the street? Billionaires out for a nightly stroll around town? Effectively fucking never. If I have to drag myself to the grocery store, you think it’s gonna be any easier for me to hunt Bezos and Co. every time my stomach growls? I can’t bother to plan meals more than a day in advance, how am i gonna perform whole ass detective work to confirm someone’s a serial killer before i eat them? Ya’ll got that much time on your hands? Planning 5 course meals every night of the week? Don’t make me laugh. Eat a pedestrian and tragically wrestle with guilt like the rest of us, idiot.
Experienced people eater weighing in with the most galaxy brain option
more eilands from my bluesky before i start to lose track of them again 😅
Dumbest criticism I see of video games is when seemingly they don't want to do anything in the game like getting annoyed that your character was asked to complete a task

Meanwhile this was what various medical professionals in that reddit thread had to say about it.
They do not, in fact, love it.
The proof that chiropractic is an utterly failed medical profession is not that adjustments can cause harm, but that the profession has responded by ignoring and denying the harm, rather than studying it.
All medical treatments (other than complete placebos) have some risk of harm, but for real treatments given by real professionals, the harms are tracked, measured and warned about. If the harms are too severe, the treatment is no longer used.
One of my colleagues was a chiropractor. After a while he began to suspect that a lot of his patients actually just had muscle tears, not spinal issues. He bought an ultrasound machine, learned how to use it and how to read ultrasound, and found that to be the case. Between that and the constant pressure from management to get customers (because lbr, they're not patients, they're customers), he got sick and tired of it and bailed to become a sonographer full time.
And before people pipe up with "but my chiro is good, they have me do exercises and so on!" that's just regular ass physiotherapy. See a physiotherapist. A lot of people who sing the praises of chiros because they saved them from chronic pain would have gotten the same benefits from seeing an actual licensed physio, who can prescribe the same or even better exercises because they have an actual fucking education.
The amount of fucking charts I've seen where a patient went to a chiropractor and now needs a surgery is fucking insane. All I do is medical charts, day in and day out doing medical code. I've gone over hundreds of patients whole year of appointments. Unless the chiropractor is also a physical therapist, that patient is going to get worse and need surgery with very few exceptions. It doesn't matter when they mention seeing a chiropractor, by the end of the year they need surgery for issues that started after *shock and awe* a chiropractor appointment! I've seen patients needing multiple surgeries to be functional after chiropractors. I've seen patients lose their ability to walk because of chiropractors. And all the way up till they need surgery, through the issues piling up and needing more pain meds, the patients insist it's helping because the want so badly for it to be helping. I wish it did
Not enough people seem to know that chiropractic started in spiritualism, from a dude who said he was gifted the information from a dude that died half a decade prior. It's been pseudoscience from the jump, and barely escapes being a religion.
It's not evidence-based medicine. It's not even medicine. Don't pay non-doctors to touch your spine.

@sherbertilluminated there's a line somewhere in Ursula Vernon's Digger that goes something like "it is difficult to be metaphysical around the truly geologically minded"
somebody put this in a time capsule because it is so important that future generations see this
I remember once wondering what the fallout was for this, if any (and hoping he didn’t get into trouble). I just had to look it up again because I remembered that the manager at that particular Krispy Kreme seemed to be under the impression that you can just delete things from the internet. Sure enough:
I spoke on the phone with Heath, a manager at the Krispy Kreme location who about knew the incident I was describing. He was, however, slightly surprised that I knew of the video. “Actually, that video was supposed to have been removed from the web,” he told me, “so I’m surprised it’s still out there circulating.”
Aaron, who executed the flip heard around the world, is a professional tumbler, and his dance group was once on America’s Got Talent. He described the iconic incident:
Oh my God, let me tell you about that night. So I have a free coupon to get like a dozen doughnuts, so I go, “All right, say no more.” I go make moves — we’re all in line, we’re just talking. I was like, “Yo, I’m about to make a video, I’m about to do a flip.” So I give them my coupon, I’m like, “Stand in line, get the dozen doughnuts, I’m gonna go over here and make this video,” and all that. So it was me and my two friends. I tell them to set up at the table. I was like, “Oh, I gotta get my intro real quick.” I did my little intro — “Back at it again at Krispy Kreme” — and I was like, “Y’all ready?” Then we flipped the camera around. I back up. I told myself, I’m not gonna hit anything. So I do my flip, but the second flip that I did — the back handspring, the back one with hands going into the spin — I stretched it out too long. So when I went into the air and started spinning, my left leg hit the sign off the wall clean, and it dropped behind the counter. And it was like [glass shattering sound effect]. It was packed. There was a good hundred, a hundred and some change, people inside. Everybody was talking. As soon as that thing dropped, everybody didn’t talk for a good 30 seconds. It was nothing but silence. As soon as I landed — I didn’t fall after that, you saw me, I landed on my feet. I looked up and I saw that it fell, I didn’t look at nobody, I just kept walking, and I walked out the door. Everybody was like, “What the heck? Oh shoot, he just kicked down the sign!” Everybody started going crazy.
I was floored to find out the restaurant was so crowded when it happened. Imagine being there that day, witnessing history…
Aaron did delete the video from his own account to avoid negative attention, but it had already gone too viral to die down. Happily he didn’t get into any trouble. Someone did call the sheriff (insane thing to do, be so serious), but they told Aaron, “You don’t have to pay for anything like that, just don’t do anything like that again.”
In the words of Funké in his coverage of the Vine, “and he hasn’t done it since.” But he did keep doing flips:
Asked if he had any other thoughts to add, Aaron stated, as a matter of fact, “Tumbling is life.”
this line delivery has lived in my head for 10 years
