You know how some married couples cheat on each other constantly and don't break up over it but they'll still insist they're strictly monogamous and they probably have some really bigoted views towards poly people too? Most western parents seem to be doing the same thing but with communal child-rearing. They're already actively outsourcing the majority of interactions with their children to teachers & devices but if you suggest anything that would make it so other people have a say in how their children are raised, they'll want you dead. But they'll still send their children to school expecting the teachers to do everything from potty training to teaching them how to do their taxes.

When the average heterosexual family man complains about his family not respecting him, it is almost always because there is absolutely nothing about him to respect and he has made no effort to connect with any of them and he considers the slightest pushback or lack of affection a sign of ‘disrespect’. You should be starting a recipe book. I don't give a shit if you're only 20-years-old. The modern web is rotting away bit by bit before our very eyes. You have no idea when that indie mom blog is going down or when Pinterest will remove that recipe. Copy it down in a notebook, physically or digitally. Save it somewhere only you can remove it. Trust me, looking for a recipe only to find out it's been wiped off the internet is so fucking sad. I've learned my lesson one too many times.
